False Prophets – Pants On Fire!
By Dennis Huebshman
Proverbs 12:17, “The faithful witness tells what is right, but a false witness speaks deceit.” (any emphasis mine)
Proverbs 19:5, “A false witness will not go unpunished, and the one who spouts out lies will not escape punishment.”
Jeremiah 23:16, “the Lord who rules over all says to the people of Jerusalem, so not listen to what those prophets are saying to you. They are filling you with false hopes. They are reporting visions of their own imagination, not something the Lord has given them to say.”
Ezekiel 13:7, “Have you not seen a false vision and announced a lying omen when you say, ‘the Lord declares’, although I myself never spoke?”
Matthew 7:15, “Watch for false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are voracious wolves.”
Matthew 24:11, “And many false prophets will appear and deceive many.”
2 Corinthians 11:13-15, “For such people are false prophets, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as “apostles of Christ”. (14) And no wonder, for even satan disguises himself as an angel of light. (15) Therefore, it is not surprising his servants (demons) also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their actions.”
2 Thessalonians 2:11, “Consequently, God sends on them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false.”
2 Peter 2:1, “But false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies, even to the point of denying the Master (Jesus) who bought them. As a result, they will bring swift destruction on themselves.”
1 John 2:18-22; 4:3; 2 John 1:7, “Children, it is the last hours, and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming, (the final one of Daniel and Revelation) so now many antichrists have appeared. We know from this that it is the last hours. (22) Who is the liar but the person that denies that Jesus is the Christ. This one is the antichrist; the person who denies the Father and Son. (4:3) …but every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now is already in the world. (2 John 1:7) For many deceivers have gone out into the world, people who do not confess Jesus as the Christ coming in the flesh. This person is the deceiver, and the antichrist.”
There are many more verses throughout the Bible warning of, and describing false prophets, antichrists and false gods. They are all the same to the Heavenly Father, and are an abomination to Him. They will all be handled at the proper time, and those involved will be in eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire. (Revelation 19:20; 20:11-15)
This is nothing new, and has been here since the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3 tells about man’s fall from grace, and into sin, because of lies from the ultimate evil one. The very first lie satan used on Eve is still being used today, and sadly, still effective. “Did God really say?”, followed by “Surely, you will not die.”
Just a few personal notes; when I first read God’s word from cover to cover at about 40 years of age, I found out there were things I had been told was in there, but weren’t. Also, some things I was not told about, I found were there. Since the first complete read-through, I have gone through His Love Letter in various interpretations. (KJV, New KJV, New American Standard, and now English Standard Version) I read daily, and still find things I either missed before, or after asking the Holy Spirit for enlightenment, have discovered new meanings. I am convinced I will still be leaning from His word and true meanings right up to the Rapture.
For any message I give, I strive for absolute truth. James 3:1 is a warning I take very seriously, “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, because you know we will be judged more strictly.” This does not mean I will never make a mistake as I am human; but will acknowledge when it happens, and give a correction. I will never distort God’s word for any personal gain whatsoever.
There are those today who purposely misuse the Word of the Lord, and as a result will fall under the discipline of the Father. In the past, people could be confident that if they attended a particular denomination’s service, they would all be very similar world-wide. There may have been regional differences, yet the same word was being presented.
Very subtlety, but with increasing speed, even evangelical churches are changing to accommodate man’s wishes, rather than teach the truth. People don’t like to hear about sin, hell or any form of what they believe to be negative. To keep attendance and offerings up, so-called ministers are giving ear-tickling messages about what a good God we have (which we do), and He will provide whatever you ask for. (Prosperity Preaching) If you don’t happen go get what you think He should supply, you’re told you just don’t have enough faith. Also, there are some who say there is no hell, and if there was, our God would never send anyone there permanently.
Paul gives a very good warning in Galatians that everyone who proclaims to be a messenger from the Father should pay heed to. Galatians 1:8-10, “But even if we, or an angel from Heaven, should preach a Gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell! (9) As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone is preaching a Gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell! (10) Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ”.
This is conveniently overlooked by those who like to take scriptures out of context, and offer it as the truth. Exotic stage productions, mother earth scenarios, upbeat music and other entertainment does not belong in God’s house Sadly, in some so-called churches, God is not even allowed. Parishioners are told there’s many ways to heaven, and we all worship the same god. Also, Jesus was a good man and a prophet, but not really the Son of God. Antichrists are running many of the “religious” places today.
There are now churches of satan and satanic statues being placed in public in various places. Anything that contains any reference to the Savior or any Christian symbol is being condemned. True believers who have accepted Jesus as Savior are becoming fewer and fewer.
Yes, there are some places around the world where Christianity is growing. However, in Europe, Canada and America, the numbers are declining. We are at the point where all end times prophecy has been fulfilled except for the Rapture and Tribulation. Events leading up to both have shifted into high gear.
There have been active antichrists ever since the cross, and are spoken of in the Bible. Today, they’re more out in the open than ever before. The stage is being set for the one-world government that will be run by the ultimate man of evil.
Rather than be fearful of the present times, believers need to be getting ready to go Home. Anyone who has not accepted Jesus as their Savior is gambling with their eternal souls. If a person passes from life to death on this earth without Jesus, they will ultimately end up in the Lake of Fire with all the false prophets, antichrists, demons and satan himself.
The good news is, “All who call on the name of the Lord WILL be saved.” (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13) Believe Jesus came to this earth and became the perfect sacrifice for our sins; ask for His forgiveness as we have all sinned (Romans 3:23); believe He died on the cross and God raised Him from the dead to conquer sin and death. (Romans 10:9) From that moment on, you will pass from condemnation to having the Holy Spirit live within you. (Romans 8:1 and John 16:7)
When the call comes (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-52), you will leave this sin-filled world to be with Jesus forever. Right no w would not be too early to call on Him – He’s listening. Tomorrow could be too late.
