Default Rebuilding the Third Temple (March 16) ??

(this article is dated Monday, November 30, 2009)

Will the Third Temple be built next year?
Will the Third Temple be built next year?

According to a centuries-old rabbinical prophecy that appears to be coming true, on March 16, 2010, Israel will begin construction of the Third Temple in Jerusalem.

During the 18th century, the Vilna Gaon, a respected rabbinical authority, prophesied that the Hurva Synagoge in Jerusalem, which was built during his day, would be destroyed and rebuilt twice, and that when the Hurva was completed for the third time, construction on the Third Temple would begin.

The Hurva Synagogue was first destroyed shortly after its initial construction when Muslims demanding the return of loans tore it down. The synagogue was rebuilt a hundred years later and became the most important Jewish house of worship in the Holy Land, only be blown to pieces by Jordanian troops during Israel's 1948 War of Independence.

In 2001, Israel finally decided to rebuild the landmark, which today stands in the center of the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem's Old City. The building is scheduled to be completed and the Hurva Synagogue dedicated for the third time on March 15 of next year.

Just the thought of Jews ascending Mount Moriah with merely the intent to begin rebuilding the Temple sounds like a very, very plausible casus belli in precipitating a violent reaction from the Arab League, and that is also entirely consistent with being a trigger for the literal fulfillment Psalm 83:1-8.

March 15/16, 2010 is as imminent as anything can be.

Keep in mind that the war described by Asaph is without question a war of extermination. No one alive on earth today has the faculty to conceptualize such a war. Add the nuclear, chemical and biological warfare aspects of Isaiah 17 and it is all essentially imcomprehensible. And we will very probalby be here as eyewitnesses.

I heard about this Rabbinical prophesy regarding the Herva Synagogue earlier this week. I don't know how much stock to put into it, but wouldnt be at all surprised it if happens. There are those in the Jewish community that are aching to see the Temple rebuilt and a return to following the laws and practices in the Torah. I have actually spoken with Rabbi Richman at a talk he gave here in Texas. My impression of him is he a sincere humble and very reverent man that wants to follow God, and there mission is to rebuild the Temple.

If they build it...we are that much closer to the Rapture, the tribulation, and Jesus setting up His Kingdom! Exciting Exciting EXCITING!!!

    [B]International Temple Mount Awareness Day:

The following organizations are participating in the first annual
    International Temple Mount Awareness Day:

Israel: The Temple Institute, Organization for the Renewal of the Temple (ORT), Women in Green, Matot Arim, Manhigut Yehudit, The Nascent Sanhedrin, The Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, The Organization for Human Rights on Temple Mount, Radio Free Nachlaot, El Har Hashem - The Temple Mount Advocacy Council, Israel National Radio

International: World Committee for the Land of Israel, Jewish Activists Network, Bnai Elim, All4Israel, Americans for a Safe Israel (AFSI)

    ARE YOU AWARE THAT:

The Temple Mount is the holiest place in the world; yet Jews and all non-Moslems are denied the right to pray in groups, and even as individuals; this refusal is accompanied by their constant degradation, and they are granted no opportunity for any religious expression whatsoever on the Temple Mount.

Only Jews are forced to wait an extended period of time before being allowed through security.

Only Jews are forced to present their ID’s to the police.

Only Jews are followed and harassed by Israeli police and Muslim Wakf guards throughout the entire visit on the Mount.

Only Jews are arrested for crimes such as prayer, closing eyes, bowing down or singing.

The Prime Minister of Israel has failed to include the Temple Mount in his own "Heritage Plan," among those sites of historical, cultural and religious significance to the Jewish people, to receive enhanced government budgeting for the improvement of access, upkeep, and beautification of the sites.

The Mount has completely been abandoned to the Muslim Authorities and is used by Muslims for the following blasphemous activities:

Illegal digs causing unparalleled destruction of archeological evidence of the Holy Temple and the historical Jewish presence on the Mount.

Endless incitement against the Jewish State and Nation from within the Mosques.

Physical attacks against Jews on the Mount and down below at the Western Wall

THE FIRST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL TEMPLE MOUNT AWARENESS DAY:
    MARCH 16TH, ROSH CHODESH NISAN

In response to this we are calling on all groups to unite to begin fighting this ongoing travesty. We are calling for a day of action to be known as “International Temple Mount Awareness Day." We have no illusions and we fully understand that a long battle is still in front of us, but yet we must begin the work. We must bring the Temple Mount back into our national heart and mind and begin to restore it to its former glory. Yes, this will be a long difficult path, but so was our return to Zion after 2,000 years of exile. Our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents had their mission and we have ours.

