Refresh, Renew and Educate

Refresh, Renew and Educate
By Dennis Huebshman

We are witnessing the “birthing pains” gaining in strength and frequency every day. The race to the beginning of the Tribulation is on the last lap and the runners are kicking it into high gear. Everything Jesus spoke of that would happen before He comes back at the Rapture, and afterward His actual return to earth, has either taken place, or is taking place right now. Nothing remains to be completed before He returns to “catch up” His Church.

For those who haven’t followed the trends of today, how about a refresher on what Jesus said would be taking place. (Matthew 24: 5-8) “You will hear of wars and rumors of war. Nation will rise against nation and Kingdom against Kingdom. There will be earthquakes and famines in various places (volcanoes signs in the heavens) and these are the beginnings of Birth Pains.” (Paraphrased – emphasis mine throughout this message) Just taking a look around the world, all these events are happening now. I won’t list them, but in 2 Timothy 3, Paul tells Timothy all the signs that will be taking place and just how corrupt and evil mankind would become.

Anyone who may have drifted away from their relationship with the Savior, now would be a great time to renew it. Jesus hasn’t gone anywhere, and if there has developed a distance between you and Him, it’s you that has moved. The Father never puts anyone on hold when called, but sometimes His answer is “No.”. Anyone who hasn’t accepted His Son will not be in God’s favor, and are very likely not going to have their petitions (prayers) answered. More about this later.

Many evangelical churches today are preaching a modified, watered down gospel other than what has been provided in the Bible Those persons who are preaching that there are other ways to Heaven than through Jesus haven’t read Acts 4:12, “and there is no salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Also, my life verse John 14:6, “Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

I don’t care what any so-called preacher or pope says, the way to the Father is through His Son, and no other way. For those who don’t know or have never heard, the Godhead is a “Trinity” made up of one God in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. No, I can’t explain it or just how it works, but I believe it is as He said. To say one has God the Father without God the Son is totally wrong. It comes down to “ALL or NOTHING at all.” The second option is truly frightening as it’s a one-way ticket to the Lake of Fire, or Hell as it’s also known. By the way, there’s reference to more than one person in the Godhead in Genesis 1:26 where God says, “Let US make man in OUR image.” The first option is the best. Romans 8:1 plainly states, “There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus.” This is a promise of the Father, and God cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18).

For someone new to the faith, or someone who may be considering becoming a believer and follower of Jesus, they can be assured the words of the Bible are true and given by God through inspired writers. Paul tells in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness (17) that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.

One thing to remember, when God makes a covenant it stands forever. For those who say the Jews have been replaced by the Church after the crucifixion of Jesus need to read Genesis 12: 1-3; 15: 18-21; 28: 13-15; 35: 10-12; 2 Samuel 7: 12-13; 22:51 and Jeremiah 31: 31-34. God promises they will be His people forever even if He does have to discipline them on occasion. Depending on their sin, His discipline can be very strong as He has done in the past. This should be evident as He caused them to be scattered throughout the lands around the 1st. century, but brought them back to the promised land to become a nation on May 14, 1948. No other nation in the world can make this claim.

Yes, a new covenant came into effect after the sacrifice Jesus made which includes the whole world, Jew and Gentile alike. Through this, ALL who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13) However, the original covenant with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (Israel), and David still stands.

After the “fullness of the Gentiles” occurs as given in Romans 11:25, God will return His full attention to the Jews that are left behind after the Rapture. Some Jews will go up in the Rapture who are “Messianic” or believers in Christ. Sad to say, this is a very low number as most Jews today are traditional, and don’t believe Jesus/Yeshua is the Messiah. By the end of the Tribulation, ALL will believe in Jesus and according to Philippians 2:10, “at the name of Jesus, EVERY knee will bow in Heaven and on Earth and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father.” Note: every knee includes satan who will bow just before being cast into the Lake of Fire forever.

As I mentioned earlier, anyone who hasn’t accepted God’s Son will not inherit eternal life in Heaven. There are numerous verses in the New Testament that state if you have the Son you have the Father, to reject the Son is the unpardonable sin and that person will inherit the Lake of Fire as given in Revelation 20: 11-15.

It is easy to become complacent and to slowly slip away from one’s faith. To combat this, a regular daily talk with the Father through prayer if beneficial. It doesn’t have to be anything formal or fancy – just tell Him what’s on your mind and whatever concerns you may have. Reading the Bible daily also combats indifference. Renew and Refresh your relationship with the Father by asking Him to give you better understanding and wisdom on what He would like for you to know and do. The main thing He would like is for you to get closer to His Son and accept the sacrifice He made for us.

For those considering whether or not to accept Jesus, I would recommend you read the book of John followed by Romans and then 1 John. This will give you help in making your decision. Talk to the Father. You can do it out loud or just concentrate on what you’d like to say to Him. He “hears” you either way. However, please do it soon! We don’t know how long it will be before Jesus calls and you really don’t want to miss that. You will be thankful throughout all eternity if you decide to accept Jesus today.

May the peace that passes all understanding be upon you right now and help you with your decision.

Come Lord Jesus!
