Presently there is an unprecedented American sponsored push for peace in the Middle East. Secretary of State John Kerry is redefining “Shuttle Diplomacy” by making frequent visits to the Holy Land. Alongside the Obama Administration, the United Nations and the Arab League appear to be united in a consensus that this is a historic window of opportunity to resolve the longstanding Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Collectively from distant continents they are all encouraging Israel to accept the Saudi Peace Initiative formulated in 2002.

Should Israel ultimately agree to the lopsided terms of this plan, which strongly favors Israel’s Muslim Arab foes, attempting to implement this peace plan could cost America dearly. It’s a slippery slope on several fronts and it is not biblically endorsed. Why it’s damaging to America is a primary focus of this article.

Why the Arab Peace Plan is Unbiblical

It is important to understand why this Arab initiative is utterly unbiblical. There are at least three primary reasons identified below. These biblical precepts entirely override the main criterion set forth in the Saudi Peace plan. This Arab peace initiative, as it is also often referred to, calls for Israel to forfeit much of the Promised Land that it acquired in 1967, which included Jerusalem. Moreover, the plan decrees that Jerusalem, which is not mentioned once in the Koran, but over 1000 times by seventy different names in the Bible, becomes the capital of a newly formed Palestinian state.

The first problem concerns the land in question. It is part of the biblical Promised Land that was allotted to Abraham and his Israeli descendants, and that is non-negotiable.

“In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.” (Genesis 15:18, kjv)

Secondly, the holy city of Jerusalem is promised to become a burdensome stone to all nations that attempt to rezone it.

“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” (Zechariah 12:3, kjv).

Thirdly, The Lord has His own comprehensive Mideast peace plan in place, and it differs drastically from the Arab plan.

“Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbors, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them [Arabs] out of their [Israelis] land, and pluck out the house of Judah [Jews] from among them. And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man [Jew and Arab] to his heritage, and every man to his land. And it shall come to pass, if they [Arabs] will diligently learn the ways of my people, [Israelis] to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people. But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 12:14-17, kjv).

Why these three important passages of scripture adversely affect all geo-political attempts to divide the Promised Land is exposited upon in greater detail in my book called “Psalm 83 – The Missing Prophecy Revealed, How Israel Becomes the Next Mideast Superpower.”

Additionally, the Saudi Peace Initiative calls for the “right of return” of the Palestinian refugees who are scattered throughout numerous refugee camps in the Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. These refugees are to be assimilated into a new Arab state named Palestine, and in some instances within the borders of Israel.

Israel’s legitimate concerns are that forfeiting land makes their borders indefensible. The Israelis also claim Jerusalem as the city of their forefathers. Furthermore, the Jews are concerned about hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees moving inside their borders. These refugees generally oppose the very existence of the Jewish state and this is evidenced by the fact that most of their school textbooks don’t include a state of Israel, and the Hamas doesn’t even recognize Israel’s right to exist.

Why the Arab Plan is bad for America

There is a fourth and bigger biblical reason why the Saudi Peace Plan is problematic and this is what Americans need to be concerned with. It is regarding the divine foreign policy of Genesis 12:3 constituted by God over 4,000 years ago. This guiding principle clearly specifies that how a nation treats Abraham and his descendants determines whether that nation is blessed or accursed.

“And I will bless them that bless thee, [Abraham and his descendants] and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (Gen. 12:3, kjv).

Presently President Barak Obama is following the same failed footsteps of his presidential predecessors, George H. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, by attempting to broker Promised Land for illusive peace between the Arabs and Jews. Two-state-solutions and land-for-peace deals are exactly what the Arab foes of Israel desire. Shrinking the Jewish state and relocating scores of Anti-Semitic Palestinians closer to the borders of Israel presents the Arabs with a strategic military advantage. It’s likened to putting the fox into the hen-house.

By pressuring Israel to trade land for peace with those that hate the Jewish state, America is at the forefront of those cursing Abraham’s Israeli descendants. The outcome of such behavior puts Americans at risk of being cursed much like they were when hurricane Katrina struck on the heels of American demands for Israel to pull out of the Gaza area in the summer of 2005.

