Living Near the End of the World

Living Near the End of the World
By Chris Schang

Living near the end of the world believers should eagerly anticipate and seek the Lord’s return, not the things of this world. Jesus said while he was on earth, that his kingdom was not of this world. When a person becomes a believer they are much like Jesus, they realize that their lives and possessions in the world are absolutely nothing compared with the things that are eternal in Heaven. The signs of the end times are all around us, the Bible gives us an outline that is very precise and for those left on the earth after the pre-trib rapture of the church they will know exactly what to expect and what to look for as the world spirals out of control.

One of the most important things people should be doing while living near the end of days is to be spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone and to all. Nothing is more important than the Gospel message and the chance to save lost souls before the rapture. Once the rapture happens, things will chance for the worse on Earth. People will have to revert to an Old Testament means of salvation where they will have to work to maintain their faith in Jesus, rather than the current means of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Believers should also strive to live a life of righteousness and holiness, yet these are not works done to maintain salvation. These works are simply done to show our appreciation and sincerity to Jesus for his work on the Cross. The Bible declares that today’s salvation is a gift of God, not a work, lest any man boast that he has earned his own salvation.

The Bible tells us that while we will not face the wrath of God, as believers have the promise of the blessed hope of the rapture of the church. The Bible does tell us that we will face trials and tribulations in this life and that despite these things our eternal destiny is secured in Jesus Christ. As a result, we can live our lives without fear and in reflection of Jesus’ self sacrifice. We have the freedom of living and spending our lives for the sake of Jesus and his message of the Cross.

It is clear that Jesus is the basis for our hope in this world and in our future. While we live in the time near the end of the world as we know it, we live for Christ and his soon return. In the meantime we are to reflect his love and goodwill towards our fellow man. The Bible gives one of the greatest commandments as to love others. We should strive to do that during the end times in which we live as the world grows colder to the word of the Bible. And grows colder to the love of God. While we are in the world, we are the salt of the world. We are to help keep the world from fully perishing as we preach and teach the Word of God to every living things in the world. This one of the reasons Jesus started the church was to spread the good news that the redemption of mankind and the Creation in general was on the way. for this we have much to happy for and to live for. Whether by death or by rapture, our eternal security is secure in Jesus Christ.

While we move closer and closer to greater calamity, we should rely and lean on the promises of the Bible. God can not lie, and he can’t change his mind about the promises he has already made. As the world spirals towards the end of the world as we know it, we should live in rock solid faith of our eternal life promised to us through Jesus Christ. The world is perishing, yet there are many who need to continue to hear the Word of God. One of the things that is interesting about living in our time is that even people who are not saved are beginning to notice the change going on around us. As the earthquakes and natural disaster increase in intensity and frequency, the world senses that something is not the same. for this reason it is is imperative that we continue to tell the world the Good News that comes from the Bible. That we continue to preach the completed work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. The eternal security of many souls is at stake. The evil one tries to distract us and keep us from our mission to take the Gospel to all the world. The evil one knows that the longer people don’t make a decision for Christ, the closer they are to sharing his eternal fate in the lake of fire. For this reason, I encourage you fellow believers to continue on with the task at hand and seek the eternal rewards of Heaven instead of the corruptible things of this world.

God bless.
