Some will say after reading this message that it looks a lot like so many others that I’ve submitted. Absolutely True! I found out a long time ago that to really learn something, we have to have repetition and usually at least seven times. I haven’t kept count of the times I’ve given this information, but for me it gets easier to understand each time I present it. Especially for those who are new in the faith or thinking about accepting the Savior, I will continue to proclaim His Word as He has provided it to me.
Years ago, when I returned to the Lord, I made a pledge I would always give the truth in a loving, but consistent way and not veer off into political correctness. That only causes people to believe satan and his lies, and puts them on a path to eternal destruction. Getting past the worldly fiction about God’s supposed word is a major problem. Also, I do not wish to have to face the Father and receive His condemnation for leading people astray. I’d rather the world be mad at me than the Father.
First, let’s look at the most common of satan’s lies:
a. Did God Really Say……?
b. Do it later – you have plenty of time.
c. You will never be forgiven for what you’ve done.
d. Accept God, but accepting Jesus isn’t necessary.
e. There’s many ways to Heaven.
f. All religions are the same and worship the same God.
g. Hell isn’t real.
Jesus would answer each of these satanic lies with a well-known Greek and Aramaic word – Hogwash!
First, if it’s in a real bible – no matter which translation – then YES, God really did say. He gave us the good and bad and never apologized to us for telling the truth. Jesus tried to always give a message in a loving way, but sometimes the people wouldn’t let Him. He had the most problems with the religious leaders of that day. The first sin in the Garden of Eden was satan asking that very question, and all involved found out just how serious the father was (and is).
Procrastination can be a very bad habit. For some, it may end up being the worst habit they could have. Satan likes nothing better than to have someone take their last breath here without having accepted Jesus in their lives. He knows that when a person has died, whatever their status was at that moment, determines their entire eternity. He wants as many of God’s created to be set up to share the Lake of Fire with Him. Thing is, I don’t believe even satan knows just how awful it will be. Total darkness, a body given that will suffer with absolutely no relief, and crying out for a final death that will never come. No chance of forgiveness once there. People have a sense of immortality on earth, and are surprised to find out just how fragile life really is. True Believers do not worry about passing from this life to the next. In fact, it’s looked upon as a blessing. Last Breath Here – Next instant in the arms of the Lord!
If we say we can never be forgiven of our past deeds, no matter how vile, then we are calling God a liar. There is one unforgivable sin and that’s not to accept the sacrifice of God’s Son Jesus, and to believe we’re good enough without it or that His death, burial and resurrection wasn’t enough to forgive what we’ve done. One question here – When Jesus was on the Cross, how many sins had you committed? If He died for all of our sins, then His sacrifice for what you’ve done now and will do before leaving this earth is included. One shining example I’ve used before is Saul of Tarsus who became Paul the apostle. He persecuted people of “The Way” even to death because he didn’t believe in Jesus. However, one incident on the road to Damascus changed his life and destination forever Not only was he forgiven, but he became a staunch advocate for Jesus all the way to his martyrdom. God knows every deed and thought we’ve ever done or had, and yet is willing to accept us if we accept Jesus, His Son. He also knows that even after this we will still stumble and sin until we’re taken off this earth and in our Heavenly home. He promised through the apostle John that if we confess our sins and ask His forgiveness, He will do so. (1 John 1: 8-10) Jesus told Peter when asked if he should forgive up to 7 times, that he should forgive 70 times 7 which implies unlimited. (Matthew 18:22) And no one is good enough on their own merits to gain one second of heaven without Jesus. PERIOD!
For the next one, let me give you the straight and narrow (Matthew 7:13) in several verses that leave no doubt. John 3:18; John 3:36; John 6:40; John 10: entire chapter; John 14:6; John 15:23 and 1 John 5: 10-12 just to name a few. All say (paraphrased) that if a person has Jesus, they also have the Father. No Jesus, No Father. That’s about as plain as it gets as there is no other way to heaven than this.
Many ways to Heaven? One verse disclaims this: John 14:6, “Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Even if all religions were the same, Jesus does not accept us by the sect or denomination. His biggest battles right up to Calvary were with “religious” people. A true believer will not consider themselves as Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran or whatever, but is a Christian that has a loving relationship with the Savior. The sign on the building can declare any denomination it likes, but the condition of the heart is what the Father, Son and Holy Spirit see. Jesus would never force anyone that does not accept Him to spend eternity with Him. He has prepared a place for those who truly love and accept Him though. (John 14: 2-3)
There is a movement today where people believe God would not send anyone to an eternal punishment, and they’re partly right. God does not “send” anyone there, but when the time comes, all that are there will have chosen it. Jesus spoke many times about being cast into outer darkness or being in Hades. In Luke 19, Jesus even gives the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. He tells of the suffering of the rich man and that no one could rescue him due to the large gap between his place of torment and paradise where Lazarus was. Revelation 19:2 tells of the beast (anti-christ) and false prophet being thrown into a Lake of Fire as the first occupants there. One thousand years later, satan is added to them (Revelation 20:10) followed by the Great white Throne (Revelation 20: 11-15) where all unbelievers from the beginning of time to the present are added. Prior to the Cross, anyone who did not do the will of the Father are in this group and from the Cross to the end of the Millennium all who reject Jesus will be there. They have been in a holding place where their torment already started. It’s a permanent forever place with no reprieve. Anyone in line at the Judgment who tries to say, “But I was Gonna…” will be told, “But you didn’t”!
Please remember, Jesus allowed Himself to be sacrificed for everyone who will accept Him. As told in John 10, He gave Himself willingly in order to satisfy the Father with a perfect sinless “lamb” which was also the “Lion of the Tribe of Judah”.
One final word, getting back to the “do it later” lie, we don’t know just how much “later” there is left before Jesus takes His Church Home. Nothing more needs to be done and one can almost feel the time is very close. To miss it by even one second is to miss it completely. The rapture will take a total of less than ½ second, and it will be done. (1 Corinthians 15: 51-52) For those who have heard of the Savior and had the chance to believe but turned back to the world, they will not have another chance as given in Hebrews 6:4-6. They will fall under 2 Thessalonians 2: 11-12 where God will send them a deluding influence, so they will believe all satan’s lies. This is not a group you want to be in. (Re-read Revelation 20: 11-15)
It’s so easy to guarantee you have eternal live and that makes it hard in a skeptical world. To receive a free gift with all benefits and no cost except to accept the gift and gift-giver is not natural to this world. One needs to step out with courage and tell Jesus you believe in Him. Thank Him for the gift; repent of your sins by asking forgiveness and live for Him from then on. He will not turn anyone away (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13). Do it today as tomorrow may be too late!
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus – we are waiting for You!