President Bush convinced Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to withdraw from the Gaza. This almost created a civil war within Israel and when the last Jewish settler was forcefully removed, the Katrina storm clouds formed over the gulf. Shortly thereafter, Sharon slipped into a coma, Bush’s popularity began to wane, and the Hamas became the democratically elected party of the Palestinians. Bill Koenig, in his book called “Eye to Eye,” masterfully points out that what America does to Israel directly affects whether the United States is blessed or cursed.

Why America Became a Superpower

Dr. David Reagan points out in his book “America the Beautiful” the biblical model for how the Lord deals with the nations. He outlines the following important points.

1. God establishes nations and defines their boundaries (Acts 17:26).

2. God determines when a nation will cease to exist.

3. God has a purpose for each nation, both general and specific.

4. God blesses and disciplines nations in accordance with their obedience to Him and their treatment of the Jewish people. (Genesis 12:3).

5. God holds nations in contempt because of their pride and rebellion and because they serve as idols.

The Lord had at least a three-fold purpose for the existence of the United States and because the nature of His purposes were no easy undertaking, He blessed the country with un-paralleled freedom and prosperity and immense power and worldwide influence. As such, America became the greatest superpower state the world has ever known.

America was to be a safe-haven for the Jews during their persecution in the Diaspora and was also positioned to be the primary instrumental nation concerning the heavily prophesied rebirth of the nation of Israel. In both instances America rose to the occasion. President Harry S. Truman was a key political leader involved with the rebirth of Israel in 1948 and today it is estimated that there are over five-million Jews living in America. The nearest nation hosting a sizeable Jewish population, apart from Israel, is France with about 483,500 Jews. (I)

Additionally, America was anointed to become a beacon of Christianity to the world. Missionaries from America preached the gospel on distant shores in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, perhaps proclaiming the gospel more than any other people in history. But many Americans became enamored with their wealth and power and began turning their back on God. Essentially in the past several decades the Lord has been booted out of almost every aspect of American culture.

Sadly, striking similarities presently exist between the late great British Empire and America. The UK is but a fragment of what it once was and if the USA continues to disobey its sovereign callings like Great Britain did, then the sun will surely set upon its superpower status.

Why the Sun Always Sets on the British Empire

Alluding to the rise of the British Empire, George Macartney wrote in 1773 “this vast empire on which the sun never sets, and whose bounds nature has not yet ascertained.” Subsequently, over the next century and-a-half, the British Empire became the world’s greatest empire, and achieved the crowning title of “The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire.”

“By 1922 the British Empire held sway over about 458 million people, one-fifth of the world’s population at the time, and covered more than 33,700,000 km (13,012,000 sq. miles), almost a quarter of the Earth’s total land area.” (ii)

One of the primary reasons the British Empire rose to superpower status was because it was called upon by God to rebirth the nation of Israel. The Lord knew that this would be no easy geo-political undertaking and would require that a world power be put into place in order to accomplish this miraculous feat. The reestablishment of the nation of Israel was prophesied in numerous Scriptures like, Ezekiel 36:22-24, 37:11-13, 38:8, 39:25-28, Jeremiah 23:7-8, Isaiah 11:11-12 and elsewhere.

A superpower had to be firmly in place for Israel to be rebirthed because at the time the Promised Land was under the dominion of the Ottoman Empire (1517-1917). Complicating matters, many Arabs residing throughout the region harbored an ancient hatred of the Jews, even though the preponderance of the Jewish population was amalgamated within the world nations during the centuries old Diaspora.

The Ottoman Empire collapsed after its defeat in WWI and subsequently the Middle East Arabs began reclaiming their states: Egypt (1922), Saudi Arabia and Iraq (1932), Lebanon (1943), Syria and Jordan (1946). Things were fitting perfectly into sovereign alignment with the Jeremiah 12:14-17 Mideast peace plan previously mentioned. Arabs were being plucked out of the would-be Jewish state and the Jews were beginning to be plucked out of the newly forming Arab states.

However, absent from the list of states above was the Jewish state. This is because the British Empire failed to fulfill its sovereign mandate, which was to establish the nation of Israel. Great Britain and France were given authority over the reshaping of the Middle East and it was Britain’s responsibility to allot a sizeable portion of land dedicated for a Jewish state.

