    Default Uplifting News Story Section

As Christians, I think we can all agree that seeing the way the world is unfolding is both uplifting, and depressing. It is uplifting to us, because Jesus has said "When you see all these things beginning to pass, lift your head and rejoice, for your redemption draws near." At the same time though, watching the world turn into a cest-pool of evil is soul crushing in some respects.

I would be interested in seeing a new section added to the "Breaking news and World Events" category, simply devoted to stories that are uplifting; that show the world is not quite to the zenith of sin. In that way, we could keep the actual breaking news section devoted to what we have it as now, which is anything remotely applicable to seeing the return of our Lord. The new section I'm proposing would just be pleasant things that show that not the entire world has abandoned good.

If we've already got that, I just haven't seen it yet, so go ahead and feel free to delete this post and pm me and let me know which section we have specified for that.
    Thanks,

7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

    Amen Brother.

    We have the Bad News.
    We have the Good News.

But your right we also need the good news too.

Amen, brother! I would love to see a section with uplifting news. The problem is, where do we find the articles to post? They are few and far between. Each day, I read the news and become more and more convinced that the world IS reaching the "zenith of sin". When we DO find uplifting stories, we post them in the breaking news section. (Some people post their own personal uplifting stories in Prayer Request & Praise Reports.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a section devoted to "uplifting news". I don't know how much that we could find to put in there, but I will try to find articles I can for the section (or in the meantime, post them in the "Breaking News Section". Two thoughts: one, maybe members would be more likely to find uplifting news in their local newspapers online because they are more likely to publish "human interest stories" than the MSM is. And, two, I'm afraid that the uplifting stories would of necessity come from a bigger story of tragedy and/or evil---i.e. survivors of an earthquake or other natural disaster, etc.

Like I said, I will try to find more uplifting articles, but in the times in which we find ourselves, I think that they will be few and far between. 2:

True. I know www.klove.com has a news section, and they are pretty much only positive and encouraging. Unless something huge happens. But I agree that by and by it will be difficult to find new uplifting stories. 2:

I agree. It would be nice to have a specific section for this.

I think it's a great idea, also. Through the years, I've seen some very heart-warming stories from the missions field. However, like ReadtoGo mentioned, some result from tragic situations. One that was uplifting to me was in, I believe, Joel Rosenberg's Book "Epicenter" (I could be wrong about which book I read it), but he described where people in the most remote places were coming TO the missionaries, asking them about Jesus - i.e., they had had visions & dreams, as described in the Book of Joel. Rosenberg said that these were confirmed events. I loved it - our God is reaching out to all, just as He said that He would. Just wanted to relate that - it may be not be the type story you're looking for, but anything uplifting is to be treasured in this the latter days.

I agree too! Good idea brother!
    Jeremiah 31:12

12Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
