Guarantee Being Raptured?

Thanks. I think that it is important to make people aware that the english word 'believe' has limitations. Satan 'believes' that Jesus is Lord and knows He rose again, as do many people as a matter of intellectual fact or knowledge. The greek word 'pisteuo' means to 'cling to, adhere to, cleave to, rely upon, trust in'. Thus our english rendering is quite poor by comparison and could lead people to think they are saved when in reality they are not. Anybody can say they 'believe' and then say it out loud.

Romans 10:9 AMP

Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe/PISTEUO (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

You are absolutely correct. Which is the reason why we need to draw our doctrines from more than one verse. One verse is light from one angle. It may be straight on, or it might be oblique. But the more scriptural "lights" we can shine on a subject, the more angles the illumination hits from and thus the more accurate our picture.

I think there is a reason for this post, we are living in a world where Satan wants to destroy Christians. Now Satan knows he can not do this so he wants to do the next best thing which could be your assurance of salvation, your Christian witness. Whether you are a young Christian or and old Christian we can be attacked. Sometimes the attacks come from friends or people you may know who claim to be Christians (they do not know they are being used by Satan). It's not the kind of attack that you might recognize at first. It could be about baptism or tithing or helping the poor, well you know what I mean. The point is these types of attacks meant to cause you doubt will not work if you study Gods word and hide it in your heart. I love this thread because of all the scripture quoted makes my heart feel good and my spirit rise. The goodness of God leads us to repentance and faithful is He who called you who will also keep you. You are sealed and nothing can be added to what Jesus has done for us. I have a friend who always looks to inject his denominational beliefs on certain topics! I tell him he does not want to be under the law as he wants to add to what Jesus has done, he says he does not but when he says you have to believe but you have to do this and that according to his denomination, then you are adding. I know everyone here understands what I am trying to say but one of my favorite hymns says. "nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling"

Thanks so much, I love the old Gospel songs, I want to hear about the Cross and the Blood. If a person wants assurance of salvation, just listen to this Hymn Rock of Ages, if you don't feel something, then your feeler is broken. I love to tell the story cause those who know it best seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest

I sure know the Holy Spirit dwells on this post. It is the best post on here. So good to hear all of you confess the holy spirit with your gracious help through our Lord Jesus Christ.
