Default Does anyone else have this feeling too?

Hi! I am new here so forgive me if I am posting under the wrong heading. Firstly, I do believe we are in the End Times. I do not believe in date setting as we do not know the day or hour, just the season. However; the past few days I just feel the Rapture is about to happen very, very , very soon. More so than I ever felt before. Does anyone else have this sense/ feeling. I have never had the intense feeling before, and was wondering if I am the only one or, is it others?
Any feedback thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you and God Bless

First off, welcome to the Forum!!

Second, I also believe the Rapture will be soon - I can easily imagine the Church being taken within a couple of years (and possibly much, much sooner - imminency requires this). Indeed, IMO, I believe there is solid scriptural and mathematical reasons to believe the commencement of Daniel's 70th week to be right around the corner, thereby "forcing" the Rapture to not be too far away (after all, the Church / Bride must be removed before the "horror" commences).

Perhaps the Mandatory Christian Evacuation Notice (more commonly known as the "Rapture") is beiing prepared for announcement as we speak!!

Sis, and I do not in any way mean this as a rebuke, but I have learned never to trust my feelings. Based on Scripture, I believe we are definitely in the last days and that the Rapture could occur at any moment. And whenever it shall please the Father to tell His Son to go get His children, it shall be the perfect time. For me, to focus on the likely nearness of the Rapture is to run two risks: the first is to be disappointed and discouraged if it does not come within the time-frame in which I expect it; the second is it distracts me from the instruction He left for us at His departure— namely to be faithful to Him and to be continually laboring in His fields until such time as He comes again. the terminology of "watching" and "waiting" in the original Greek of the gospels does not refer to sitting and looking up for His coming, but rather to expect that coming and to be faithfully working in the way he commanded until He does come.

As I said, my sister, I am not criticizing your question or you. it is just that we are all so looking forward to being home with Him in glory that it is very easy to let our focus slip from what is more important at the moment.

Matt - good reply. Question: What if "feeling" that the Rapture will be soon creates an urgency to witness to the lost that may have not been there before - could this not be used by God to further His Kingdom? Allow me to answer my question. Of course He can, but I agree that this type of thing must be kept in a healthy balance for all of the great reasons that you pointed out. The old saying "All things in moderation" (other than worshipping Jesus) comes to mind.

The Rapture sometimes reminds me of an analogy:

    - Your father tells you that you are going to go on a trip to Disney World
    - You have never been, but he tells you that it is going to be better than any trip you have ever taken
    - The catch is, he won't tell you when you will be leaving on the trip
    - Furthermore, he tells you that you need to keep working, studying and carrying on until he tells you its time to leave

Try as I may, I can't help but get overly excited sometimes. Yes, I eventually calm down and get back into my routine, but it is only human nature to get these "feelings" that its almost here. Nonetheless, I agree that we have to keep going, even though it can be a challenge sometimes (but hopefully we can all make it a pleasant one).

    Hi friends,

Not sure about the time frame of when the rapture will occur, I tend not to dwell on it as it is beyond our control, the almighty decides the time and place.

However, I have noticed the world changing rapidly. The feeling that things are changing and will never be the same, that some large event is about to take place....I just get the feeling that things are spinning out of control, and that the world is soon to be stunned.

Thank you all for your replies:
Matt I do not take offense. I appreciate your feedback, and do understand what you are saying.
I am normally, not one to focus so much on this, that is why I find it odd that I feel this way.
Having said that I will not be dissappointed if it takes longer than I hope. As a fellow poster mentioned

"The feeling that things are changing and will never be the same, that some large event is about to take place....I just get the feeling that things are spinning out of control, and that the world is soon to be stunned"

This is the exact feeling I have had that just came over me in the past few weeks. I was just wondering if anyone else was feeling that way too. It was a curiosity question.

