If there was one place you could go to before we are raptured, where would that place be?

Oddly enough, the travel bug that bit me when I was younger has apparently died! There's no where else that I would really want to go if I had to fly and go through all of that! Other than that, I would say that it would be to visit my family in SW La.

If a friend got a new atrocious haircut (that they love) and asked you what you thought of it, what would you tell them!

I would tell them "Glad your happy with it."

What is your favorite childhood memory?

This was a hard one! (my childhood was sooooo long ago!) And it was hard to pick a single one. So, I would say, going to my Grandma's house for like the 4th of July and having all of the family there for a meal and making homemade ice cream for dessert!

What was your favorite food as a kid? You know, the one thing that you thought that you could "live on" for years and never get tired of it!

What teacher made the biggest impact on you and why?

It was my first grade teacher (who also turned out to be my second grade teacher the next year!). The woman was wonderful. So patient and loving yet not showing favoritism in our small community. I absolutely loved her and wanted her to be my third grade teacher as well, but that was not to be. She actually ended up leaving at the end of the year for a new position at another school.

For reasons that I won't go in to, 3rd grade was traumatic for me because of personal and family issues and my grades suffered tremendously. I actually decided that year that there must be something "wrong" with me---like I was brain damaged or "slow". The following years were better, but not much! When I was in high school, I don't remember what the circumstances were, but she actually came to my house to visit with my mom and I. While she was there, she said that I had been such a good student and that I was so bright! I had NEVER had a teacher tell me that before in my life! I had never heard forthright praise of me! (Or if she had said anything about it before, I didn't remember.) She was serious!
My life actually changed at that moment! I realized that I wasn't mentally handicapped! She had seen something in me that I had never seen. So, about 8 years after she taught me, she made a huge impact on my life!

So besides teaching me how to read and opening up a whole new world for me, she taught me to believe in myself and opened up a new life for me! I am eternally grateful for her. Unfortunately, about 6 years after I saw her for the last time, she was killed in an auto accident. Although I don't know if she was saved, I pray that one day I will get to see her again. Okay, enough gushing!

:sorry I didn't mean to write a book, but the question just opened a flood of memories for me.

When we get a new heaven and a new earth, which will you be more eager to explore?

Again, this was a difficult question to chose just ONE answer to! I was working as a French-speaking tour guide to people who spoke French as a second language and Flemish as a first. For a few days, I tried to pick up words and phrases in Flemish. One day, I got extremely bold and "made up" a phrase using words that I had learned. The leader of the group thought that it was so funny, he had me repeat it to the group of 40 or so people over the microphone in the bus. It was met first with "stunned silence" before the group realized that it was a mistake and started howling! I had inadvertently found a VERY naughty word in Flemish and used it correctly in a sentence! (Actually naughty doesn't even BEGIN to cover it!) After I had said the phrase, one of the group told me what it actually meant!! I was MORTIFIED!!! Not only had a said a horrible word out loud, I had said it to a bus load of "mixed company" over a microphone!!! (My days at attempting to speak Flemish are OVER!!!!)

Do you think that animals will be able to speak plainly to us in the MK?

It would probably be my purse--the cat would probably have already found its way outside and be waiting for me!!!

Many years ago, they said that eating butter was bad for you! So they came out with margarine which was healthier. Now they are saying that margarine is bad for you and butter is healthier! How much credence do you give to the "experts" who come out and say that this food or that food (that you've eaten for years!) is bad?

My middle name is after a great-aunt. I like it, although I did go through that phase in the preteen years where most kids are embarrassed by their middle name
