    Default Browsers ..

Now sure where to post my question. I have been having problems in being able to reply quite a bit lately.........I make a post and hit post and then it just spins and spins and spins. I often have to close out the site and then come back in and try again. This seems to only be happening here. Is anyone else having similar issues?

I am using Google Chrome as my browser these days.

Kathy, I have been noticing that RF pages load a bit slower than usual, but my posts still go through.

I don't use the Google browser (I use FF) but it sounds like you may have a slight "cookie" problem.
Check your toolbar for options where you can permanently allow RF cookies and that should fix the glitch.

Thank you, Forgiven for replying. I went and cleaned the cache and cookies etc so perhaps this will make a difference. Earlier, I noticed I could not select an emoticon to put with a post. Hopefully with emptying out the cache, I will see an improvement.

    Again thank you.

I was having trouble with posting using Firefox. My son suggested Pale Moon. It is an offshoot of Firefox and is more stable. My troubles went away.

Pale Moon - Carl, I am going to check this out.

I don't know much about computers/browsers and always thought FireFox was among one of the better browsers...... On my desktop, FF is giving me way too much grief so never use it anymore.

Yes, I, too, am going to check out Pale Moon. Both Vicki and I have had to give up FF due to all the problems with it since FF 8.0 and above. And both of us have moved to Chrome. Pale Moon sounds wonderful, based on the reviews Ihave read online. I'm going to d/l it and give it a try.

    Thanks, Carl!

You are most certainly welcome, but thank my son.

After I posted about my trouble and you suggested a couple of browsers I tried about 5 earlier versions of FireFox. Each of them had problems. So the site's updates have contributed to some of the problems.

I looked at the site for the pale moon download and tried to figure it out, lol ......When I did try to do the download, my computer just kept freezing up saying (not responding) .........I gave up after a few attempts, lol. I deleted Google Chrome and then tried firefox again. This time, I was able to do the upgrade and can now use FF. I think I will leave well enough alone for now.

If FF10 is working for you, then leave well enough alone. For others, who may want to try Pale Moon, the best link to d/l it is Download starting... - Softpedia The second you click on that link the d/l will start. The d/l site is softpedia which is reputable and the server is in the US. This is the link for the 32-bit version. If you want the 64 bit version or want to choose another d/l server, or simply read more about the browser, go to Pale Moon Download - Softpedia. At this last link the download will NOT start until you choose a server to d/l it from.

I downloaded it yesterday and have been using it. It is a good browser and very similar to FF (upon which it is based). But by all accounts it is faster than FF and more accepting of your old browser add-ons which later versions of FF seem to be unable to use.

Thanks for this thread and thank you Matt for the link to download Pale Moon. I have been using Chrome for a few years , but also used Firefox. But with Firefox version 11 , it became too buggy for me .

I like Pale Moon. It works great and is faster that Firefox.