The Lord will choose his time, and I will trust in him ,,,not my own "feelings "

    Peace

May God bless you richly Laura. While you are waiting, here are the lyrics from John Waller's song titled "While I'm Waiting" (it was on the Fireproof soundtrack - awesome movie!!):

    I'm waiting
    I'm waiting on You, Lord
    And I am hopeful
    I'm waiting on You, Lord
    Though it is painful
    But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
    Taking every step in obedience
    While I'm waiting
    I will serve You
    While I'm waiting
    I will worship
    While I'm waiting
    I will not faint
    I'll be running the race
    Even while I wait

    I'm waiting
    I'm waiting on You, Lord
    And I am peaceful
    I'm waiting on You, Lord
    Though it's not easy
    But faithfully, I will wait
    Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

I fully understand, bro! Excellent analogy. I think ALL of us who long for the appearing of our Savior feel the same way.

And to answer your question— indeed if the "feeling" leads you to witness more and to do so with more passion for the lost and for bringing to Christ that for which He died, then I say "Hallelujah for the feeling!"

with this endtime "awakening" to the hour we all believe we are seeing come to fruition based on what God's Word now seems to be jumping off the page....

It should most definitely produce a heart to "cry out" to those we know aren't prepared

it should also stir repentance in our own lives to keep our priorities in line, in our daily lives.. making sure to Keep our First Love FIRST

    restoring prayer times/family altar's

being a parent, it has stirred in me the importance of not taking for granted the daily gift of TIME

it has quickened in me the need to be ....more prayeful, more studious of God's Word, to be...

more attentive to family and friends needs as opportunity to demonstrate our Father's Love and challenged me to

be quick to forgive, slow to anger...when they don't instantly jump on board with the same zeal and passion I deem necessary

It has caused me to not act like the secular world, when I'm driving in the left hand lane behind someone who is passing four semi's ...with their cruise set at 1mph faster than the trucks they are passing

It causes me to want to be a blessing at my job at a time their's such anxiety

to be a dad to my kids that blesses and praises and comfort's when fear is running amuck and sin and even gross sin is so pervasive "online" in "video games" on "ipod touches" and every other avenue the enemy tries to "come in"

basically in this hour ...we with all that's going on it's just a great time to Live what we say we believe "more urgently and intentionally and passionately" than ever

and truth be told "it's always been and always will be that time" UNTIL.....Our Father says to Jesus

    "Son, it's time"
www.raptureorwrath.com <<<<<<<Turn Up the Volume and CHECK IT OUT***a heartfelt plea to the lost

Romans 13:11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here.

I don't know about a feeling, but more so a "knowing" in my heart. Yesterday I gave out some witnessing material to my unsaved sister, brother and his wife, and not sure if mom is saved. This "knowing " that I have has never been so BOLD in my life! I never would have had the courage to do that a year ago.
Also got some free tracts to give away and a case of the book of psalms.
I have this sense of urgency, and once the material was given away I felt so much better! I pray the HS can use the materials I left to bring them to Christ before it is too late.
BTW, sis wants us to go to see a Trans Siberian Orchestra in may. Checked it out on the internet and it is about Mozart making a deal with the devil and other icky things. Anyone else seen one of their shows?
Seems to me Satan is fighting back! wow.

Like someone mentioned, trusting in our "feelings" sometimes turns out to be unwise. Like the Bible says, the heart of men is deceitfully wicked - even the hearts of those who've been genuinely converted.

I've had these "feelings" before and of course they turned out to be false.

But I believe things are different now. The ball is rolling in the Middle East. The oven has been turned on and it will only get hotter from here on out until all hell breaks loose.

Ahmadinejad has made it clear that this chaos in the Middle East is a sign that his Islamic messiah is near, and that he will soon "conquer Jerusalem". They've made their plans to attack Israel with nuclear weapons very clear now, and they've made it clear that they will do it very soon.

    Days? Weeks?

Months seems like a stretch, and a year or two definitely seems unlikely at this point.

We're definitely in the season, and that's what's important to know.

It's just a matter of time until Iran launches their nukes and starts a nuclear conflagration, plunging the planet into the "time of testing".

