Default If the rapture were to happen today

I wrote this poem that manifested itself in my head while mowing the lawn.
I had just had a disagreement with a brother in the Lord.

If the rapture were to happen today

What are the words you would say

To the brother or sister in Christ

Whom you closed the door on tonight?

If the rapture were to happen right now

Would your behavior in heaven be allowed?

To the brother or sister you hurt

Would you find the line drawn in the dirt?

If this were the last prayer before

You found you were on earth no more

Would your whispers be one of remorse

Or more in line with a curse?

If today were the last day you had

To put it all right before bed

Would you do everything still the same

And find others at fault and to blame?

Or would you kneel in retreat as a servant

And yield to the heavens above

Would your words be in reverence and wonder?

And simply fixed on the things that are love?

Would you be remembered for your kindness

    Your compassion and patience galore

Would the world say you were one to admire

Or someone that all should abhor?

Remember we add not one moment

To this time that we have hear on earth

So please chose your words and deeds wisely

So the world will rejoice of your birth!

    Thank you for sharing. :)

Have you talked to your brother in Christ yet?

Yes, everything is fine now. Thank you. Sorry, I should have added that.
After the Lord brought these words to my heart- how could I not call him right away?

Thank you. I was very blessed when the Lord helped me to see things in the right perspective.

I know that for myself, I always think that there is time but one day - that won't be true. So I am trying best not put off to tomorrow that which I know would honor our Lord and bury my pride right next to all the other things I keep putting in between the Lord's will and my heart.

It really is funny how - the whole time I am feeling justified in my anger I am not nearly as happy as I am the moment I put away my own personal pride and follow the Lord in obedience.

OH, boy, you just spoke to my heart. I spoke rather harshly to my daughter and then lectured her on how to get things right with God. I'm calling her right now. Thank you, Ruth. God's timing is amazing.
    Are we there yet?

It is a blessing all around to see the Lord touching each of our lives in such a great way. I am so humbled to be a part of it.

I know what you are saying. There are times my pride gets in the way. I say things I shouldn't. Then I feel terrible. Don't feel that joy and peace in my heart. My heart is getting convicted and there have been times I put my pride first. I won't apologize or repent but in the end I have to say I am sorry and pray to the Lord and ask for forgiveness. Then I feel that joy and peace in my heart again. I guess there are times I do forget the rapture could happen anytime. And I would be very ashamed when the Lord comes if I would be having one of my prideful moments.

You and many, many more of us sad to say. Let's pray that the Lord helps us with this big time!.

I know that I will be going along really well and then just when I lose it - is when an opportunity to witness crosses my path and the last thing that is shining is 'my little light.'

The longer I walk with Him, it has been getting easier but I am still falling down. Thank God for forgiveness and that our salvation is not up to us! But I really pray that am shining in His light when the rapture happens.

James 1:19 Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

James 1:20 For the wrath of man does not work out the righteousness of God.

Revelation 22:17a The Spirit and Bride are now saying, "Come!" The ones who hear are now saying, "Come!" The ones who thirst are now saying, "Come!"
    Come LORD Jesus !

Actually Buzz, while those scriptures are wise counsel, in this situation the Lord approached me in love rather than rebuke and was speaking to my heart with the poem above and the scriptures that He brought to me were from 1 Cor 13 making me realize that I am never justified in anything if at the center there is not love.

    1 Corinthians 13
    Love
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
