Unbelief Does Not Change Facts

Unbelief Does Not Change Facts
By Dennis Huebshman

One looks out their window and there’s a bright light in the sky. That person says, “I don’t believe there is such a thing as a sun.” Does this unbelief make the light go away? Sounds silly, but denying it exists does not change anything. The sun was placed there by a “force” far greater than anything else you can ever call on. It was put there in the beginning – Genesis 1:3 – and will be there until that “force” removes it. (2 Peter 3:7; 10; 12; Revelation 21) (emphasis mine)

That force is the Lord God Jehovah, who created the heavens and the earth, and everything that’s in them. He is the only true God, and any other so-called deities are a product of human imagination. Exodus 20:2-3, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. (3) You shall have no other gods before me.”

This leaves little doubt that He does not condone any worship of any so-called “other gods”. There are numerous places, especially in the Old Testament, where the worship of “gods” of stone, wood and other man-made idols were condemned. Those who worshiped them were subject to the Father’s discipline.

Probably one of the best examples of this is found in Daniel 5. King Belshazzar threw a huge drunken feast, and commanded that the worship vessels taken from the Jerusalem Temple be brought out. They used these Holy Vessels to drink from. While doing so, they praised the “gods” of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood and stone. This is the place in the bible where the hand appeared, and was writing something on a wall. Long story short, that very night, Darius the Mede conquered the kingdom, and Belshazzar was killed.

From the beginning; through today; and until the end of this world, Galatians 6:7 has, and will apply. “Do not be deceived; God is not mocked; for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” All through the time before Jesus was here, God gave His chosen people special attention. All He required was they give Him the praise and glory He so richly deserved. When they did, they were blessed. When they started worshiping other “gods”, He disciplined them, and sometimes very severely. Those who chose not to believe in Him were shown in various ways He is very real. This has not gone away, and still very much applies today.

Someone might say this only concerns His chosen, the Jews. But what about today? With the covenant of the Cross, Jesus brought in all who would receive and accept Him as their Savior. John 10:16 says, “And I have other sheep (all gentiles) that are not of this fold (Jewish). I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice. So there will be one flock (all believers), one Shepherd (Jesus).”

Jesus made it plain, that anyone – Jew or Gentile – that would like a place with Him in Heaven, must accept Him and the sacrifice He gave as our pathway to atonement with the Father. John 14:6 makes this as clear as can be stated, “Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by Me.” This is the true “straight and narrow”, and Jesus knew there would be few that would find or accept it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

Yet, in today’s society, there is a noticeable turning away from the true word of the Bible. This should not be a surprise as Jesus foretold this would happen near the end of the age in Matthew 24: 10-12, as did Paul in 2 Timothy 3. People are being drawn in by false teachers to accept what God has condemned in His Word. (1 John 1:18-27) People would rather believe the lie that life is all about “ear-tickling”, non-accusing messages that tell them all people worship the same “god”; and Jesus is not the only way to eternal life in Heaven. Inspirational “rock-music” and stage-like productions, plus “guarantees” there’s no such place as Hell, keeps them returning for more “inspirational” messages, and throwing more money in the collection plates. Satan is behind every bit of this, and has an abundant amount of followers in this day and age. His actions are more open and bold than ever before as he knows his time is drawing to a close.

These people can be inspired all they want, but they are as lost as can be. Calling on the name of the Lord to be saved is not in itself difficult. The hard part is making a change in lifestyle to repent and follow Jesus. This amounts to following Jesus’ two greatest commandments; Love God, Love each other. (Matthew 22:35-40) Also, Romans 10:9-13 says to “confess Jesus is Lord, Believe God raised Him from the dead; there is no distinction between Jew and Greek (gentiles), and all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Everyone needs to remember we are only in this world a short time, and eternity is forever!

One needs to be in the Word of God regularly, and ask the Holy Spirit for enlightenment, so that our faith will grow. Romans 10:17, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” The result of following Jesus has benefits that are given freely by our Heavenly Father, Our Savior, and the Holy Spirit (Trinity).

Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” We have each part of the Trinity in just this one verse. God did not put anything in the Bible that is just for show

Then, there’s the promise that God will keep all believers from the Wrath to come. This is found in 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Romans 5:9 and Revelation 3:10, just to name a couple. When we become part of Our Savior’s flock, we will not be a part of the Wrath or Tribulation period that is coming in the near future. God made this promise, and He cannot lie. (Titus 1:2)

Here again, there are many who believe all this is a myth (1 Corinthians 1:18), and the details of the end time in Daniel and Revelation are not real. Saying it ain’t so does not make it not so. Rather, when God says it will happen, be assured it will happen.

The rapture or taking believers up to meet Jesus in the air is described in 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. There are other verses that gives us hope for this such as John 14:1-3. Jesus said He would prepare a place for us, and will come and take us there so we can be with Him. That day and hour is not known, even to the angels; but to God only. (Mark 13:32) While Jesus was on this earth, He was lower than the angels for a time, and when He made that statement, even He did not know when it would actually happen. This was by His choice. There is no doubt that since His return to be with the Father, He does know that time now. After all, He is God (John 10:30). He never lost being God while here, but allowed Himself to be fully human so He could personally experience what we go through every day.

Philippians 3:20-21 can be considered pre-wrath verses by saying, “But our citizenship is in Heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, (21) who will transform our lowly body to be like His glorious body by the power that enables Him even to subject all things to Himself.” This conversion to our eternal immortal heavenly body takes place for all post-Calvary believers on our way “up” to meet Him in the air. The dead “in-Christ” will rise first, followed by those who are still alive when He calls. All will receive their new bodies in an instant – in the twinkling of an eye. That has been calculated to be less than one second.

All who are prepared for this can look at everything taking place in this world today, and know our time here is getting shorter. Everything prophesied that would be done just before the end of this age has been accomplished, except for the removal of the believers. We’re just waiting for the Father to give the word, and all believers will be taken off this earth. It’s possible He’s waiting for a specific number, or a specific person, or a specific event, to take place to give everyone time to repent and call out to Jesus. (2 Peter 3:9).

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Anyone who hasn’t accepted Jesus when the call goes out will enter the worst 7-year period of time this world has ever experienced. At least 2/3 of the population is prophesied to be killed during that time. The false prophets and antichrists already here are doing all they can to prepare the way for the ultimate evil one. There is less and less belief in the Bible, but that does not make it any less true. To take man’s word over that of the Father is a one-way ticket to the Lake of Fire that’s described in Revelation 20:11-15.

All, everyone, who truly calls on Jesus to be their Savior will miss that terrible time. Call on Him today, He’s never too busy to hear from us. Gambling that we have more time can be the worst mistake you could ever make. The taking up could occur on any day, at any hour, and at any minute. Be ready. Not believing this will happen, will not change the outcome. God reigns, and His word is true.

Shalom!
