This just makes me want to move to the country and build a bunker. Now we'll be just like London--can't blow our nose without Big Sis knowing about it. Next there will be sensors in our toilet seats to report on our eating habits--ticket dispensers in the stalls in case we had too many trans-fats. It's like Brazil in real life! Just leave me the heck alone!

There may come a day when the Antichrist will use some such technology, but it is not a problem we need to concern ourselves with.

Froggy, this article is an example of Fear, Uncertainty and Doom (or FUD, for short). What this type of thing does is to panic people by playing "fast and loose" with facts, while sensationalizing events. The end result causes folks to worry their heads off, while boosting the media attention of the person doing it (in this case, Alex Jones, who is seeking to make sales of his myriad books, cd's and dvd's).

BTW: Alex Jones is on RF's list of sources that shouldn't be posted, due to his sensationalism and sheer unreliability. What I usually do when I find a story is to Google the headline and see who else is reporting it, then trace the headline via the dates the story was first broken on Google. Using that, you can trace the story back to the source and determine its' authenticity.

This is why I get concerned when we trust other media sources; if we're not trusting the MSM, then what makes us think secondary news sources are going to be much better? This is where discernment comes in, and we need to pay close attention: I've seen some christian sites that just run off with a story just because they "trust" the source, only to find out later that it was a load of garbage. I've been burned a few times in the past doing that same thing (and have the t-shirt to prove it!! )

Hang in there Froggy; while my streetlamp isn't spying on me, I think it might be taking a midnight stroll or two when I sleep!

All problems solved. The street lights can't see me any more, Alex Jones is in emergency with a big lump on his nut, and that pesky tomcat with the big voice and bad timing has decided to relocate to a safer territory. The local glaziers, roof-tilers and panelbeaters are pleased with the upturn in business, and if you're from the authorities I know nothing, didn't see anything, don't know what you're talking about, doesn't concern me, wasn't there, not interested. That welt on my arm is from when one of my gaiters snapped as I was getting dressed this morning.

I caught this article linked on Drudge...I'm surprised.

They've already got naked body scanners in trucks driving around...I guess I shouldn't be shocked when a lamp post starts talking to me. Problem is, I wouldn't be sure if it were real or my blood sugar.