    Take care and God bless,

    James

Nothing wrong with trusting your instincts when you are firmly grounded in Scripture....matter of fact, Jesus tells us to be on the lookout for trouble and when you sense it to flee away immediately....... (this is what He tells the Israelites to do when the trouble comes in the Tribulation (to flee to the hills at the first sign of trouble) Often the first sign is a feeling that you have telling you something is not right.....

    WONDERFUL WISDOM !!!
Consider the words of Omar M. Ahmad, founder of CAIR: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant." ... "The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America , and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

In response to the words Glenn quoted from Mattfivefour, i'll say this:

We can try and convince ourselves and others that we're some holy and pious Christians "doing the Lord's work" and not worrying or contemplating about supposed "trivial" matters such as when the rapture will happen, but in the end we're only fooling ourselves, and more importantly, we're fooling God.

Sure, such words sound good and fluffy duffy hunky dory, but are they really scriptural? I don't think so.

In regards to being "disappointed" when the rapture doesn't happen during the time frame we expected, it shouldn't hinder our faith or conviction if we're solidly entrenched in God's promises and being genuinely led by the Holy Spirit. If one becomes "disappointed" or gives up hope in the rapture because a time period goes by, means that their faith isn't solid to begin with.

But if there were any "risks of focusing on the likely nearness of the Rapture" (which I don't think there are any), they are far outweighed by the benefits of focusing on the likely nearness of the rapture.

It's sad, but I bet there are many professing Christians who openly proclaim their belief in the imminent rapture, but yet inwardly and secretly wish it was more far off. Perhaps they're too preoccupied with this world and its comforts, pleasures and acquaintances, and although they say they desire to go to Heaven, their heart is still here on Earth.

Time is short. The signs are all around us. This Middle East turmoil is just 'different'. We've entered into a whole new phase with this thing. Not only does life as we have known it appear to be on the brink of ending, but the true Christian has now grown unprecedentedly tired of their fallen body and this fallen planet, and so therefore the thought of their departure is going to naturally consume their mind - not to the point of causing them to be unproductive - quite the opposite. But if we claim to be literally "not from this world", as Jesus says, and "aliens and strangers" on this planet, like Peter says, then we should begin to think something is wrong if we're not "focusing on the likely nearness of the rapture".

As I read through these posts I was thinking of the feelings I have been experiencing and then this one hit the nail on the head. Life as I knew it has already began it's departure. My own personal situation is experiencing a huge shake "down" as if I am shedding my attachment here. This is not something I chose to do, but the economic situation has forced me to change my whole life---from a busy career woman to a part-timer who is at home most of the time. I must add, that this turn of events has contributed to a rise in my current feelings. But looking around and feeling the "vibes" out there, I don't believe it is just me. Even people who still have jobs and are doing well financially are feeling something.

My husband casually mentioned one day recently after a discussion about the turn of events in the world and our rather simple semi-self-sufficient lifestyle, that "we are not of this world". I feel I am becoming increasingly "out of place" here. I have mentioned many times in my prayers, especially since I closed my business, that I feel lost in this world---I have tried to revive my business, I have looked for new jobs and can't seem to find my way back. In my personal life, all the things that once interested me, doesn't anymore.

It has occurred to me from time to time that maybe it is because I am waiting to go home.
    Home with Jesus.

In the meantime, I pray a lot, try to stay engaged with the little bit of business I've held on to, my home life, my family, and my friends while looking for opportunities to do God's work.

Unless He show's me another way to get by on this planet, I'm really hoping
He just "whisks me (and all of you, too) off my feet" one of these days---real soon.

What a wonderfully beautiful post! Amen! We are in this world but we are indeed not OF this world. We are strangers and pilgrims here. Like you and your hubby, I and my wife and our children and their spouses and all of our grandchildren (except two—and we do not cease praying for them) can hardly wait to go home. One day. One day. And in the meantime what a privilege and a pleasure it is to serve Him!
