    Release: 11/17/2009

    Greetings Troy Fans!

Last season, many Troy fans responded to the “Call to Arms” by our chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. and with your help, the Trojans were able to score wins over Louisiana-Lafayette and Arkansas State. Those victories allowed Troy to secure its share of a third straight Sun Belt Conference championship.

It is time for you, the fan, to once again be that 12th Man for your Trojans. This Saturday at 3:15 pm, head coach Larry Blakeney and our Trojans will face-off against rival Florida Atlantic.

With a win, Troy would clinch its FOURTH STRAIGHT Sun Belt Conference championship, an unprecedented feat in the storied 100 year history of Troy football.

We want you there EARLY, we want you wearing CARDINAL and we want you to be LOUD in your support of the Trojans!

How fitting that during this season-long celebration of the winning tradition of Troy football, our Trojans have the opportunity to clinch a conference championship on their home field. Come out and help cheer them on to that victory!

Also, Saturday’s game will be the last home game for a very special group of seniors. I hope you will be at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium on Saturday afternoon to share their final home game with them and hopefully make it all the more special by winning a conference title.

    With Trojan Pride,

    Steve Dennis
    Director of Athletics
    Troy University

    Huh?

I hope this game is on TV too. It should be a good one. Howard Schnellingburger always cracks me up! I'm wondering if Mental Tennessee State goes to a bowl this year?

CARDINAL is the color "red" they wear. I'm not sure about MTSU, are they 2nd in the conference?

Oh, color. Knowing they're the Trojans--Cardinal threw me off. I immediately thought of the University of Loserville Cardinals and the Standford Cardinal...

Looks like they got the win and at least a share of the SBC championship. They beat ULM so they would win the tiebreaker there on the head to head game.

They've already got "4 in a Row" shirts for sale.

    I like that design!

Are you sure about Troy sharing the SBC title? I thought they were 8-0.

When is the NO Bowl? Any idea if MTSU is going anywhere? ULM and ULL are technically bowl eligible at 6-6. But I doubt if they're going anywhere. I think MTSU is 9-3.

    Hey,
That post was made after the FAU home game. At that point on the 22nd they were 7-0 in the conference. With the win the next weekend against ULL they won the conference outright with the 8-0 record.

I found a second "championship" shirt design at the bookstore. Looks pretty good, too.