We call on Jews to arrive at the Temple Mount Mugrabi Gate, on the morning of March 16th, after immersion in a kosher mikveh, in accordance with Torah law, in order to ascend the Temple Mount. Please arrive at the gate no later than 7:15 am and please come wearing non-leather shoes in accordance with Torah law. In addition a guide will be available at 6:15am in the Rova square to escort men to the Shuvu Banim Mikveh in the old city. Please be on time. Gentiles are likewise invited and encouraged to join us! (Questions concerning the aliya, please email: hatenua@gmail.com, rabbirichman@gmail.com)

We call on Jews and Gentiles around the world to make known their disatisfaction with the ongoing injustice to the Prime Minister of Israel, by telephone, by fax, and by email.

We call on Jews and Gentiles around the world to make March 16th, Rosh Chodesh Nisan, a day of solidarity with the Temple Mount and the prophetic vision of "a house of prayer for all nations."

We call on Jews and Gentiles around the world to mark March 16th, Rosh Chodesh Nisan, by assembling in prayer and discussion, spreading the word and raising awareness about the injustices being committed on the Temple Mount. We suggest holding prayer vigils outside Israeli Consulates and the Embassies.

Why have we chosen Rosh Chodesh Nisan, the first day of the month of Nisan as International Temple Mount Awareness Day?

This day is the anniversary of the dedication of the Tabernacle.

This day is the first day of the Divine service.

This day is the day on which fire descended from Heaven onto the altar, and the first day in which the Shechina, the Divine Presence, rested in the Tabernacle.

Nisan is the month of Redemption, the month in which our forefathers were redeemed from Egyptian bondage. But the month is called so not only because of the upcoming Festival of Passover and our ancestors' passage from slavery to freedom. Tradition teaches that in the future, as well, the great and final redemption will take place in Nisan. Let us do our part to make it happen!

We know God is really big on certain dates!!!!

The 2009 Chanukah March of the Temple Mount Faithful Movement

A Call for the Purification of the Temple Mount and the Immediate Rebuilding of the Holy Temple During the Very Critical Period in End-Time History of Israel Occurred on December 15, 2009 by the Temple Mount Faithful Movement, Who Marched From Modi'in to the Temple Mount.

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement marched on December 15, 2009/Kislev 28, 5770 from Modi'in, the historical city of the Maccabees, to the Biblical city of Jerusalem and to the Holy Temple Mount. This exciting and G-dly event took place during the very critical period in Israel's end-time history when Israel is busy rebuilding the Kingdom of G-d and regathering the people of G-d, while extremely intensive pressure is encompassing Israel from every direction of the world trying to stop G-d's work of redemption, to divide the Holy Land that was given only to Israel through a G-dly covenant, to establish a Palestinian State and to make Jerusalem a Palestinian capital.

Our present era is reminiscent of the period of the ancient Maccabees, when Israel was controlled by the Greek Empire who prohibited Israel from attaining her divine mission of being a holy nation, a kingdom of priests and a light to the nations. Israel, who had sworn to commit herself to be faithful to the One True Living G-d of Israel, immediately rejected the situation when the Greeks desecrated the Holy Temple of G-d in Jerusalem and placed their own pagan idols inside the Holy of Holies of the Temple and forced the Israelites to accept a Hellenistic pagan faith and culture. The Israelites were determined to remain as servants 'only' to the G-d of Israel and never to be slaves to pagan idolatries. In 175 BCE the Jewish revolt against the Greeks began in Modi'in, a town where Hebrew priests resided, when the High Priest Matityahu destroyed a pagan altar and the Greek statues that stood in the city center. Matityahu killed the entire Greek military unit who had come to Modi'in to force the Jews to accept the Grecian pagan faith which made it compulsory to eat pigs. Matityahu called to his people "Mi l'HaShem alai" ("Who is with G-d will come with me"). The first to join him were his five sons and the priests of Modi'in and together they started the G-dly revolt to liberate the Land of Israel from Greek Hellenistic control. Matityahu and his sons adopted the name "Maccabees", an acronym for the Hebrew phrase "Mi camocha b'Elim HaShem", which means "There is no god like the G-d of Israel". The Maccabees' first goal was to liberate the Temple Mount and Jerusalem, to remove the Greek idol seated in the Holy of Holies inside the Holy Temple, to purify the Holy Temple and to immediately renew Temple worship solely to the G-d of Israel. On their way from Modi'in to Jerusalem a small number of Maccabees defeated an enormous number of soldiers that represented the largest army of the ancient Greek period. How could this have happened? The answer is that the G-d of Israel became once again the General and the Commander of the Israelites and gave to His People daunting victories exactly as He did throughout Biblical history, and again, He has done during the days of the modern State of Israel, when He has defeated -- in seven wars since 1948 -- many Arab forces backed by the Soviet Union Empire, the Islamic world and many other nations who have come again and again to destroy Israel. Thanks to the Living Almighty G-d of Israel and the complete faithfulness to Him by the Maccabees, the Maccabees liberated Jerusalem, purified the Temple and renewed Holy Temple worship to the G-d of Israel. Then they liberated the entire Land of Israel and cut-off those weak Israelites who had assimilated into the Hellenistic culture. The Maccabees saved the unique and G-dly identity of the Israelite nation from being assimilated into the Hellenistic world. The Maccabean epoch was a critical turning point in Jewish history when the Israelite nation was successfully protected so that G-d's eternal promise to His chosen people was secured as in the days of Joshua and Caleb.

