Who Do You Trust?

Who Do You Trust?
By Dennis Huebshman

From September, 1957 to December, 1963, there was a TV game show called, “Who Do You Trust?”. The host for all but the last year was a young comedian by the name of Johnny Carson. Remember Him? Anyway, contestants were presented with tasks, and husband and wife teams had to decide which spouse could best do the task. Many of the scenarios were hilarious, and I remember watching the program on our 19” Black and White TV.

However, the Trust in this message is not a TV game, or any other such production. This one has to do with your life on this earth, and what happens afterwards. The two main entities are the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), and satan and his demons. (Emphasis is mine)

First, it has to be established who will you believe and Trust. John 8:44, Jesus is having serious issues, as usual, with the religious leaders of His day. They are accusing Him of being born as a result of immorality. He tells them, “You people are from your father, the devil, and you want to do what your father demands. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar, and the father of lies.”

What are some of satan’s lies that are still working today? “Did God Really Say…”. This one started in the Garden of Eden, and is still being used by false prophets and anti-christs who are twisting the True Word of the Lord. They take people who do not really want to know the truth, but want told to them what they want to hear. More lies are, “There are many ways to heaven.”, “we all worship the same god”, “what God called abominations does not apply today”, and of course, “Jesus was a good man and a prophet, but not the Son of God.” Fact Check: God doesn’t change His mind on any of this. What is written is what He meant.

How about, “…your sins cannot be forgiven; they are just too awful for God to forgive you.” Fact Check again: 1 John 1:8-10; 2:1-2, “If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (to stop here would sound like we’re helplessly lost) (9) But, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from (get this point) All Unrighteousness. (10) If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. (2:1) My little children, I am writing these things so that you may not sin. But, if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, (2) and He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins, but also for the whole world.” (ESV Bible)

In 1 John 2:1 above, it says, “if anyone does sin…”. To expand on this, Paul said in Romans 3:23 that “All have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God.” Romans 10:9 gives step-by-step instructions as to what one must do and believe to be saved. Follow this, and God promises “You will be saved.”. The main question is this; who do you trust? Satin who tells no truth; or the Father who tells no lies (Titus 1:2 and Hebrews 6:18).

In the event satan has it on your mind that your sins cannot be forgiven, think about one specific fact; how many sins had you committed before Jesus paid for them on the Cross? There is one sin that will not be forgiven and that is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. (Mark 3:29; Luke 12:10). The one who commits this is telling God they don’t trust His word about Jesus, and that they don’t believe what God said is true. In other words, all the messages given by the Holy Spirit inspired writers in the Bible are lying. In this case, they are accepting satan’s version, and not God’s and this is a direct link to the Lake of Fire. To die without accepting Jesus as Savior is the unforgiveable sin.

God has a perfect record of prophecy coming true throughout the Bible. Everything that has to be done right up to the Rapture and start of the Tribulation has been completed. Just by coming to this earth in human form, Jesus fulfilled over 100 Old Testament prophecies. By the time He completed the perfect sacrifice on the cross, many more were completed. The final stages are set to complete all that our Heavenly Father said would happen. Just watching the news today is seeing the Bible passages come to life. Even the faux news is doing their part to complete the lead-in to the Rapture. (Matthew 24:3-13; 2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Has satan ever fulfilled any of his so-called prophecies? Only that in every manner shape and form he has tried to cause God’s promises to fail; yet, in every instance he is the failure. The story of Job is a classic example. No matter what God allowed satan to throw at Job, Job trusted in the Lord.

Sad part, there are scores of people who are accepting satan’s lies and are “giving” themselves to him. There are even “churches of satan” springing up around the country today, which I never believed would be possible. Satanic organizations are trying to shut down anything that relates to Jesus or any form of Christianity. Freedom From Religion is one of them that is in the news on a regular basis. People are putting their faith, trust and eternal souls on the line in the belief that somehow satan is going to ultimately defeat Jesus. I believe God is already supplying a delusion to people that He knows will not turn to Him. (2 Thessalonians 2:11)

God’s word can be trusted, and even secular science has proven the Bible to be accurate time and time again. At one time, there was even doubt that Pontius Pilate was a real person; yet archeologists uncovered evidence that he was real. The same with King David. Some people tried to say he was just a mythological person, but again archeological digs found artifacts with his seal on them.

It all comes down to Faith and Trust. There are many (Matthew 7:13-14) who will never allow themselves to believe God or Jesus exists, and the evil one has full control over them. God has allowed them the free-will to choose, and He knows who will not change, even though He will give them every opportunity to do so (2 Peter 3:9). The atmosphere in our country today is one of hate for anyone who speaks out against the minority that wants to force their abominations on everyone. People with satan-inspired power and evil intent will do all they can to shut the Christians down, as we are seen as a threat to their lifestyle. The intolerant ones accuse us of being intolerant.

We do not know the day or hour, but all the “seasonal” signs are there that Jesus said we are to be aware of. Our Trust is that God’s word is true and that 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 are right on the cusp of being fulfilled. Once the Rapture occurs, the anti-christians will celebrate for a short period of time until the final anti-christ and false prophet take over. There will be 7 years of increasing wrath from the Father, and a whole lot of death and misery.

Those who have put their trust in God will not be a part of this. It will be a time of rewards and a banquet called, “The Marriage Supper Of The Lamb.”. There’s room at the table for all who call on the name of Jesus, before the Rapture. To wait until the last minute will be too late. As I shared in a previous message, the entire Rapture event takes place in less than one second. Right now would not be too soon to accept Jesus and trust that when you do, His sacrifice has saved you. Tomorrow may be too late.

Maranatha!
