Life is NOT what you think it is!

When my parents were alive and I was very young, they were most concerned about keeping the perspective of Life alive, that involved them and their three children, as a whole. And I remember my Mom and Dad discussing things together, and yes, there were times when they argued. The point I am trying to make here is this. That Generation of people had been taught to discuss their differences, to come to common ground and work it out. What they discussed was always about them and others.

One of the reasons that I am always showing that idea “It’s all about ME!”, is because that way of thinking is prevalent everywhere today. The “Greatest Generation” was concerned about this United States as a whole, as a People. What is everyone thinking about now days? “ME!!” And that is the name of that tune! And you know that is the truth!

So when we think about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, what manner of thinking does HE want you and I to adopt in our lives? To live and think and do for others! That brings a conflict, into how everyone is thinking today, wouldn’t you say? And the basis for the way people think today is what? “It’s all about ME!!” Accepting this is true, means you understand, that way of thinking is against the Lord, is against everything HE tries to teach us.

So why is that everyone has the same “Mindset”? That is simple to answer, they think only of themselves. Thus, they are in direct conflict with God and if you think that same way, then YOU are against God. If you think differently, then you need to read the Bible and ask yourself, How does God think? God became a man, Jesus Christ, HE came here to earth and lived doing for everyone else and did nothing for himself. Then HE hung on a Cruel Roman Cross and died and bleed for you and I, HE did not do that for himself.

Matthew 22:36-40 “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

When you read the bible, you will find that everything in it, is about you and I and everyone else…together! God created Heaven to be for all of us, God created the Earth to be for all of us, there is nothing about God, that has anything to do with “It’s all about ME!!” Understanding that, means that you undertand the concept, there is no room for thinking as an Individual…Except…according to your Relationship with Jesus Christ. That part is strickly between YOU and the LORD! Notice though, it is still NOT about just YOU, it includes the LORD.

The old Testament is full of stories of things that took place, but it is still about people as a whole. So if the Bible is about people as a whole, then WE must be about people as a whole. As I stated before, the only exception to that rule, is about you and your relationship with Jesus Christ. In that concept, where does “It’s all about ME!!” come into play, where do you find anything like it in the Bible? It will never be like that in the Bible! That is the exact point of what I am talking about here!

If that is the case in the Bible, then we understand why our Parents generation was called the “Greatest Generation”. They were the last generation to be concerned with people as a whole, as a nation concerned as a whole. Thus the name of that people “The Greatest Generation”. What other reason is there, for that distinction? This points out where we today…have failed as a whole!

Stop and think of it for a moment and it will make so much sense. We go to school for an education, yet, we are not concerned with making others our prime directive, we want the big Bucks for ourselves. So our parents, did not impress upon us, that we should put others ahead of ourselves. Thus, we find we are against God and what HE teaches us in the Bible! Sad fact to understand, right?

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

The passage above is for “All of us”, where is the Individuality in this? That passage is full of “Us’s and We’s…that is again the point! When you begin to truly read and understand the Word of God, you will quickly come to the conclusion that Salvation is on an Individual basis, yet as a New Creature according to Gods Word, it becomes about all of us. Therefore, if the Word of God is about all of us, then the idea “Everything is about just ME”…is against God! At that point, where has this Individuality thing come from? You are exactly right…satan and his ilk! You must admit, it’s something important to think about!

If the Word of God, is not enough to convince of this fact, then maybe real life can be you example. Is a skyscraper built by one person, or does it require an Army of men? That answer is very obvious, an Army of men is required. Is an interstate highway for only one car, or for many cars and trucks? Is a farmer successful only for himself, or does he require a market? Is Israel the “Apple of Gods eye” because there is only one Jew, or is it an entire Nation of people? And what of the USA? Is it not the same thing, as with any Nation, for the good of all the people of that Nation? If all these things are true, then how important is the Individual in comparison? I beleive you get my point here.

If we humans were created to be “Social Beings” then why is it so important for anyone to be THE individual? Then, if it’s about what WE like or what WE want, then where does that leave the Individual? The Individual then is religated to being the Flea among a Brood of Fleas and the Individual is no longer important. It is the same in the Bible, the Individual comes to Jesus Christ and Gives up his life and everything in it and becomes an adopted Son or Daughter…in a Family of Believers.

Therefore, the “It’s all about ME!!” idea, is in direct conflict with God and HIS Holy Word the Bible and it is now understood, to be against Society as well. If Individuality exists anywhere, it is ONLY in YOUR mind and then YOU miss the entire concept of Life as we know it to truly be. The individual is nothing!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
