Default Don’t Tread On Me: The Second American Revolution

    By Sean Osborne, Associate Director

30 JULY 2010: A storm has been brewing for some time now in all levels of the American populace. Ever since the day that Barack Hussein Obama opened his “Office of the President-Elect” and then actually succeeded in usurping the office of Chief Executive and Commander-IN-Chief, there have been ever increasing rumblings across this great land. So much so that from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts the American heartland has been bubbling with words not heard since our Founding Fathers cut colonial ties with Great Britain, and several southern states rebelled over the issue of State’s Rights. Join or Die. Don’t Tread On Me. Tea Party. Civil Disobedience. Secession. Revolution. The elite in Washington, D.C. would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see this coming.

And it just got easier. In yesterday’s issue of The Washington Times, Jeffrey T. Kuhner wrote an opinion piece entitled “Should Arizona Secede: Choice between devolution and dissolution may be inevitable.” Previous top-notch OpEds by Kuhner include: “President’s socialist takeover must be stopped,” and “Who Lost Afghanistan.” However, it is yesterday’s article which clearly shows where the “rubber meets the road” in America today, that a breaking point is all but inevitable when the will of “We The People” is usurped, over-ridden or ignored one time too many.

Jeffrey Kuhner’s concluding paragraphs lay it squarely on the line.

“For too long, liberals have successfully used the courts to impose radical social engineering upon a recalcitrant population. Abortion, homosexual marriage, pornography, racial quotas, affirmative action, a ban on public school prayer – all of these issues have been imposed by an imperial judiciary against the wishes of the majority. The Arizona law is the reassertion of democratic self-rule against the federal leviathan.

Arizona is where the old republic will stand or fall. It is showdown at high noon. Either America returns to its constitutional system based on real federalism, states’ rights, individual liberty and decentralized power, or it continues to slide toward the darkness of a socialist superstate. Washington – with its swollen bureaucracy, imperial arrogance, rampant corruption and dangerous detachment from ordinary citizens – is despised and distrusted by many Americans. A secession of the heart is taking place – a profound alienation from the liberal ruling class.

In the future, many states – including Arizona – may decide they have no other option but to break away from the union. The choice is becoming starkly apparent: devolution or dissolution.”

It is just a few more months until national mid-term elections occur and the will of the people is manifest. This coming election will go a long way in determining America’s near-term future, and what precisely need be done to ensure our God-given right to restore this Republic to the law of our Constitution. One way or another it is to going to happen.

Kind of a strange echo from the not too distant past..........maybe not so far -fetched?

Russian Analyist Predicts the Downfall and Breakup of U.S.
    By Michael Merritt - Last updated: Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - Save & Share - Comments (3)
    Via The Drudge Report:

A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.

Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: “The dollar is not secured by anything. The country’s foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse.”

As for the apparently imminent breakup:

He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts – the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

Does he mean like the Russian-dominated Soviet Union from about 1986-1991? His argument seems to assume the financial turmoil will cause massive revolt.

Asked why he expected the U.S. to break up into separate parts, he said: “A whole range of reasons. Firstly, the financial problems in the U.S. will get worse. Millions of citizens there have lost their savings. Prices and unemployment are on the rise. General Motors and Ford are on the verge of collapse, and this means that whole cities will be left without work. Governors are already insistently demanding money from the federal center. Dissatisfaction is growing, and at the moment it is only being held back by the elections and the hope that Obama can work miracles. But by spring, it will be clear that there are no miracles.”

He also cited the “vulnerable political setup”, “lack of unified national laws”, and “divisions among the elite, which have become clear in these crisis conditions.”

The first has happened before: The Great Depression and, to a lesser extent, in other recessions. No revolts there! The second paragraph is a rather weak argument to me. The political setup of the U.S. has gone on for more than 200 years, and it has some issues, but nothing that’ll cause lots of strife. As for lack of unified laws, well, Americans tend to like state-based legislation. And divisions between the mid and upper classes is nothing new, even in Russia.

It seems to me that Panarin doesn’t have any idea what he’s talking about, much less a good grasp on the early history of the U.S. I know there are seccessionist movements out there. There are ones in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Alaska. There are also regional ones (a western state association with British Columbia for instance). But such movements hold little or no sway, and I see no reason to think this fiscal crisis will strengthen them further.

Nice try Mr. Panarin. But it’s not happening.

Will Washington's Failures Lead To Second American Revolution?
By ERNEST S. CHRISTIAN AND GARY A ROBBINS
    Posted 06:30 PM ET

The Internet is a large-scale version of the "Committees of Correspondence" that led to the first American Revolution — and with Washington's failings now so obvious and awful, it may lead to another.

People are asking, "Is the government doing us more harm than good? Should we change what it does and the way it does it?"

Pruning the power of government begins with the imperial presidency.

Too many overreaching laws give the president too much discretion to make too many open-ended rules controlling too many aspects of our lives. There's no end to the harm an out-of-control president can do.

Bill Clinton lowered the culture, moral tone and strength of the nation — and left America vulnerable to attack. When it came, George W. Bush stood up for America, albeit sometimes clumsily.

Barack Obama, however, has pulled off the ultimate switcheroo: He's diminishing America from within — so far, successfully.

