We were talking about this in my small group last night. Some of us grew up in churches that basically taught, "Do what we teach you". Not "check your Bible and make sure we're right".

This seems to be a lot more prevalent than just the cults teaching like this.

Ok, so I read the article and the first thing that came to mind was what catastrophe will happen to this (ahem) man's followers on that date? How many people have died, or committed suicide because their leader set a date? These people believe a transformation will occur, what if this man tells them that to be transfored, they have to die first? We need to pray for these people, to have their eyes opened before this supposed end-date.