The Balfour Declaration was drafted in 1917 and ratified as international law at the San Remo conference in 1920. This declaration designated the territory formerly called Transjordan, which included modern-day Israel (9,942 sq. miles)iv and Jordan (34,445 sq. miles),v as the land for the Jewish state.

History points out that the British Empire failed to implement the establishment of Israel and as a result of their national disobedience they were subjected to the cursing aspects of Genesis 12:3. This British blunder left the Jews without a homeland and rendered them an easy target for the horrendous events of the Nazi holocaust. Today the sun always sets on the British Empire. Within seventy years from 1920-1990, the UK diminished into a fragment of what it once was. Presently the UK consists of approximately 63 million people that reside on about 93,000 square miles of landmass.

Why the Sun is Setting on America’s Superpower Status

As a Christian nation, America accomplished all three of its primary purposes identified above. However, in June, 2008, prior to being elected president of the United States, Barack Obama said the following about America’s Christianity:

“Whatever we once were, we’re no longer a Christian nation. At least not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”

Some prophecy scholars believe that Barack Obama is the most anti-Israel, pro-abortion, and pro-homosexual president in American history. On January 20, 2009, did Americans inaugurate the president they deserved and was this point reinforced with his re-election on November 6, 2012? One way to know is by honestly asking the following questions:

1. Has money become America’s god?
2. Has greed become America’s motivator?
3. Has America kicked God out of its schools?
4. Has America legalized abortion?
5. Has America become the moral polluter of the earth?
6. Is America redefining the biblical meaning of marriage?
7. Are American states beginning to approve of same-sex marriages?
8. Has America turned its back on Israel?

If the honest answer to all the above questions is yes, then why wouldn’t Americans be experiencing serious remedial judgments like terrorism, natural disasters, mortgage meltdowns, economic collapse, and receiving the ungodly rulers they deserve?

Prophetic voices in America are sounding the alarm that America is presently positioned for national destruction. Lately, books about the USA with apocalyptic titles have been lining up on the bookstore shelves like: The Harbinger, by Jonathan Cahn, Implosion by Joel Rosenberg, The Late Great United States, by Dr. Mark Hitchcock, and The American Apocalypse, by Terry James.

Moreover, Hal Lindsey, the author of the bestselling book, The Late Great Planet Earth, declared forcefully in January, 2013 at the Future Congress Conference in Dallas:

“The Lord has one purpose for President Barack Obama, and that is to destroy this country. I’m telling you people that America is already gone, I’m not saying that it’s going, but that it’s already gone!”

Another noted Bible prophecy teacher, Dr. David Reagan, wrote in his May/June, 2013 Lamplighter magazine:

“I believe the trigger point for our nation occurred in Nov. 2012 when President Obama was re-elected. We have ignored the prophets and the remedial judgments. God has responded by giving us the kind of leader we deserve. We are now positioned to be delivered from Judgment to Destruction.”

Amos 3:7 declares, “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Is the Lord GOD about to do something, or allow something to be done to America? Is that why the above respected prophetic voices are revealing the dire condition of this country?

One of the most asked Bible prophecy questions in America these days is, “Where is America in the Bible?” Many of today’s top Bible scholars suggest that America may not be identified in the Scriptures. Why not? Does America the beautiful and once upon a time bountiful get destroyed? These are very troubling and real questions resonating within prophetic circles throughout the USA.

As one that has been intensively researching the coming climactic concluding Arab-Israeli war predicted over 3000 years ago in Psalm 83, it is my opinion that America’s fate now rests in the hands of the political leadership that will be in place when this Psalm prophecy finds final fulfillment. In my estimation, the Psalm 83 war is imminent and the Obama / Kerry team may be that political leadership. If they don’t bless Israel in this epic biblical battle, then they will likely seal the coffin on this country.

The Sun always sets on the British Empire today because they failed to fulfill their sovereign responsibility to reestablish the nation of Israel, and likewise, America stands at a similar crossroad when it comes to the coming Arab-Israeli war. What will be the outcome? Will America survive because it supports Israel, or will it fail to come alongside its greatest ally in the Middle East?
