What happens here after the rapture? Has anybody thought about how long this site could stay operational with zero input from the administrative team?
If this site is hosted through a public web hosting service, it would probably stay up until the tribulation causes irreversable damage or power failure at the main server. Or until the host shuts down the site because the hosting fee didn't get paid. (Perhaps the fees should be paid up to 7 years in advance?)
But one concern I would have is the total lack of moderation. I don't recall from when I signed up, but is there any administrative action required when a new member signs up, or is it all automatic? The reason I ask is once the mods disappear, I can see this site quickly becoming a hotspot of bad information once a bunch of "left behinders" start posting here with wild speculation, with no mods here to keep the facts straight. I wonder, would it be possible to put a "freeze" on this site? Kinda like a "Raptured man switch" (as opposed to a dead man switch) where if a mod doesn't enter a code and push a button every 108 minutes (maybe every 24/48hrs would be better), the whole site gets locked down so that people can view the site, but not post?
Or perhaps it would be better to give those left behind a place where the topic of discussion would be what happened, even though it would probably get pretty ugly pretty quick...
The only solution I can think of is leaving the admin passwords and instructions in some sort of legal document to be passed on to somebody in case of rapture. A will wouldn't work, because I'm pretty sure you have to be missing for several years to be declared "dead". But knowing who to trust with that sort of information would be tricky. And "give these to a computer nerd who confesses Christ after the rapture" would probably be too ambiguous.
