Earthquake shakes central Oklahoma

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – A minor earthquake shook parts of central Oklahoma Wednesday night, rattling nerves but causing no damage or injuries.
The quake was centered in the Midwest City area east of Oklahoma City and registered 2.5 on the Richter scale, said Dr. Charles Mankin, director of the Oklahoma Geological Survey.
http://www.okgeosurvey1.gov/okc.htmlOklahoma County has only had six earthquakes centered in the county. One of these was felt widely in Midwest City and Del City on 1974 DEC16. Twenty seven years (and six hours) later, a magnitude 2.2 earthquake was felt in scattered locations in Oklahoma City and Edmond and surrounding area.
I realize these are small, but I think it is interesting that there were two that happened on December 16th (27 years apart) and now one on December 20th (5 years later) in an area where we don't see that many 'quakes.
