Can You Hear Me Now?
By Dennis Huebshman
Several years ago, a cell phone company had an ad on TV where a guy would go to a number of places, and at each location he would stop and say into the phone, “Can you hear me now?”. They were trying to demonstrate that they had the best calling areas with few “dead spots”. Interesting enough, that same person is now advertising for a different cell phone company. (any emphasis mine)
This message is not an advertisement for any cell phone company. Its purpose is to illustrate that our Heavenly Father has been trying to raise our attention over the past few years, and He’s getting more intense about it today. With everything that is going on all over this troubled world, I can just hear Him saying, “Can You Hear Me Now?”. All to many are ignoring this. We’ll take a look at a few of the “messages” He is sending us.
Of course, the biggest event happening right now is the Covid-19 issue. Unless you’re part of an undiscovered tribe of natives in the middle of the Amazon jungle, you will have heard everything that’s being published about the virus – true and false. The radical left is trying to use the fear involved to convince the world that it’s time for a “one-world government”. They are insinuating that this would be the only way to combat the virus, and they’re “volunteering” to be in charge of us all. The faux liberal news medias are giving them a lot of press to “soften” the idea that we need to “temporarily” give up basic rights to overcome the threat. It’s one of the lead-ins for the coming antichrist, and his followers are doing all they can to prepare the way. Besides, any time any government used “temporary” measures, they usually have turned permanent.
How about a plague of locusts? It started in East Africa, and has drastically affected several African nations. The report is, it’s moving across the Arabian Peninsula into the Middle East in swarms larger than New York City. They are totally destroying food crops and just about every plant life in their path. China could very well be affected if the swarms are not stopped soon.
Earthquakes in “diverse” places? Some may say there’s been no actual increase, but that the reason it seems so is there is increased technology to record them. No matter what anyone says, their occurrences in different locations have some experts watching very closely. There’s a major fault line in California that we’ve always heard about; and there is another major one that runs southwest from Madrid, Missouri. Both threaten a very large portion of America from Indiana to the West Coast. Add to this the potential volcanic activity in Yellowstone, that if a major eruption occurs, nearly all the middle of the U.S. would be affected.
One of the most interesting quakes took place in Utah, and Salt Lake City was involved. March 18 saw a 5.7 event, and aftershocks are still happening today. During the March 18 quake, the “Angel Moroni” atop the Mormon Tabernacle lost its horn. Could it just be that the Father was issuing a wake-up call?
Add severe weather patterns, civil unrest, hate toward anything that pertains to Jesus and Christianity, and we’re beginning to see the “birthing pains” Jesus told us of in Matthew 24:8. The true word is being bypassed in many Evangelical churches, and feel-good messages are being given it its place. Jesus and several others told what the atmosphere would be like at the end of the age, and today’s news events could have been taken right out of the Holy Word.
There is an “awakening” event that will soon take place, that I am especially looking forward to.
First from 1 Corinthians 15:51-53, “Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed; (52) in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead (who were true believers) will be raised imperishable; and we shall all be changed. (53) For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.” Brand new bodies that will last through all eternity without any fear of perishing.
Then 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers/sisters, about those who are asleep (have died), that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope (died as unbelievers) (14) For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep. (15) For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. (16) For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven, with a cry of Command, with the voice of an Archangel, and with the sound of the Trumpet of God. And the dead In Christ, will rise first. (17) Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” This is for believers only; past and present.
There are those who believe this event, also known as the Rapture, will take a while for everything listed to happen. The part about the “twinkling of an eye” should give a better time frame. It’s been calculated this is the amount of time it takes for light to enter the eye, and then reach the back of the eyeball. It’s so fast that it can hardly be calculated. If we use “blink of an eye”, it’s believed this is about 1/3 of a second. At any rate, God is able to make this happen at any speed He so desires.
So, if all of a sudden, about 10% – 12% of the world’s population suddenly disappears, do you believe that would get some attention? It’s the ultimate “Can You Hear Me Now?”.
There will be many who will be totally lost in despair. Some may actually be glad that the “haters” have gone. These would be those who have chosen satan as their god.
As for me and my family, my wish is for Joshua 24:15 to be our unanimous choice. As a Karen Peck song on YouTube says, “I choose Christ”. Making the choice before the Rapture makes the most sense. It’s a free-will decision that has eternal results. To decide not to choose Jesus is also a free-will choice, but the outcome will be the Lake of Fire as given in Revelation 20:11-15.
There are no other options to choose, no matter what satan would have you believe. His demons and false prophets and antichrists are working in overtime mode to try to pull as many souls away from Jesus as they can because they see the “writing on the wall”. God will not lie to you (Titus 1:2), and satan will not tell you any truths.
At the call, those who are true believers will all say just before they come into the presence of our Lord, “Yes, I Can Hear You Now!!” Then, if you listen to the words of the song, “I can only imagine”, you will only get a glimpse of what that time will be like. For the first time in my life, I may actually not have anything to say. Join with us; the way is described in Romans 10: 9-13. The last verse is the most important, “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Call today.
Maranatha! (come Lord Jesus)
