The Rapture Report - U.S. Presidential Candidate Says Obama's Policies 'Suicidal' for Israel

In today's news we came across an article where U.S. Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich says that President Obama's current and proposed policies are suicidal for Israel. As we've all know all along Obama has had a very turbulent relationship with Israel since assuming the U.S. President's office and that he is truly not a real friend of Israel in this writer's opinion. In fact, there are reports that Obama has given Israeli PM Netanyahu a one month ultimatum to accept his proposals for resuming Middle East "peace" negotiations starting from the 1967 lines and eastern Jerusalem as a capital for a future Palestinian state. This is not a good situation for Israel and as we all know PM Netanyahu has already rebuffed Obama and said "No!!" One thing is for sure and that is that the situation on the ground is heading for a climax as both the Israelis and Palestinians stand as far apart as they have ever stood. The Israel National News website reports:

Newt Gingrich told Republican party Jews Sunday night that if he becomes the next U.S. president, he will cut off funds to the United Nations if it recognizes the Palestinian Authority and will move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. U.S. President Barack Obama was the first presidential candidate in more than two decades who did not promise in his campaign to relocate the embassy. Two weeks ago, he again exercised a presidential waiver, citing ”national security” to exempt him from fulfilling the Congressional law requiring the move.

Gingrich, a former history professor, told the Republican Jewish Coalition in California, “An Israeli peace with Hamas is impossible. Twenty years of hopes for the peace process cannot change this fundamental reality.” He added that accepting President Obama’s position regarding the Palestinian Authority and Israel would be "suicidal" for Israel.
As we can see from this quote over the past two decades U.S. presidential candidates have always spoken of moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but there has always been an "excuse" to keep the move from happening. This excuse has always been for fear of what the Islamists might do should the U.S. recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem would be a key victory for Israel in the court of public opinion and would encourage others to follow the American lead by moving their embassies to Jerusalem. But as we see in the quote U.S. President Obama never made that promise because the truth is he never planned to move the embassy because he is not on Israel's side of the conflict.

Even recently Congress has spoken out in one united voice to criticize Obama for his policies on Israel and to encourage him to protect and stand by Israel in the increasing chaotic Middle East. The fact is the Middle East is undergoing a tremendous change never before seen on the ground. Dictators are being overthrown and long standing regimes are being challenged by the people. However, despite these positive events, they are over shadowed by the prospects of terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, and the Muslim Brotherhood from taking over.

The INN article also went on to report:

Although the economy may be the main issue in the 2012 presidential race, Gingrich chose Sunday night to hammer against President Obama’s international views, accusing him of pursuing "dangerous policies of incoherence and confusion." Gingrich said, “Both Israel and America are at a dangerous crossroads at which the survival of Israel and the safety of the United States both hang in the balance."
Despite the uncertainty on the ground in the Middle East, there do seem to be at the moment some positive things happening on the ground. One of these things is that Obama has threatened the PA with withholding aid money and other things if they go ahead with declaring a unilateral state in September. As many of you know the PA is threatening that if peace talks don't resume that in September when the UN reconvenes the PA will ask the UN to recognize a Palestinian state along 1967 lines and with east Jerusalem as their capital. This situation is totally unacceptable and does not provide Israel with "defensible borders" in which their security can be guaranteed. But despite this the international community seems to be willing to look the other way and it appears that the majority of countries in the world support the creation of a Palestinian state. However, the U.S. has promised to veto any resolution proposing a unilateral Palestinian state and so for the time being the Palestinians have started to somewhat back down from their threats of declaring a unilateral state in September.

However, as with the Middle East in general it is hard to predict with accuracy what is going to happen from day to day. So for the time being, we can only wait and see what transpires. Another positive development is that Israeli PM Netanyahu has been on the plane visiting different countries and seeking support against a Palestinian state. Recent reports are that he has received some assurances from various countries that they will not support a Palestinian state should it come to vote in the UN. Again, we will have to wait and see what really happens come September.

But for students of Bible prophecy we can see that things are definitely heading towards a climax in the region as political pressure on dictators and regimes could cause a lashing out at Israel should things get desperate enough. Just today there were reports that King Abdullah of Jordan has his motorcade attacked while he was visiting a city. This is very unusual and shows that figures like Abdullah, Assad, and others are walking a tight rope at the moment. Let us continue to watch the region and watch the events on the ground as the prophetic puzzle pieces continue to move into place for end times events. And as always, continue to keep looking up, for your redemption is drawing nigh!! Stay tuned!

    God bless.

I thought Obama supported a Palestinian State? Before it can go to the General Assembly, it must first pass the Security Council. One vote against would prevent it from entering the General Assembly for a vote.

Based upon what I'm seeing, I would predict Obama's Ambassador to the UN will vote for the measure being sent to the floor . . .where it will receive a vote from 3/4 of the GA.

The vote is September 15. I would bet war will follow shortly after that.

Obama is not incompetent, though he and his kind like people to think so. It's disarming to think that your enemy is an idiot when he's not.

Think about it....if the PA goes ahead alone, they'll get their heads handed to them and nobody else will be able to be held accountable. If the UN however creates a PA abomination, they own it and have to defend it. I bet Bibi is secretly hoping the PA do something ultra-dumb like running on ahead of the pack.
