Even as Israel becomes increasingly liberal (see recent report on Tel Aviv being rated top gay travel destination), it is also becoming increasingly religious, or, perhaps more accurately, increasingly God-fearing.

A survey conducted by the Guttman-Avi Chai Foundation in 2009, and whose results were finally published on Thursday after more than two years of analysis, revealed that over 80 percent of Israeli Jews believe in God. The Guttman-Avi Chai Foundation started conducing this survey over two decades ago. The 2009 poll registered by far the highest level of belief in God yet.

Furthermore, over 70 percent of Israeli Jews accept the biblical principle that the Jewish people have been "chosen" by God for a specific prophetic destiny. Seventy-one percent of respondents said they want increased biblical studies in Israeli schools.

But that doesn't mean Jews in general are becoming more religious, at least not in an Orthodox Jewish way. Only 37 percent of Israeli Jews had a problem with fellow Jews not following the biblical commandments, and nearly 70 percent said they want more entertainment venues to be open on the Shabbat.

The numbers coincide with other recent findings and observations suggesting that Israelis are increasingly hungry for a deeper spiritual life. It also highlights the growing rift in the nation, as one portion of Israelis moves closer to God and the Bible, while the other clings ever more tightly to Western liberal humanism.

I didn't mean to report this from another site today since we already have a thread on it. However, it sure does seem a lot of people are noticing that the Jews seem to be turning more back to God. Speaking of that, August Rosado sent out a newsletter a few minutes ago and this is what he said:

A survey released shows that 80 % of Jews in Israel believe in God. This same survey shows that 70% of Israeli Jews believe the Jews are the chosen people of God. Another 65% believe God gave the Torah to the Jewish people, and 56% of Jews believe in life after death.

Today 46% of Jews would describe themselves as secular Jews with no belief system at all. There has been a recent clash among secular and Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem, with secular Jews charging the Orthodox have no business forcing religious beliefs on them, and the Orthodox charging secular Jews are destroying the religious fabric of the State of Israel.

Among Jews 55% believe in the coming of the Messiah. Another 37% say a Jew who does not observe religious precepts is endangering the State of Israel. There is a movement in Israel called "The State of Judea" in which they are pushing for a second Jewish State.

They feel because Israel is becoming so secular among Government and it's citizens, it's time to have a religious Jewish State with Halichic laws and values.

This story of Jews in Israel becoming more and more God conscience is a page right out of Bible prophecy.

Revelation chapter 7 describes God raising up 144,000 male Jewish Israelites, 12,000 each from the twelve tribes of Israel. These Jews will come to faith in Jesus as Saviour and Messiah, and will have a global campaign of preaching the gospel.

Many people will come to faith in Jesus due to the preaching of these saved Jews during the tribulation period.

Could this current God awareness, even among the secular Jews in Israel, be setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled? It could very well be. With that said we know that Jesus the Jewish Messiah could come at any moment at the Rapture of the Church. We need to be ready, looking, and busy winning the unsaved in these last days.

I sure hope this is true. While they are at it they need to go back and read the many verses on sexual immorality and homosexuality so they don't end up like Soddam or Gomorrah. I've been watching videos on Tel Aviv and the thousands that flock there from all over for these reasons. It really blows my mind that they allow and acccording to the videos promote this type of behavior to continue in G-d's land. Sickening just sickening.

Chris, I really think this is a sign for those who are watching and know that Israel will be wanting to rebuild their Temple at some time in the near future. We are looking for the rapture and even more so when we see this type of information coming to light. We can see the puzzle pieces coming together and know that our time is short. May God's peace be upon Israel cause we know it is not going to get better for them anytime soon as it seems to me war drums are beating in the ME.
