Jesus Christ is coming on May 21, 2011?

The Associated Press is reporting that Harold Camping, leader of California-based Family Radio Worldwide, has decided that the Rapture of the Church and the day of judgment are going to occur on May 21, 2011. According to the report, Camping calculated that date based on "his reading of the Bible". Really? I wonder if he caught a glimpse of the following while doing his reading?
Matthew 24:43-44: But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Mark 13:32-33: But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
In spite of the direct teaching of God's Word that we cannot possibly know the day nor the hour of Christ's return, Harold Camping has figured it out - and droves of his faithful followers are spreading his completely contradictory prophecy to everyone they can.
The AP story quotes one such follower, Allison Warden, as saying, "We're hoping people won't take our word for it, or Harold Camping's word for it. We're hoping that people will search the scriptures for themselves."
Given that Mr. Camping and his followers are using billboards, bus stop benches, pamphlets and caravans of his followers traveling about telling everyone to prepare for Christ's May 21, 2011 return, I sincerely pray that no one will take Mr. Camping's word either! As his own follower ironically suggested everyone should, I sincerely pray those who hear of Camping's 'prophecy' will search the scriptures for themselves and discover that Jesus Christ's return isn't a calculable event by God's design as shown in scripture above!
While Christ's return could, hypothetically speaking, occur on May 21st, it could just as likely happen on August 15th, February 3rd, June 19th, January 14th or December 1st. He could come on any of those dates in 2011 - or a totally different date in 2013 (or any other year). With all due respect to Mr. Camping and his followers, Jesus Christ could even come today. That is what the Bible teaches!
In closing, Jesus Christ's return is drawing nearer by the moment, both conditionally and chronologically, but to set a date for His return is defiant of bible prophecy, not supportive of it.
If, after reading this commentary, anyone still feels like circling May 21, 2011 on their calendar, I'm okay with it but only if they circle every other date as worthy of keeping watch for Christ's return as well.
