One Minute After

One Minute After
By Dennis Huebshman

Over the past few months, I have watched several movies on “Pure Flix” that were based on the time immediately after the rapture. Just a note about Pure Flix; they show movies and other productions that are safe for the whole family to watch. (any extra emphasis mine)

The subject of the Rapture has been of special interest to me, especially after reading the entire “Left Behind” series by Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. After the first book, I was totally hooked. I became like a kid waiting for Christmas after finishing a book in the series. It seemed to take forever for another installment to be put out. Their “prequels” and “sequels” were also very gripping and relevant. Both Jenkins and LaHaye used the Bible as their reference guide for their books, and I was encouraged to go back through the books of Daniel and Revelation in the Bible because of the series. Brother Jenkins is still with us, but Bother LaHaye has gone to be with the Lord. I can just see in my mind, the Savior welcoming him home with a “Well Done, good and faithful Servant.”

Jenkins and LaHaye did a bus tour when they finished and released the “Glorious Appearing”, and traveled a lot of miles around the country. When they appeared at our favorite Christian Book Store in Tyler, Texas, we were privileged to meet them in person. They presented a public image of how a true believer should be, and gave the Lord all the praise and glory for their books.

One thing about the “Left Behind” series, it was made to be shared. As my wife and I would finish one of the installments, we would pass it along to a very special friend who would read them, and then pass them along to others who were waiting to read them. We received word that at least one person had made a profession of faith while reading these books.

Over the years since 1995, when the first book hit the market, I have given extra effort in studying end-time prophecy. I believe we have reached that point when the Rapture is absolutely imminent. I am no expert by any means, however, I do listen to and read what the real experts are saying. It appears to be a consensus of opinion that everyone is on the same page. All the signs given by Jesus, Paul and others are here all at once, and at the same time, and for the first time in all history.

One example that is very obvious, is the coalition that has recently formed between Russia, Iran and Turkey, plus a few smaller countries. This is given in Ezekiel 38 and 39 about a group of nations that would attack Israel with the idea of taking all that Israel has prospered with. This could not have taken place prior to this time because Israel as a nation was non-existent prior to May 14, 1948, and after almost 2000 years. Each of them are specifically named by Ezekiel, even though their ancient names are used – example Persia is Iran – and this book was written almost 2600 years ago. To our Heavenly Father, this was just a blink of an eye in His timeline.

As stated earlier, before any serious consideration that this earth had entered its last days, Israel had to be a nation. Also, there had to be something to draw attention to the other nations that would attract them with the idea of overtaking them. Prior to this time, the Jews were scattered world-wide just as the Bible said they would be. Also prophesied, was that they would be brought back into “their promised land”, never to be removed again.

Israel did not have an easy beginning. They were immediately attacked from all sides by surrounding nations, but this small an ill-equipped nation survived with what only could be explained as with the help of the Father. Initially, the land was barren, but with the Father’s help, they developed ways to irrigate their land and make it very prosperous. They literally turned the desert into lush fertile grounds as needed to grow vegetables, fruits and feed livestock. All the attacks against Israel that have taken place so far, do not meet the magnitude of what is yet to come. That one would be a total destruction of them, if The Father would not intervene.

One other prophecy had to be fulfilled before the third temple could be rebuilt. That was the 1967 6-day war when Jerusalem once again entered and claimed most of Jerusalem as their own. Just recently, the United States proclaimed that Jerusalem is the rightful capital of Israel, and several other nations have joined in this. This is one more step closer to hearing the Savior call His Church (all true believers) home.

Plans in Israel are steadily being made for the rebuilding of the Third Temple. All the implements for the priests are there as well as livestock to start the sacrifices again. It has been estimated that with modular materials, the Temple could be completed in less than one year.

The nations that are eying Israel for it’s enormous wealth are totally atheist, and do not believe the Bible. Also, with the encouragement from satan, the coalition is working steadily to get to a point where the Father will set the “hook” as given in Ezekiel 38:4, and the invasion will take place. Just in the past decade or so, Israel has discovered massive natural gas and oil deposits, and the financial condition of all the coalition is not good. They are all just about bankrupt, and see the tiny nation as an easy mark to gain what they need. God is causing them to get overconfident, which will be their downfall.

When, not if, the coalition attacks, God will put down their armies in a way that all will know it’s His doing. This will be a time when the final antichrist will come forth with the most perfect peace plan ever, and Israel will be glad to sign it. This is possibly when the new Temple will be allowed to be built. Thing is, this will be the start of the 7-year period of God’s Wrath, also known as the Tribulation. The deluding influence in 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 will be in effect.

Now, for the reason all end-time study people are getting excited; we will be gone before this happens. The Church (believers, not an organized religious group), will be removed prior to the antichrist’s appearance. Whether it is well before the invasion, or right at the moment of its start, we are taken up to avoid the Wrath as promised by God in 1 Thessalonians 1:10 and 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10. Paul goes on in 2 Thessalonians 2 describing the man of lawlessness making an appearance, but only after the “Restrainer” is removed. This is believed to be the Holy Spirit, and because all true believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, we are “removed” as well.

One thing all the movies about right after the Rapture takes place is everyone is initially at a total loss for the reason for the disappearances. Then, slowly, but surely, the word gets out that all was prophesied, and people begin to form worship cells. Sad part is, and will be, that they are all subject to martyrdom when discovered.

While all this is good for drama effect, I do not believe any movie could ever depict just how horrible that time will be. According to Zechariah, at least 2/3 of the Jews will be killed; and it’s believed the rest of the world’s population will meet the same fate The antichrist, indwelt by satan, will use whatever force he feels necessary to “control” his world. From the mid-point of the Tribulation to the appearance of Jesus to put it down, it becomes what is called the “Great Wrath”, and no one will be safe.

To avoid all this trauma, all who call on the name of the Lord beforehand will be saved. (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13) Right now, coming to the Lord to ask Him to be your Savior would be the best time. There are places on this earth, that anyone who professes to be a follower of Jesus are subject to torture, imprisonment and martyrdom. In the United States, it hasn’t gotten that bad yet, but with the current attitude against anything Christian, it’s only a matter of time. We’re seeing events take place, and gaining speed, that we never thought we would witness in our lifetimes. All the abominations that God spoke against are being taken as the new normal. Murdering babies at birth goes back to the worship of idols in the old testament where human sacrifice was practiced. God punished all of them, and in the Tribulation will punish those who participate today.

Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no name under Heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Believe Jesus came to this earth to die for our sins, and that God raised Him up from the dead to conquer sin and death, once and for all. By calling on the Savior, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9-13) Jesus could call for His Church at any moment, so avoid the possibility of having to be in the Wrath by asking Him into your heart today.

One minute after will be too late for any who had the opportunity beforehand, as they will be given the delusion mentioned. The outcome will be separation from the Savior forever in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:11-15). It just isn’t worth the gamble that this time is far off. One thing all prophecy people agree on, they cannot understand why we’re even still here. The only explanation is that God has at least one more thing to complete. When that takes place, the Rapture will happen, and it will be over in the “twinkling of an eye”, which is calculated to be less than one second. He’s waiting for your call.

Shalom!
