Get It Right

Get It Right
By Dennis Huebshman

We know from 2 Timothy 3:16, Every Scripture is God inspired. Knowing that God cannot lie (Titus 1:2), have you ever wondered why so many so-called pastors, preachers, ministers, priests, rabbis or whatever put out words that are not the Father’s? (As Always, all emphasis is mine throughout.)

Also, we know if something is said once, it’s worth remembering and in the context it was given. If something is repeated, we should know God wants special emphasis on it. For example, Moses was instructing the Israelites on what they should expect after he would leave them. In Deuteronomy 12:32, “You must be careful to do everything I am commanding you. Do not ADD to it or SUBTRACT from it.” Next, go to Revelation 22: 18-19, “I testify to the one who hears the words of this prophecy contained in this book, if any one ADDS to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. (19) And if anyone TAKES AWAY from the words of the Book of Prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the Holy City that are described in this book.” As you can see, they both refer to “add to” or “take away” from God’s commandments, however, Revelation goes further and gives the full consequences. In Deuteronomy, Moses continued the warnings in Chapter 13. In several verses, (5,9,10,15) he adds that people who draw others away from God, even close relatives, are to be killed. I guess that would be taking it very seriously.

Thing is, even with the warnings from several prophets and apostles, people still are being drawn away from the truth and lured toward the myths that abound – and that includes today. Paul is very outspoken in Galatians 1:8, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach a gospel contrary to the one preached to you, let him be condemned to hell!” Remember when I said when something is repeated? Paul repeats it almost word for word in Galatians 1:9.

As an ordained minister, I am very conscious of what I share from the Word of the Lord, and made a promise to the Father that I would never knowingly misrepresent any of His messages. James 3:1, “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, because you know that we will be judged more strictly.” Anyone and Everyone who makes a promise to the Lord needs to be ready to keep it. I take this privilege very seriously.

There have been false prophets almost from the very beginning of time. Idol and false god worship was named throughout the Old Testament, and some even required human sacrifice. Ahaz and Manasseh were two kings that “passed their sons through the fire” which was an abomination to the Father. If someone doesn’t know what that means, they threw them into a fire to honor a false god.

We are told to test the spirits (false prophets). In 1 John 4: 1-3, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (2) By this, you know the Spirit of God; every spirit that confesses Jesus as the Christ who has come in the flesh is from God, (3) but every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God and this is the spirit of the anti-christ which you have heard is coming and is now already in the world.”

Peter says in 2 Peter 2:1, “But false prophets arose among the people just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies even to the point of denying the Master (Jesus) who bought them. As a result, they will bring destruction on themselves.”

Jesus said, “Watch out for false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are voracious wolves,” (Matthew 7:15). In Matthew 24:24, “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

Paul says, “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”

As you can see, false prophecy has been a problem for a long time, however it seems to be running rampant these days. Almost everything that is designated “Christian” is being attacked in one form or another. In numerous countries, Christianity is considered evil and people are being martyred for their faith. It hasn’t gotten that bad here yet, but the signs are beginning to show. Christian business owners are being attacked just because they are sticking to their faith, and the ones attacking are doing it with an evil purpose in mind.

How about a law in Canada where children can be removed from homes of parents who don’t acknowledge alternate lifestyles? California is in the process of passing a law that would in essence outlaw the Bible and most Christian Counselors wo speak against transgenderism or any other form of alternate sexuality. Even if a person seeks help from a Christian leader or Counselor, they would be in violation of the law if they respond and try to help. Also, to even just hand someone written material offering help would be illegal. It’s amazing the far left is willing to accept illegal immigrants, any form of sexual deviation, Islam or any other belief, but anything that has to do with Jesus is wrong in their eyes.

Going back to 1 John 4:3 that say every spirit that does not confess Jesus is from the anti-christ. It should be noted, there have been anti-christs in the world from calvary to the present time. The one talked about in Revelation is yet to appear and will be far worse than any have been so far. Think about all the so-called religious leaders from different denominations that are saying there’s many ways to heaven besides Jesus. It should be obvious this fits this verse perfectly, yet people are believing this because it removes responsibility from them. They can deny the true Messiah and be “blessed” by the false prophets, but they won’t be blessed by our Heavenly Father who really is the only one that counts.

Peter said false prophets would “infiltrate” us and give “destructive heresies”. How about the “ear-tickling” non-condemning sermons being given in a lot of pulpits with no mention of hell, along with the good old finger-popping catchy music to get the congregation inspired. Again, the people may be “full of the spirit”, but not the spirit of God.

Paul’s Galatians 1:8-9 warning should send a shock wave through every person who misrepresents the True Word of the Lord. Satan is at work and has many followers who are only to eager to push forward his lies. Many ways to heaven…No need for Jesus…Did God really say…you can come to Jesus later…you have all the time in the world to do it later.

How about the statement that when you take your last breath on this earth, your eternity is set? No reprieve after that if you haven’t accepted the Savior. How about no one knows the day or hour the Savior will come to call His Church Home? When the rapture occurs, and it will, all True Believers will be taken up to meet the Savior in the air/clouds. All who are left behind are going to face some terrible times as this world has never seen before.

My message is the same today as it was 30 years ago and always will be. John 14:6 – Jesus said He was the Way, Truth and Life, and only through Him could anyone go to the Father. ALL who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21 and Romans 10-13 – remember about things being repeated?) Therefore, ALL who DO NOT call on the name of the Lord – that is to deny Him – will not be saved.

It’s beyond sad that so many who could have gained eternal life with Jesus will instead end up in the Lake of Fire. Nothing this world has to offer is worth an eternal soul, but the Father will allow someone to CHOOSE to reject Jesus if they wish. It’s a decision that will haunt them forever. It would be so much better to ask Jesus to forgive you and be your Savior. Your address will change to a place prepared by Jesus Himself (John 14) and be with all the others who have accepted Him.

Being as we’re not guaranteed tomorrow; wouldn’t it be a good time to call on Him right now? He’s listening and waiting for you. The line is never busy.

Maranatha!
