Jesus I Come To Thee
By Dennis Huebshman
There’s something I have just recently discovered; the older I get, the worse my memory becomes. Also, I’ve found that the older I get, the worse my memory becomes. (emphasis mine)
Why would I bring this up? I prepared a great message called, “My Jesus, I Love Thee”. Had the whole song written along with the background of the author, and a really intense message to pass on. Then, something told me this sounded very familiar, so I looked back through the articles that I previously had posted. There it was – May 23, 2019 – and almost word for word of the original. So, if anyone happened to miss that one, it’s in the “Articles” section of raptureforums.com. My name is listed with other authors on that page, and if you select it, you can pull up all the messages given to me by the Father, and that have been very graciously posted by the site administrator
Meanwhile, there is another old Church Standard that is every bit as inspirational as the one listed above. It’s called, “Jesus, I Come To Thee.” It was written by William True Sleeper in 1887, and yes, that’s his real full name. He lived from 1819-1904, and his biography and all the poems of his that were turned into hymns are listed on the internet.
In Just about every message the Father has given me to post, I include Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13, and sometimes add Joel 2:32. They all say that all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. So, just what is involved on calling on the Lord? Back before I established a real relationship with My Jesus; My Savior; My Redeemer; and My King; I probably would have told anyone that if they attended church regularly, and believed God and Jesus do exist, that would be all they would need to be saved. It’s the same message some false prophets are giving today, and some add that there are multiple ways to heaven, and Jesus isn’t the only way. Oh yes, and another favorite of mine is “We All Worship The Same God.”
First, anyone who believes this, it’s absolutely dead wrong. I have posted before, that about 33 years ago, I attended a church service with my wife for the first time. We had been married less than a year, and this was the first time we attended together. I also mentioned there were “prayer warriors” who had been praying that something, anything, would cause me to want to seek Jesus in a complete and proper way. Going to church wasn’t new, just going regularly since my late teens was.
At the age of about 40, I read the Bible cover-to-cover for the first time; and a hunger for the true word developed causing me to want to learn more. My frame of mind was that I did want to learn, and very shortly thereafter I asked Jesus to be my Savior for real. I realized just believing Jesus exists isn’t enough. The devil and his angels know He is real; but the secret is to “accept” Him personally.
One other thing I asked was for the ability to comprehend more fully what the Word of the Lord was telling me, and began a daily habit of reading from the Father’s Love Letter. After going through several translations over a couple years, my personal choice became the English Standard Version (ESV), but I also still refer to the King James Version (KJV), the New King James Version (NKJV), the New American Standard Bible (NASB) and the New English Translation (NET).
My “habit” of reading daily became a “lifestyle”, and I read His word every day. There are apps on my cell phone that I use in case I miss my morning ritual for whatever reason. Part of my lifestyle of Bible study includes a very short prayer just before beginning to read. It’s not long or really involved; I just ask, “Father, please have the Holy Spirit bless this reading, and enlighten me further so that I may increase my relationship with My Jesus.”
Many things I heard that were supposed to be in the bible prior to my reading it for myself; I discovered wasn’t in there. Things like, “We have to do works to be saved”, or “The Jews have been replaced by Christians as God’s chosen people”, and so on.
On the other hand, I found that if we call out to Jesus, confess that we know we’re sinners (Romans 3:23), and we tell Him we want to repent and accept His free gift that He paid for in full at Calvary, we will be saved. We must believe He came to this earth to be the perfect sacrifice for us, and He is the only “Human” that ever died on this earth, and was raised by the Father to return to Heaven as Fully God to prepare a place for all who call on Him to be their Savior. (John 14:1-3) All other humans that were raised from the dead as told in the Bible had to die all over again.
Our Jesus will never die again as He and the Father are one. (John 10:30) The Holy Spirit rounds out this “Trinity”. Jesus is the only way we have to go to the Father (John 14:6), no matter what any false prophet or other satanic follower may tell you.
When I gave my heart to Jesus, I also became a pastor for Him through the Truett Seminary; Baylor University. This completed a wish for me of one of my most adamant prayer warriors – My Mom. She passed away before this was completed, however, I completely believe she will be there when we all get Home.
The song is, “Jesus, I Come To Thee”, and as I look through the verses, I can relate to just about every line. I especially look forward to the very last line of Verse 4. I have underlined it totally.
(1.) Out of my bondage, sorrow and night; Jesus I come, Jesus I come. Into Thy freedom, gladness and light; Jesus I come to Thee. Out of my sickness, into Thy health; out of my wanting, and into Thy wealth. Out of my sin and into Thyself; Jesus I come to Thee.
(2.) Out of my shameful, failures and loss; Jesus I come. Jesus I come. Into the glorious gain of Thy Cross; Jesus I come to Thee. Out of earth’s sorrows, into Thy balm; out of life’s storms, and into Thy calm. Out of distress, into jubilant psalm; Jesus I come to Thee.
(3.) Out of unrest, and arrogant pride; Jesus I come. Jesus I come. Into Thy blessed will to abide; Jesus I come to Thee. Out of myself, to dwell in Thy Love; out of despair, into rapture above. Upward forever, on wings like a dove; Jesus I come to Thee.
(4.) Out of the fear, and dread of the tomb; Jesus I come. Jesus I come. Into the joy, and light of Thy Home; Jesus I come to Thee. Out of the depths of ruin untold; into the peace of Thy sheltering fold. Ever Thy Glorious face to behold; Jesus I come to Thee.
Without hesitation, I can say I totally look forward to being with Jesus, and also all who will be in eternity with us. If He were to call us up to meet Him in the air today, it would not be too soon. (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
There is nothing, or no one, I would want to hold us back on this earth, when Jesus calls for His Church to go to Him. I pray daily for all of our loved ones, just as I know my Mom did – and ask the Holy Spirit to provide some incentive for any who haven’t done so, to accept Jesus before it’s too late. The Father will never force anyone to come to Him, His Son or the Holy Spirit. He will accept all who will truly call out to be saved. It’s an individual choice, and I pray everyone, even those who consider themselves to be my enemy, to call on Jesus for their Salvation. Once Home, all animosity will cease, as Heaven is a place of pure love, and eternity will be completely satisfying.
Everything that was given by Jesus, Paul and others about the end of this age, is here now, and for the first time all at once. The next major event would be the Rapture, and it could be at any moment. It doesn’t take very much effort to witness this world is spiraling downward at an ever-increasing pace.
Today would not be too early to get your reservation in, and tell the Savior; “Jesus, I Come To Thee”! Hope to see you there!
Maranatha – Come Lord Jesus!