He may soon bankrupt us and replace our big merit-based capitalist economy with a small government-directed one of his own design.

He is undermining our constitutional traditions: The rule of law and our Anglo-Saxon concepts of private property hang in the balance. Obama may be the most "consequential" president ever.

The Wall Street Journal's steadfast Dorothy Rabinowitz wrote that Barack Obama is "an alien in the White House."

His bullying and offenses against the economy and job creation are so outrageous that CEOs in the Business Roundtable finally mustered the courage to call him "anti-business." Veteran Democrat Sen. Max Baucus blurted out that Obama is engineering the biggest government-forced "redistribution of income" in history.

Fear and uncertainty stalk the land. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke says America's financial future is "unusually uncertain."

A Wall Street "fear gauge" based on predicted market volatility is flashing long-term panic. New data on the federal budget confirm that record-setting deficits in the $1.4 trillion range are now endemic.

Obama is building an imperium of public debt and crushing taxes, contrary to George Washington's wise farewell admonition: "cherish public credit ... use it as sparingly as possible ... avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt ... bear in mind, that towards the payment of debts there must be Revenue, that to have Revenue there must be taxes; that no taxes can be devised, which are not ... inconvenient and unpleasant ... ."

Opinion polls suggest that in the November mid-term elections, voters will replace the present Democratic majority in Congress with opposition Republicans — but that will not necessarily stop Obama.

A President Obama intent on achieving his transformative goals despite the disagreement of the American people has powerful weapons within reach. In one hand, he will have a veto pen to stop a new Republican Congress from repealing ObamaCare and the Dodd-Frank takeover of banks.

In the other, he will have a fistful of executive orders, regulations and Obama-made fiats that have the force of law.

Under ObamaCare, he can issue new rules and regulations so insidiously powerful in their effect that higher-priced, lower-quality and rationed health care will quickly become ingrained, leaving a permanent stain.

Under Dodd-Frank, he and his agents will control all credit and financial transactions, rewarding friends and punishing opponents, discriminating on the basis of race, gender and political affiliation. Credit and liquidity may be choked by bureaucracy and politics — and the economy will suffer.

He and the EPA may try to impose by "regulatory" fiats many parts of the cap-and-trade and other climate legislation that failed in the Congress.

And by executive orders and the in terrorem effect of an industrywide "boot on the neck" policy, he can continue to diminish energy production in the United States.

By the trick of letting current-law tax rates "expire," he can impose a $3.5 trillion 10-year tax increase that damages job-creating capital investment in an economy struggling to recover. And by failing to enforce the law and leaving America's borders open, he can continue to repopulate America with unfortunate illegals whose skill and education levels are low and whose political attitudes are often not congenial to American-style democracy.

A wounded rampaging president can do much damage — and, like Caesar, the evil he does will live long after he leaves office, whenever that may be.

The overgrown, un-pruned power of the presidency to reward, punish and intimidate may now be so overwhelming that his re-election in 2012 is already assured — Chicago-style.

I applaud IBD for a gutsy (sobering) editorial. I hope this thread has some "legs" as the topic is a vital one.

Many of our founders are looking down from above. I wonder if they are cheering seeing Gabe taking a deep breath putting his lips the the trump, or weeping at a bright light flickering as it runs low on H.S. oil (not petro).

Mike - - In the spirit of sunshine, this should make you feel better.....It leaves me with with a strengthened conviction there little difference between a Progressive Republican and a Progressive Democrat BHO's count currently stands at 54 that rate would equal 228 over eight years.

Gee, thanks Glenn! Are you trying to give me a migraine? I agree about little difference between progressives in either party but I THINK McCain MIGHT have been a little better than BHO but we'll never know. The Rs have to take the House this fall and put a serious dent in the majority in the Senate.

McCain a little better than BHO? I think the difference would be infinitesimally small. As Lou Dobbs said, " Just the other wing of the same bird."

Whatever happens..we should just focus on Jesus. It seems that in hard times faith in God is always the hardest to muster up, and usually when you tell others who are in the hole that we should have faith in God..they snap at you for it. We should always focus on Jesus, not just because things are hard..but when things are hard thats when our faith is really tested, and while I dont always have as much faith as I should, or do what I should, I try to have faith. These are crucial times.

When we are in eternity with Jesus, we will all look back on this and say, what fools we were for worrying about things like this!

Actually, I'm not worried about the adverse news anymore than I worry about encountering in-flight turbulence on a cross-country flight. It is more likely to be encountered over the "Rockies". We're living in the "Time of the Signs"!

The promise of our redemption is drawing near. Never-the-less, headlines are like the roaring lion seeking who he may cut from the herd. This does not mean we can not be indignant about the tactics he throws at us.

Many have been praying for revival for the United States. Many have been overwhelmed by the lack of spiritual in this country. Maybe BHO is the answer to those prayers!

    He does indeed!

And in view of that fact, fear truly is unbelief. We need to daily yield to Christ so that He may draw us closer and closer until we are so filled with the image of His grace that there is no more room for fear. Instead, with the same simple, unquestioning faith with which a little child trusts his mom and dad to do the right thing and protect him, we need to trust our God to protect us.
