    Default fire in the sky

Sat. Nov 12, 9:40 PM Pac time. My daughter and I were sitting around a campfire in my back yard and saw a large orange fireball traveling west to east very fast--too fast to be a plane (three seconds from overhead to the horizon)--no noise, when directly overhead about the size of a small hot air balloon. I'm guessing a large meteor but no visible tail. Anyone else see or hear of this? I live in Las Vegas NV.

Wow, that must've been a rather large meteor. Usually a full moon like we have now above makes meteors all but impossible to see.

Where was the moon relative to the overhead meteor you saw?

Might have been an early Leonid arrival... they're due in a day or so from now.

"There shall be signs..." That must've been a very cool sight, a full moon with a bright meteor zipping along.
