First the verses; Matthew 24:5-12 and then 2 Timothy 3:1-5. I’ve given them in messages before, but we can never over-study the Word of the Lord. (all emphasis is mine)
Matthew 24:5-12: “For many will come in My name saying ‘I am the Christ’; and they will mislead many. (false prophets) (6) You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come. (7) For nations will rise against nations, and kingdoms against kingdoms, (finally all nations against Israel) and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (8) All these are the beginning of birth pains. (we’re about at the 5-minute between contractions stage) (9) Then, they will hand you over to be persecuted, and will kill you. You will be hated by all the nations because of My name. (10) Then, many will be led into sin, they will betray one another and hate one another. (11) And many false prophets will appear and deceive many (ear-tickling messages and stage productions that do not lead to salvation), (12) and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold.”
People have formed an attachment to this world and all that’s in it that does not represent Christianity. Anything or anyone that points out a person’s sins, according to God’s word, will receive a hated response.
Next, 2 Timothy 3:1-5: “But understand this, that in the last days, difficult times will come. (They’re here) (2) For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without self-control, savage, opposed to what’s good, (4) treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasures rather than loving God. (5) They will maintain the outward appearance of “religion”, but will have repudiated its power. So, avoid people like these. (false prophets and antichrists)
Speaking about “opposed to what’s good”; Isaiah 5:20 addresses this, “Those who call evil good, and good evil are as good as dead; who turns darkness into light, and light into darkness; who turn bitter sweet, and sweet into bitter.”
We are seeing issues today in a magnitude that has not been in this country until just the last decade. There is a hatred for anything conservative and anything Christian, and even anything Jewish. We hear more and more about “Freedom From Religion” or “Separation of Church and State” which was never the intent. Thomas Jefferson actually stated that, “Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. As Americans, we are free to worship, or not, in the way we wish as long as it doesn’t actually violate the rights or safety of others. As mentioned earlier, anything Christian is seen as a threat to the lifestyles of certain individuals with all those alphabet letters.
Luke 21:28, “But when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads because your redemption is drawing near.” Today, it’s as if Jesus and Paul are right here describing what’s happening, not only in America, but world-wide.
Just a couple of recent examples; one, the faux bombs that were mailed to certain democrat people plus some news agencies. Even though they were found to be totally inoperative, the threat was perceived as real. This was not a political issue, but a terrorist act, and was soundly condemned by our President, Vice President and the whole “right” side of the isle. It’s sad that one sick individual can draw so much negative attention. What was very interesting is how the correct addresses got on the envelopes. There are better ways to “protest”, and one is to go to the polls and vote.
The second example of the evil present in this world concerns two young girls aged 11 and 12. They went to their school with the intent of killing at least 15 smaller students, one at a time, in the girl’s bathroom. They had knives, a pizza cutter and a Goblet to be used to collect blood. After the killings, they were going to eat some flesh and drink blood from the victims and then kill themselves. They classified themselves as “witches who worship satan”, and planned on going straight to hell afterwards.
It’s not real hard to see where they got their ideas as the internet and TV shows are very explicit. My main question is “Where were the parents?” It’s become too easy to let the kids be on their cellphones or computers unmonitored, as long as they are not bothering the adults. Sad state of affairs for today’s society.
For those who are causing the youth to be lost, Matthew 18:6, “But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believes in Me to sin, it would be better for him/her to have a huge millstone hung around his/her neck and to be drowned in the open sea.” Matthew 18:10, “See that you do not disdain one of these little ones. For I tell you that their Angels in Heaven always see the face of My Father.”
Matthew 24:33, “When you see all these things, know that He is near, right at the door.” Prior to the actual physical return of the Savior to this earth, there will be a “taking up” (Rapture) of all believers so that God’s promise to keep us from the Wrath will be kept. The wrath will be 7-years of tribulation as this world has never seen.
For anyone who believes they can wait until the sound of the horn and the shout from the Arch Angel, (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-17), it will take place in the “blinking/twinkling of an eye”. (1 Corinthians 15:52) That’s figured to be less than one second, and no one can repent, ask forgiveness and ask Jesus to be their Savior in that time span.
We do not know the day or hour, but we are definitely in the season. To have already called on the name of the Lord, would really be a smart move.
If a person misses the rapture, there will be a much harder time to come to the Lord. Anyone who does not take the mark of the beast (Revelation 13:16) will most likely be martyred. Anyone who does accept the mark is automatically destined for the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:11-15). To leave this earth, no matter when, without having Jesus as your Savior is also a sentence to eternal punishment.
No matter what any false-prophet type preacher says, there are only two options – Heaven or Hell. No third choice. Speaking of choice, it’s solely yours to make. All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13)
There’s room for everyone, but only a few compared to the total will be saved. (Matthew 7:13-14). Choose to be part of that group.
Come Lord Jesus!
