It’s Always Been the Plan!
By Dennis Huebshman
It’s no real secret this old world is going through some major changes. Most of them aren’t for the good. All around we see violence gaining ground every day; just saying the name of JESUS brings extreme negative feelings, but to say anything about other religions makes one a hater. Even the simplest references are met with lawsuits and accusations. There was a recent article about the Minneapolis, Mn. Council passing a law that anyone who speaks out against Islam can be charged with a crime. I haven’t heard of anyone calling it a crime to speak out against our Lord and Savior Jesus. God is not surprised and that’s Good News…this was meant to be from the very beginning. He’s coming for us soon.
Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning, GOD created the Heavens and the Earth.
Genesis 1:28 – And God said “Let Us make man in Our image after Our likeness. This is the first reference to a God-head that is made up of more than one person. (Jesus was there!)
Then there’s the story of the fall.
In Genesis 3:15, God tells the serpent that “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise His heel. God already knew He would send His son in order to have a way to save mankind.
Moving on to Isaiah 53 verses 4-5: The prophet says, “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. (5) He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities and upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace and with His stripes we are healed. (Who does that refer to? Jesus!)
Isaiah lived about 600-700 years before Jesus came to earth but was given the insight the Messiah would be sacrificed for our sins. All 39 books of the Old Testament are about the coming of the Messiah and through the writings of the prophets such as Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel and others we get a glimpse of what the end times are going to be like. These writings (scrolls) were available to the religious leaders of Jesus’ time, and that’s why He was so disappointed with them.
These books also tell of the many times God’s Chosen people, the Jews turned away from Him and then back to Him and the struggles they went through during their God-Rejection periods. Make no mistake, they were and ARE His chosen people. Even though the majority of them (about 98%) today do not believe Jesus is the messiah, the day will come during the Tribulation that ALL His chosen will realize who Jesus is. Sad part is about 2/3 of them will be martyred who go into the Tribulation.
The good news, ALL who have chosen God through His son Jesus will not have to be here to go through this.
Just as a quick reference to this event, the most revealing verses are found in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command with the voice of an archangel and with the sound of the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. (17) Then we who are alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord “IN THE AIR” so we will always be with Him. (That’s the Rapture)
Next, we check 2 Thessalonians 2: 3-7: Let no one in any way deceive you for it (Tribulation) will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, (4) who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship so that he takes his seat in the temple of God displaying himself as being God. (Anti-Christ) (5) Do you not remember that while I was still with you I was telling you these things. (6) And you know what restrains him now so that in his time he will be revealed (7) for the mystery of lawlessness is already at work only He who now restrains will do so until taken out of the way. (Holy Spirit, so if the Holy Spirit is taken out of the way, Jesus’ Church will be taken up also – Rapture)
Who is this person we call Jesus? I love the book of John, and would like to go through some verses for you;
John 1:1 – In the Beginning (familiar?) was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was god. (Jesus did not just start with His birth on this earth – He was there forever)
John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father full of grace and truth.
Many have heard of John 3:16 and can recite it practically word for word. But don’t stop there…For it to be complete, you have to read through verse 18 which says “Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already.
I said the Jews are God’s chosen people, but there has always been a plan for everyone as well. John 10:16 finds Jesus saying he has “other sheep” that are not of the fold (Jewish), but I must bring them in also……Going back to the beginning and up to the cross, ALL who did God’s will are going to be with Him forever. From the Cross forward, ALL who accept Jesus as their Savior will be saved.
Jesus made it clear in John 10:18 that His sacrifice was voluntary. He said no one would take it from Him, but He would lay it down willingly. (Could’ve come off the Cross, but His love for us kept Him there until the sacrifice was complete.)
There are many people today who say Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah. How about my life verse John 14:6:
“Jesus said I am the Way the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except by Me!” Sounds like a claim to me!!!
How about Romans 5:8 “..but God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!”
There are many verses that tell us of the love of the Father for us and what our precious Savior has done for us. We are offered a gift that cannot be purchased or earned, because that was already done. Jesus purchased our pardon on the cross and earned the right to tell the Father who is His and who is not.
Revelation 3:20 tells us Jesus stands at the door and knocks. If we open the door, He will come in and dine with us. This means, if we accept Him as our Savior, He will have the Holy Spirit live within us and He will prepare a place in Heaven for us to be with Him forever.
This old world is rapidly turning away from Jesus more and more each day. Satan doesn’t care if you believe in God, but he does not want you to have anything to do with Jesus. He gives you his biggest lie by trying to convince you to delay till another time to accept Jesus as your Savior. He wants you to be with him in the Lake of Fire – and yes it does exist even though it isn’t populated at the present time. As of today, almost 70% of Evangelical Christians believe there are many ways to heaven other than Jesus. I again refer you to John 14:6.
Can you honestly tell me right now that if you put off letting Jesus into your life today that you will be here next week or even tomorrow? If you’re going to gamble, do it with the state lottery, but not with your soul. There are many people who bought the lie and thought they had more time and passed into eternity before they thought they would. Once you have taken your last breath here, it’s too late to make a decision – it’s already made at that point.
GOD doesn’t care what your position in life is, how much money you have or what you have done. What is most important is you tell Him you want JESUS in your life and ask His forgiveness for past sins. They’ve been paid for on the cross already, but to take advantage of the gift, you have to ask for it. That’s It! It applies to everyone! I’m no more important than you in God’s eyes and neither is any other pastor on this earth. Those who choose to be “messengers” for the Lord are held to a higher standard of accountability and false prophets will receive a greater punishment.
Finally, Luke 15:7 says there is rejoicing in Heaven for one sinner that repents. Before you go further today, let’s get the angels hollerin and shoutin! If the Lord comes today to take His Church home, I want to make sure everyone reading this will be taken. To be left behind will be the worst time of anyone’s life. This would has never experienced the wrath of God that will take place. Thing is, it’s so unnecessary for you to be here. Call out today – tomorrow may be too late!
There’s Victory In Jesus!
