But For God

But For God
By Dennis Huebshman

How many people, I wonder, are wringing their hands in view of all the events of the day and worrying about where it’s all going to end. Headline today is the radical left is about to get very violent. For believers in Jesus and in the Holy Word given to us by the Father, it’s as I have said before and have heard other pastors comment, “It’s an exciting time!” (all emphasis is mine.)

This is not to say any of us enjoy watching all the turmoil over the breakdown of our country and the strife all over the world. However, we’re seeing prophecy unfold right before our eyes. Nothing that is going on was not covered by Jesus in Matthew 24 and by Paul in 2 Timothy. Peter spoke of evil times such as this and in 1 John, he refers to the “anti-christs” that were (and are) in the world. Other prophets in the Old Testament and New alike made reference to what would be happening right about now, and their prophecies were made thousands of years ago.

Were all these people clairvoyant who had a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact? (dictionary definition not mine) Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16 that, “Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness.” Every word from “In the beginning” in Genesis 1:1 through “The Grace of the Lord Jesus be with all” in Revelation 22:21, is given to us through the Holy Spirit to inspired writers that passed on what they were given. The words have withstood all tests for all the centuries and more and more the Bible is being proven to be true even by the secular world.

The other day, I heard a pastor make the statement, “God’s word is clear; His judgment is near”. Just as 2 Peter 3:3-4 writes that people were asking “OK, where is He? It’s been said over and over He’s coming, but it hasn’t happened yet.” (paraphrased) Going to 2 Peter 3:3-9, we’re told God is not slow about His judgments because a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years like a day. I believe two things are keeping us here right now. God has a certain number or a certain person or a certain event that needs to take place before Romans 11:25 occurs. That’s when the “Fullness of the Gentiles” happens which should be the moment of the Rapture. Remember, God made time for us and He’s not bound by it as we are. Also, Peter tells us God does not want anyone to be lost.

Second, I believe God is giving the world multiple signs that were spoken of, and by doing so is giving everyone another opportunity to call out to Jesus for their salvation. Whatever the reason, just as He did with Noah when He shut the door of the ark and the flood started immediately, and immediately after removing Lot, his wife and daughters from Sodom He destroyed that city along with Gomorrah, the time will arrive, and the True Believers will be taken up to meet Jesus in the air/clouds. The rest of the world will suffer even worse times than what we’re seeing right now.

Judgment is coming no matter what the “good news” preachers are saying. Is this something new that just started a few years ago? In Jeremiah 6:13-14 the prophet talks about “prophets and priests” alike being greedy for dishonest gain, and saying “Everything is all right” when everything is not. Ezekiel 13:10-16 tells almost the same thing. Considering they both were here around 600-570 BC, we can see the “ear-tickling” isn’t all that new. It’s just getting more refined and unfortunately is spreading faster than the true word. People are eager to hear the “good news” even if it isn’t the Lord’s Problem is, judgment is coming and all good news that doesn’t lead to Jesus will not count.

People believe God would not send anyone to hell or any form of eternal punishment because He’s a just God. Yes, God is just and because of this He must judge by the truth of His word or He would otherwise be unjust. His judgment is to accept those who have accepted Him before the cross, and ALL who have accepted His Son Jesus since the cross. He will not be unjust and force anyone against their free will to accept the free gift of salvation. What ever reward those who do not accept have on this earth would be all they will ever receive before being condemned to the Lake of Fire.

We’re being told that President Trump has a team in the middle east on a “pre-treaty mission”. They are speaking to countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and others about a possible acceptable peace plan. They will also be talking to Prime Minister Netanyahu. No matter what they come up with, if it involves Israel giving up any part of Jerusalem or territory that would prevent them from being able to protect themselves, it will not work. The “Palestinian” nations are saying they will only accept an agreement that would not include the right of Israel to exist. Question is how many other nations would allow the outside world to come in and tell them how they are to use their lands and what is going to be done with it? Only Israel is expected to comply. Point is, only Israel is on “God-Granted” land and even then, only a fraction of what He gave them.

We know from scripture, that eventually Israel will be attacked by a coalition led by Russia, Turkey and Iran. The rest of the world – America included – will sit back and watch. What they will witness is the Lord God Jehovah fulfilling a covenant that will destroy the attacking forces. Then, a treaty will be made for a 7-year period of time, and the author of that treaty will be the final anti-christ.

This is another reason for the excitement among the Believers. Before the anti-christ can appear, that which is holding him back must be removed. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-8). It is believed the only thing to hold him back would be the Holy Spirit, and if the Holy Spirit is removed, so must all those He indwells must be removed in order to keep the promise of the Father to not have the Believers go through the wrath. Therefore, before the actions of the tribulation goes down, we must go up.

There is nothing super-secret about all of this. The bible tells us how to avoid the wrath. John 14:6 – “Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by me.” Next, Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13 say, “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9-10, “… because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (10) For with the heart one believes, and this has righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, and they have salvation.

To say one has to do anything else, is saying the sacrifice of Jesus wasn’t enough and therefore was unnecessary. Remember, “Jesus paid it ALL, ALL to Him I owe.” God loves us that much and Jesus is also God. He loved us with the cross, and wants you and I to spend eternity with Him. (John 3:16) It’s completely yours to freely receive or reject. For those who accept Jesus, In John 10:28 he said, “I give them eternal life and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my Hand.” Call on Him today before it becomes too late.

Maranatha!
