At least WKU still has more wins against Louisville overall. Something like 39-30 total. Despite 100 years of basketball and given kentucky, who won't play anyone that will beat them, the series is 2-3. So we've played kraptucky five times out of 100 years--and beaten them twice. Last time at Rupp Arena in 2001 and stomped them by 13 points at their home (you can tell the love here too, right? haha).
We'll see. But the rumors are hot and heavy on firing the coach effective 1/1. Next game is at Louisiana-Monroe the 29th.
Most everyone wants Ray Harper, the asst. coach, to take over. He's won several national championships at Division 2 Kentucky Wesleyan. He ought to know something about basketball. I don't think Ken McDonald (some call him KMac) even knows how to spell it. Plus has a masters from WKU.
Our biggest mistake was not keeping Tom Crean, who is coaching at IU--when Crean was an assistant at WKU.
But the current coach, McDonald, is a protege of Tom Barnes of Clemson/Texas fame. Some of the most boring, ineffective basketball ever designed by the hand of man.
OK, now I'm getting dissertation level---I'll stop now! LOL
