Default Will Israel attack Hizballah's Scuds?Turkey ditches Syrian rebels Joins Russia ,Iran alliance

Two radical developments arising from the Syrian conflict are revealed by debkafile: In an astonishing about face, Turkey has just turned away from its 14-month support for the anti-Assad revolt alongside the West and made common cause with Russia, i.e. Bashar Assad. Further exacerbating fears of a “proxy war” involving Israel, Iran and Syria, the Lebanese Hizballah is getting ready to bring its Scud D missiles, which can reach any point in Israel, and other advanced weapons, including anti-air missiles, out of secret storage in Syria and transfer them across the border to Lebanon. Two years ago, Israel issued an ultimatum through Washington that the Scuds would be destroyed if they were moved over to Hizballah’s launching pads in Lebanon.

The Lebanese Shiite group has since kept its most advanced hardware stashed at the Syrian Al Hame and Al Zabadani military bases near Damascus.

Now that Syrian rebel attacks are closing in on Syrian military targets, Tehran and Hizballah leaders are working on plans to get them across into Lebanon without exposing them to Israeli attack.

For the time being, the pro-Assad Moscow-Tehran front, bolstered now by Ankara, has got the better of Western and Arab policies for Syria. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Bashar Assad and Hassan Nasrallah have drawn encouragement for advancing to their next step: to confront the United States and Israel with another accomplished fact, the deployment of Scuds aimed at Israel from Lebanon.

Turkey ditches Syrian rebels. Will Israel attack Hizballah's Scuds?

Is Turkey lining up for its own Arab Spring?

How long will the Sunni majority in Turkey allow their leaders to back a Shiite(like) Assad pounding on their Sunni Syrian brothers?

Having said that... Eze 38-39 alliances will take presidence.

Wow ... Did not see that one coming at all. Maybe should have....
    Ya, It'll leave a mark.

The transfer of any Syrian Scud-D missiles to Hezbollah in Lebanon would be met with an immediate IAF strike. That's a bottom line assessment.

What is currently known is that these weapons are currently located within a Hezbollah/Iranian depot on the outskirts of Damascus. Should an attempt be made to launch them from from Damascus, well, we know what the response from Israel will be.

Scud-Ds are liquid fueled missiles. The fuel is highly volatile and the fueling process would be readily detected by the Israeli intelligence apparatus.

The potential loss of these weapons is extremely worrisome to Hezbollah and Iran, which has the effect of placing even more external pressure on the Al-Assad regime. Exepct Syrian rebel groups to exacerbate the situation for the Al-Assad regime and attack these targets directly.

Also, to date I have seen no hard evidence that Turkey has abandoned the Sunni Syrian rebel forces of any faction. To the oppostite effect Western efforts through both the UN and NATO on Turkish soil in very recent days have been aimed towards the creation of a unified military command under which all Syrian rebel factions would coordinate their activities throughout Syrian territory. This effort remains in-progress.

As just forecast in the previous post of five days ago (Exepct Syrian rebel groups to exacerbate the situation for the Al-Assad regime and attack these targets directly) ... Anti-Assad forces are now attacking the core of the Al-Assad regime in Damascus. They are attacking the power stations which are critical in Al-Assads remaining loyal forces ability to defend the regime's capital city and its bastions of military power - including weapons of mass destruction.

Heavy fighting is reported on the streets of Damascus.

United Nations supervisors say opposition forces are attacking Syrian government troops as well as the electricity stations supplying power to the Syrian Army bases. They have also bombed six buses carrying the soldiers loyal to the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

The battles are said to be the fiercest since the beginning of the revolution sparked by the Arab Spring uprising that began in March 2011.

The situation in Syria is rapidly escalating into an uncontrollable nightmare scenario due to the lack of effective international intervention (as occurred in Libya) to prevent the unthinkable from happening. Now we can reasonably expect a full-scale exchange of WMD, possibly including the Al-Assad regime with Hezbollah striking directly against Israel. Iranian plans for the region depends upon the survival and success of the Al-Assad regime against it enemies.

I appreciate all the comments on this thread. I believe that Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17 will occur before Ezekiel 38 & 39, so Sean's scenario is the one most likely to happen first. Turkey has already changed sides in part. I think that the change will be complete when Israel has to defend itself with WMD's.
