    Surprised?

    I'd be absolutely shocked!
    Ephesians 5:18 (New King James Version)

    18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

    I Come To The Garden Alone Hymn

    And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
    And He tells me I am His own;
    And the joy we share as we tarry there,
    None other has ever known.

It's a question for all to pursue. I've been reading the OT and mainly the time when Assyria plundered G-d's people. Now I've been reading where Tel-Aviv is the homosexual resort that all want to flock to these days. That sounds like a Sodom/Gommorah type of scenario to me not to mention the secularism of the people. Is there anything in the Word that might show a time like this later down the pike?
    Well God says that when he plants the Jews back into the land of Israel that he will never again pluck them out of their land. If there were a nuclear exchange with Iran they'd be displaced again.

    Amos 9:11-15

    “In that day
    “I will restore David’s fallen shelter—
    I will repair its broken walls
    and restore its ruins—
    and will rebuild it as it used to be,
    12 so that they may possess the remnant of Edom
    and all the nations that bear my name,[a]”
    declares the LORD, who will do these things.

    13 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD,

    “when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman
    and the planter by the one treading grapes.
    New wine will drip from the mountains
    and flow from all the hills,
    14 and I will bring my people Israel back from exile.[b]

    “They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
    They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;
    they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
    15 I will plant Israel in their own land,
    never again to be uprooted
    from the land I have given them,”
    says the LORD your God.

    Correction to what I said about Boykin. He is not a Knight of Columbus, he is a Knight of Malta. He talks like a dominionist. Bad news all round.

    Actually, Joel speaks of this very thing of allowing armies to come up against Israel KissimmeeBeliever. Last night I was reading in Joel and it's interesting because it talks about how God Himself is leading an army from the North straight towards Israel, an army so terrible that the nations are in anguish, Joel 2:6. Then there seems to be a pause where God appeals to Israel to turn their hearts again to Him.

    17 Let the priests, who minister before the LORD,
    weep between the portico and the altar.
    Let them say, “Spare your people, LORD.
    It's like God uses a rebellious, evil army of people, brings them to the very borders of Israel and in a very real, tangible way shows and says to them....'choose life or death' urging them, in light of the great impending evil army at their very borders ready to slaughter Israel, to choose to..... (v.s 13&14)

    ........Return to the LORD your God,
    for he is gracious and compassionate,
    slow to anger and abounding in love,
    and he relents from sending calamity.
    Who knows? He may turn and relent
    and leave behind a blessing—
    It seems that Israel finally listens and chooses God to return for later Joel says,

    18 Then the LORD was jealous for his land
    and took pity on his people.
    19 The LORD replied to them:

    “I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil,
    enough to satisfy you fully;
    never again will I make you
    an object of scorn to the nations.

    20 “I will drive the northern horde far from you,
    pushing it into a parched and barren land;
    its eastern ranks will drown in the Dead Sea
    and its western ranks in the Mediterranean Sea.
    And its stench will go up;
    its smell will rise.”
    Further into the chapter God describes more blessing for Israel for returning to God.

    The reason I do not think that Tel Aviv will be destroyed(or any other Israeli city) is that a nuclear strike would end Israel as a country and the bible does not mention this in prophecy.

    The use of nukes is a whole lot more subtle and varied than city-killing nukes such as Fat Man and Little Boy. It is a whole lot more useful than megaton fallout-dispensers that poison a landscape for millenia. Sean would likely be able to elaborate on the the sobering reality that nukes are not so outlandish that they are too powerful to be used in a regional war. I believe from Scripture there is a case to be made for the use of nukes pre-rapture, pre-Trib. If not before, then certainly after.

    Isa 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
    Isa 17:2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
    Isa 17:3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
    Isa 17:4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.
    Isa 17:5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.
    Isa 17:6 Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.
    Isa 17:7 At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
    Isa 17:8 And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
    Isa 17:9 In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation.
    Isa 17:10 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips:
    Isa 17:11 In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
    Isa 17:12 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
    Isa 17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
    Isa 17:14 And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

    Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
    Zec 14:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
    Zec 14:14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.
    Zec 14:15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ***, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.

    Micah719, I hadn't considered this... I remember that Israel is rumored to possess neutron weapons that spare physical infrastructure to an extent. But if Iran used a weapon of it's own making or one bought from Pakistan then that weapon would be dirtier and more crude. But also probably with a lower yield. But I still cannot see Israel surviving the loss of a city like Tel Aviv or Haifa.

    Here's a gruesome TEWT (Tactical Exercise Without Troops): a nuke simulator.

    Ground Zero II, Google Maps and Nuclear Weapons

    Here's some info on neutron bombs:

    Neutron bomb - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    And some more generalised info on the infernal devices:

    Section 1.0 Types of Nuclear Weapons

    Also, Syria has lots of blister, nerve and blood agents....mustard, vx and cyanide. Aren't we humans a lovely bunch.
