Yesterday I posted a song by a big man who was not too big to praise his God in song in his car. I know it touched many of you.
Today I wanted to post a song by a very little girl ... with a big voice ... and an even bigger heart.
Her name is Rhema Marvanne. She is 8 years old. Her mother Wendi was a Christian and a singer. She died of ovarian cancer three years ago when Rhema was 5. When asked before she died what her greatest accomplishment had been in her life, Wendi replied, "Rhema." When asked her mom's greatest gift to her, Rhema replies, "Her voice. She left it for me."
Wendi went home to be with Jesus on November 8, 2008. Rhema and her father, Teton, continued to worship at The Branch Church in Plano, Texas. Almost one year later, on October 18, 2009 Rhema Marvanne was baptized there after accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Her story, her gospel songs, and her childlike faith always bring me to tears.
I pray Rhema's song causes you to once again consider just how much we need God in all we do; and may her story also cause you to recall just how near is His help and how tender is His love.
