Liberal Media Exposed -- But Is It Too Late?
    By Todd Strandberg

The public is starting to wake up to the true nature of the liberal media. A new poll by the Gallup Organization finds that 57 percent of Americans say they have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly. This is a far cry from 1970s, when more than 70 percent of the population thought the media was very trustworthy.

I'm glad to finally see the liberal media being regarded as a force that guides public opinion. One of the first articles I wrote for Rapture Ready was titled "Satan's Little Helpers." It should be a no-brainer that the devil would use the press to control the world:

Although Satan has a host of demonic angels throughout the world, there is one area from which the devil finds himself mostly restricted. Satan and company are spiritual beings, which makes them incapable of acting in this physical realm. Satan's little helpers must be of flesh and bone. So this is where the need for human organizations comes in. In the nations where the devil has dictators in command, he can use them directly to control those countries. In the "free world," Satan has found that the liberal media makes an effective tool with which to guide and control society.

For many years, I've been frustrated over the public's inability to see how the liberal media twists the news to fit its left-wing agenda. How can we possibly hope to win the culture war when we have an agent who is constantly putting its own spin on reality?

Liberals are so dedicated to their cause that they will sacrifice everything for the liberal agenda. In 2004, Dan Rather destroyed his career as the anchor of CBS news with his effort to defame President George W. Bush's Texas Air National Guard service record. When a group of bloggers called into question the authenticity of these documents, the network was forced to retract its story. Rather admitted that the evidence was bogus, yet he had blindly believed the story in spite of its missing evidence.

CNN is probably the best example of liberal bias at work. At one time, CNN was the king of the roster. When Fox News came along, CNN lost 80 percent of its viewers. The demographic of the nation explains why: 60 percent of the population views itself at conservative, and people of the right are more likely to watch news.

What was CNN's reaction to this mass exodus? Of course, it became all the more liberal. The few conservatives who were at the network were forced out. They did have a brief relapse when they hired Glenn Beck to host a show on its sister network's "Headline News." Beck left for Fox right when CNN said it was planning to remove one of his nightly telecasts.

CNN now has a whole new concept of what qualifies as conservative. I was reading a report about the Rick Sanchez scandal, and my eye caught a review of a new entry: "Parker Spitzer"--a prime-time talk show anchored by disgraced ex-New York governor Eliot Spitzer and conservative columnist Kathleen Parker. Since I had never heard of Parker, I looked her up on Wikipedia and found how only in CNN's twisted world she could be seen as a conservative match for the liberal Eliot Spitzer:

On "Larry King Live," she said of President Barack Obama: "I'm a big fan of Barack Obama as he came into office, and was not one of those Republicans who wanted him to do badly."

Parker made news during the 2008 U.S. presidential election when she called on the Republican vice presidential nominee, Governor Sarah Palin, to step down from the party ticket.

She referred to evangelical Christians in another column as "gorillas," "low-brows," and "ooggedy-boogedy."

The fractionalization of media is what has broken liberals' stranglehold on news reporting. People can to turn to prophecy sites like Rapture Ready to find a resource that fits their end-time view. Today, I have so many sources for news that I don't need to turn to the old media for information. The only reason I do watch liberal news is see how they are reporting events.

I'm not sure the downturn in people's view of the liberal media is all that hopeful. The key factor at work here is that hard times have forced Americans to look for the source of our nations problems. There is no quick fix at this point. Liberals have polluted the minds of two, going on three, generations of our fellow citizens.

There is still some hope that next month's election will turn things around in Washington DC, but I'm not holding my breath.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Cor. 10:3-5).

    Thanks for the article, Chris.

IMO, of course it is too late. I believe that Satan has accomplished exactly what he desired, set up USA for a slippery slope ride into bankruptcy, on which we now are enjoying the ride into oblivion, slipping away, no matter who takes the house, or the Senate, since Liberals will still hold enough votes to stop any corrective legislation.

Couple the ride down the financial slope, with a soon to be Rapture, and USA has no way but the highway to Socialism left to follow. What has happened, IMO, now allows this nation to be a non-player, in Tribulation, but an excellent supply of fire-power, to the nation that can grab, and hold the assets we have accumulated. Nuff Said.

I agree with Arley, it's too late. The liberal agenda now has had four or five decades to brainwash the coming generations. I realize that the nation is still overall right-of-center, but the way the liberals have overtaken the media, the Dept of Education, environmentalism (the Vietnam War protesters morphed into this), the unions, the support they give to the homosexual agenda so that it's becoming mainstream, I think it's too much to overcome within a relatively short time span. What would it mean? Electing conservative presidents, Senates, and Houses of Reps for the next 30+ years to finally muzzle liberalism? It ain't gonna happen. Oh, the conservatives are likely to have some nice little victories here and there, hopefully one in about 13 days, but Obama was put here for a reason. Reagan spoke of the shining city upon the hill, Obama speaks of fundamentally transforming America.

(On a side note, has anyone ever heard Obama say anything nice about America?)

And I'm hoping it's a short span of time. I'd love for the Rapture to occur now, but realistically, I still think we have at least a little way to go. Once I see (and I believe we'll be here for this) Psalms 83/Isaiah 17 happen, then I'm going to get REEEAALLL excited! But, yeah, I'm very willing to check out with the rest of you now, so that we can leave them all to themselves, one big liberal (and Muslim) love fest--and see how they like it when the proverbial you-know-what hits the fan! As Arley is fond of saying, I hope we can watch it all from the bleachers.

    W8n4theSon, Shalom.

You say: "(On a side note, has anyone ever heard Obama say anything nice about America?)" Hmmm,

Define 'nice,' as in relation to what??, Dislike, Hatred, Utter Hatred, Can't Sleep a Wink Hatred, or Shrug of Shoulders Hatred?? I guess you could make it impossible, if you used Friendly Hatred, Actually Love (sorry for the delay, I just got sick and had to barf)...Nah, nothing in the ,,ooops I'm getting sick again. I must return to some semblance of the truth,,,, is there any other type 'Hatred' I may have missed?? Ah, I'm beginning to feel a tad better, now that I am back using True descriptive words relating to how I feel he feel about having a nice feel for the country. I'm Done.

It really depends upon whom we are saying it is "too late" for.

If we mean "for this world", then by all means it is too late!! Anything controlled by human beings is subject to the decaying, corrupting touch of sin, and the media is no exception.

But the real problem is not simply that the media has been tainted by sin, but that ALL things in this world have been ensnared by the ghostly, haze-grey shroud of sin that lies upon all creation. Regardless of whether it is liberal, conservative, or in between, sin is there, and its' effects are seen. I don't know where we came up with the idea that "Conservative = Christian", but the sad reality is that even if the media were conservative, the government were conservative, and this nation were conservative, it would not necessarily make them all "Christian".

Conservative is a political point of view; Christian is a relationship with the Christ of the Bible.

Because most of this world is unsaved, it doesn't matter whether the "liberal media: is exposed. There could be neon signs proclaiming the bias and the world would not care!! We need to view not only what the "liberal" media says through the lens of scripture, but EVERYTHING that we see, hear or come across in this world. Unless it is of the Lord and firmly follows scripture, anything liberal or conservative can be just as misleading.

And for the record: there are those in the media that are NOT liberal, that walk with the Lord, and whom strive to serve him and purvey the truth, not error. My brother in Christ Adrian comes predominantly to mind. :)
