Gog-Magog Update: Turkey and Iran Now Friends

On 8-28-2005, almost five years ago to the day, I wrote the following:

Bible prophecy seems to tell us modern day Turkey (biblical Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah), is going to join Russia and an Arab/Islamic alliance in an attempt to invade the nation of Israel in the prophetic future, as seen in the 38th chapter of the book of Ezekiel. Could it be we're seeing, in the news of our world today, evidence the military alliance of the Gog-Magog invasion is coming into view on the prophetic horizon? Absolutely!

Middle East Newsline is currently reporting Turkey, long an enemy of Russia and vice versa, "has been examining a range of offers of military and defense systems from Russia." Imagine that!

The article quotes a Turkish official as saying the following, which is very revealing in my opinion: "Many things have changed over the last year, and the key change is that Russia and Turkey are no longer enemies and that Moscow is no longer an enemy of NATO."

Back in 2005 I was amazed at how the military alliance described in Ezekiel 38 was materializing on the prophetic horizon. Russia and Turkey having made friends, it wasn't hard to imagine that Turkey and biblical Persia (modern day Iran) would soon be cozying up to one another. It didn't take long for that to begin occurring. On 1-11-2006, I wrote the following, in part (emphasis added mine):

"...Iranian president Mahmud Ahmadinejad said earlier this week that "Iran and Turkey can act as a link between the East and the West in various economic, political and security fields." Iran and Turkey a link between the East and West?

What odd bedfellows one would think Iran and Turkey would make, given Turkey is a member of NATO presently trying to gain membership into the European Union - the same EU the Iranians are presently in conflict with in relation to its nuclear goals. Or would they? As I've stated on numerous occasions, I have been anticipating Turkey growing closer to its future Gog-Magog allies in preparation for Gog-Magog to occur. As such, this comes as no real surprise to me."

Before we go any further, I want to be very clear in stating that my anticipation that Turkey was going to grow closer to its future Gog-Magog allies had nothing to do with the amazing, near supernatural foresight of Michael G. Mickey. On the other hand, what it had everything to do with - and does to this day - is the prophetic Word of God. I confidently wrote what I did in the past on this subject looking into the future through the lens of bible prophecy, which is why I'm about to reveal that a couple of nations I once described as "odd bedfellows", namely Iran and Turkey, are now officially friends as the headline of an Israel National News article reveals: "It's Official: Turkey and Iran are Friends".

The opening paragraph of the I.N.N. article reads:

Amid concerns by Western countries of the warming of ties between Turkey and Iran, both of them Moslem but non Arab countries, it appears as though relations between the two countries are becoming stabilized.

Western countries have every reason to be concerned as this is but the beginning of a friendship that will both lead to war in the Middle East, as well as the fury of the Lord coming up in His face (Ezekiel 38:18) and the fire of His wrath being revealed against the enemies of Israel for a time. (Ezekiel 38:19)

Looking Forward

The bible tells us, in Ezekiel 38, that the following nations are going to align themselves and make a surprise attack on the nation of Israel:

* Magog - Most agree this is a reference to Russia.
* Meshech - Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia, but some say it refers to the Moscow area.
* Tubal - Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia.
* Persia - modern Iran
* Ethiopia
* Libya
* Gomer - eastern Europe or Turkey
* Togarmah - southeastern Europe or Turkey

With Iran and Turkey officially declared as friends, the prophetic time clock just moved a few ticks closer to fulfillment of the Gog-Magog prophecy. How amazing is that to consider? Not only that, how blessed have we been to have watched this materialize through the years together as the Lord has blessed me to document? Folks, we are witnessing things the prophets of old wrote about thousands of years ago! If you're a Christian and that doesn't excite you, have someone check your pulse and respiration to see if you're still alive!

One last thing I want to remind everyone is that the battle of Gog-Magog is prophesied to take place in "the latter years" or end times! (Ezekiel 38:8)

For years now I've been sounding the alert that Jesus Christ is coming soon and, while He hasn't come yet, I am very confident that His return is near, even at the door!

Chris, what are your thoughts on Ethiopia being part of this alliance? Ethiopia is an 3rd world country and is so insignificant at the moment.

I don't know what Chris thinks, but I see it as similar in nature to other military alliances of recent years. Although we had a coalition of nations backing us in the last Iraq war, some of them provided little other than stated support for the mission and some funding. Others sent a few hundred troops. Ethiopia's role could be similar in scope.
