    Default 2010 NAIA-College Basketball’s Toughest Tournament

The NAIA National Tournament is considered by many to be college basketball’s toughest tournament to win. The championship is a single-elimination tournament featuring a field of 32 teams. All 31 games are played on one court, Kansas City’s historic Municipal Auditorium, in seven days, March 17-23. The National Championship Game on March 23 at 7:00 p.m. CST will air live nationwide on CBS College Sports Television.

    NAIA Hoops - Welcome

We are friends with the coach of Texas Wesleyan, who won it all in 2006. My son and their youngest son are best friends and have known each other since they were 4. They go to school together and we all go to the same church in Mansfield TX.

This tourney has had many unseeded teams win the Natl Championship. My friend, Terry Waldrop and his TX Wesleyan Rams were an unseeded winner in 2006. See this: 2006 NAIA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They’re located in three totally different parts of the country, play three different styles of basketball and, for the most part, recruit different types of players.

But as the 2010 NAIA Division I men’s basketball tournament tips off Wednesday at Municipal Auditorium, three schools — Oklahoma City, Mountain State (W.Va.) and Concordia (Calif.) — have dominated the last decade like no others.

During the 2000s, Oklahoma City is 21-7 in the national tournament, including a second-place finish in 2006 and back-to-back championships in 2007-08. Mountain State is 18-9, including the 2004 championship and two second-place finishes. Concordia is 14-5 with a championship and two second-place finishes.

TX Wesleyan beat Central Methodist in a mild upset and Biola beat Belhaven to finish the 8 games from today. There are 8 more 1st round games tomorrow, Sweet Sixteen games are Friday, Elite Eight are Saturday and the Final Four is Monday. Natl Title game is Tuesday. I can see how this tourney is so difficult to win.
