Bible Irrelevant?

Bible Irrelevant?
By Dennis Huebshman

Which part(s) of the Bible do you believe have become irrelevant in today’s world? There are many variations to the answer for this question, and most authors believe their point of view is the correct one. It should be noted though, there are some who distort the word purposefully for their own reasons.

Just to be certain, since the very beginning, God’s word has been attacked, and attempts made to discredit it. In Genesis 3, the very first attack was launched by a fallen angel – satan. He started out with, “Did God really say?”. Thing is, he knew very well that God does not put out words just to hear Himself speak. Satan still uses the same question today to cause people to stumble and fall, and unfortunately it’s still working.

Before going too far, let’s look at 2 Timothy 3:16, “Every scripture is inspired by God, and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” Titus 1:2 and Hebrews 6:18 both tell us “God cannot lie”, and “It is impossible for God to lie.” If we are going to believe anything about the Bible, these scriptures, that were given by Holy Spirit-led authors, should stick in our minds. (1 Peter 1:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21) (all emphasis mine.)

Until his time is up (Revelation 20:10), satan will never cease trying to outdo our Savior and causing people to turn away from the true word of the Father. Peter warned that satan prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) With the atmosphere turning away from and against Christianity, he is recruiting a lot of willing souls for his evil purposes. Jesus, Paul, Peter, John and others all warned the false prophets and antichrists would increase in the last days.

God’s chosen people are the Israelites, and this has never changed. For them to be saved from the Lake of Fire, they had to accept Him “pre-cross”, and Jesus (Yeshua) “post-cross”. We are in the Church-age which refers to all “believers”, not a particular organized denomination. This age is rapidly coming to an end, and God will again turn His full attention to His chosen for the 7-year tribulation. (Romans 11:25) Their suffering is described in various chapters of the Bible, and Zechariah 13:8 says about 2/3 will be killed. A remnant will be saved to greet the Savior on the day of His actual touch-earth return. At that time, All will know Jesus as their Messiah.

There are pastors today, and even some from large denominations, that say Christians have replaced the Jews as God’s chosen. When Jesus died on the cross, the Church-age began, but in addition to God’s chosen, not instead of. When God made His covenant with Abraham, it was eternal, and will carry over past the Millennium into eternity. It was based on following God’s will and not worshiping idols. The ones who refused to obey God will be in eternal torment.

Also, the Christian’s covenant is eternal, based on the acceptance of the perfect sacrifice of the Lamb of God; Lion of the Tribe of Judah. His blood was shed to cover our sins, but only if accepted by confessing to the Savior we have sinned, and thank Him for the gift of eternal Salvation that only He could provide. We must believe that His sacrifice is complete and final, and He is the only way to the Father. (John 14:6) He died as fully human on that cross, and was the only one who ever lived a complete sinless life while here. God the Father brought Him back to life in a now-forever body, and with His death, burial and resurrection, conquered sin and death once and for all. (Romans 10:9) He was always still fully God, but as Hebrews says, became lower than the angels for a time, until the sacrifice was completed.

The main stipulation is each person has to accept this free gift, and ask Jesus to be their Savior. Personally, I don’t believe that’s too much to ask, considering He suffered and died for My Sins! God will turn no one away who calls on His Son for forgiveness, but anyone who doesn’t is responsible for their own sins, and are condemned. No other human could ever provide a sacrifice that would satisfy God. For those who believe they have not sinned, Romans 3:23 is there to contradict them.

For those who say the Bible is outdated, and just a bunch of old stories, how do they explain all the fulfilled prophecies to the exact detail, and the only remaining ones are about the end time? When something is 100% accurate in every way, it could only be true instructions from our Creator for us to follow.

There are no difficult or harsh rituals to perform; no works to be done; no certain number of prayers daily to an impersonal god; no continued sacrifice that may or may not be pleasing to the deity. Our God is a “Love-Based” Heavenly Father (John 3:16) who truly wants us to be with Him for all eternity. (2 Peter 3:9) No other so-called religion has such a personal relationship with their deity.

We were told the happenings just before the return of our Savior to take His church home would be just as they are today. The love for God and each other is declining as “self” is becoming the most important aspect of people’s lives. Because of pride, satan and his demons fell, and this is the main reason God hates it so much.

Our pride is in Jesus the Christ for being willing to die for us without being forced (John 10:18); and He loves us in a most perfect and Holy way. He knows there will be few on that straight and narrow way, compared to the total population through the ages to the present. (Matthew 7:13:14) However, He gave His all for us, so we could have it all.

Stick to the true word from the Father’s Bible to us, and you can’t go wrong. False prophets and antichrists are increasing in number, so be cautious of who you put your trust in. Use the Scriptures as your guide.

As the song says, “Spread the tidings all around; Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves!” All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13)

Maranatha!
