The signs or birth pangs in Matthew 24 are happening today. Pick up a newspaper or listen to the news today. Wars and rumors of wars and pestilences and many more signs. Plus, Israel became a nation in 1948. A generation is seventy to eighty years. That means the rapture will be really soon!

Ya, I do believe you are right. There's these false prophets all over the place (Koresh, Jones, et al) cited here in Matthew 24:

Matthew 24:5 "For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and will mislead many."
Matthew 24:11 "And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many."

War and threats of wars happening:

Matthew 24:6 "And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end."

Famines and earthquakes abound:

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

Worldwide persecution of Christians, which will get worse:

Matthew 24:8-9 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of my name."

The internet, new media, fufilling this:

Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a Witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come."

And that's just from Matthew 24.

As most of the "critics" would say, these things have been happening throughout time, but what they fail to mention (or realize) is that now they are happening one ON TOP of ANOTHER!!!! We're going home soon!!!
