Congress further opposes Obama Mideast peace plan
    By Ryan Jones

Prominent US Senators on Thursday threw another wrench in the Middle East peace plans of President Barack Obama when they proposed a new resolution opposing an Israeli withdrawal to its pre-1967 borders.

The draft resolution presented by senators Orrin Hatch and Joe Lieberman states that "it is contrary to United States policy and national security to have the borders of Israel return to the armistice lines that existed on June 4, 1967."

Echoing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the senators insisted that the 1967 borders were indefensible, and invited Arab attacks on the narrow Jewish state.

The resolution is supported by at least 30 other senators, and possibly many more.

The resolution comes just weeks after a joint session of Congress made the extraordinary move of providing a foreign leader - Netanyahu - with a platform to oppose the policies of the US president. Congress was unhappy that just days prior to Netanyahu's address Obama had publically called for Israel to return to its pre-1967 borders for the sake of peace.

Analysts noted that Obama's statements had for the first time turned Arab demands that peace be based on a full and complete Israeli withdrawal the official policy of the White House.

I'm glad some of our leaders are showing some sense, I also want to see more leaders turning to prayer as Rick Perry recently called for

Interesting. If this resolution passes, keep us updated. While I generally disagree that the weather is judgment, if this does pass and the hurricane season turns out to be a real dud, I may consider reconsidering. Of course, even if it does pass and we have a huge hurricane season, the argument would be made that Obama's veto is to blame... (unless it passes the house & senate with a 2/3 majority)

I, of course, agree. Nothing is stronger than prayer, and our leaders need to use it to govern.

Ya, but who is Obama listening to besides himself these days? This administration is really, really anti-Israel. Obama and Hillary are deceived, very deceived. I am pretty suprised they are doing this. Obama seems more and more prideful and pride goes before a fall like the Bible says. I got to admit, even I was kind of impressed with some of Obama's speeches during his campaign. But it was all deception, just like a lot of politicians. But his pride I see is pretty concerning I think. This administration thinks that they are invincible because they are the leaders of America, what they don't know is that there's a Higher Leader-Jesus Christ! And they will have to answer to Him for their actions, just as all of us have to do.