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement has been called and anointed by the G-d of Israel at a time very similar and significant as the Maccabean period in order to purify the Holy Temple Mount from pagan Arab and Islamic worship and to rebuild the Holy Temple of the G-d of Israel. The Faithful Movement is committed to calling forth the Israeli government and people to purify the Temple Mount and to rebuild the Holy Temple of the G-d of Israel and to bring into fruition the Biblical mandate to serve the G-d of Israel only and to fulfill the Word of G-d: that Israel will again be "... a holy nation, a kingdom of priests, My own treasure from all peoples and a light to the nations.... for all the earth is Mine says the L-rd". (Exodus 19:5,6) We decided to restore the Maccabean heritage among the Israeli leadership and people and to bring this to pass during our lifetime as G-d is expecting us to accomplish this for His Glory.

The Chanukah event of December 2009 was an important stage in the historical and G-dly campaign of the Faithful Movement that began immediately after the Six Days War in 1967, when the Temple Mount, Biblical Jerusalem, the Biblical heritage of Israel in Judea, Samaria, the Sinai, Gaza and the Golan Heights were liberated by the Israeli Army of G-d. At this divine moment in history G-d expected His People Israel to immediately purify His Holy Mountain, rebuild His Temple, and renew worship to the G-d of Israel and also for the Temple to be a house of prayer for all nations (Isaiah 56:7).

The Faithful went to Modi'in on Chanukah to again swear faithfulness to the G-dly message of the Maccabees and to call forth the Israeli people and the Israeli government to attempt to make it a reality in our lifetime. We lit the candles of the Chanukah menorah and the symbolic torch of the Maccabees, which we subsequently carried to Biblical Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. It was an exciting moment when the presence of the G-d of Israel and His love for His faithful children was felt amongst us. This exciting event took place at a time when most of the nations of the world -- including the leader of the United States, President Barack Obama -- are applying aggressive pressure on Israel to again divide the Holy Land of Israel. In addition, they are demanding to establish a foreign and terrorist 'so-called' Palestinian State -- one that never existed in the Land of Israel nor any other place in the world -- and to make Jerusalem the illegitimate capital of this Palestinian entity and in these ways to lead to the destruction of the State of Israel. We came at this critical time to say to all the world and to our Arab and Islamic enemies that the Land of Israel was given by G-d, the Creator of heaven and earth, to His chosen people Israel, and not to any other people, more than 4,000 years ago in an eternal covenant for a holy purpose. Our goal was to share the words of Shimon the Maccabee, the son of Matityahu: "We did not take a foreign land but the land that G-d gave only to us in an eternal covenant thousands of years ago and this holy land of Israel was robbed from us by foreigners and now G-d returned it to us by His miracles and no one in the world has any right to it besides Israel the people of G-d" (The Book of Maccabees). We also spoke to them the Word of G-d spoken through His prophet Joel: "For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Yehuda and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Yehoshafat, and will enter into judgment with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and have divided up my land." (Joel 4:1-2).

We continued from Modi'in to Biblical Jerusalem on the identical route where the Maccabees experienced their victories over the Greeks on their way to liberate Jerusalem and the Temple Mount while we carried the torch of the Maccabees and the menorah to the gates of the Biblical Jerusalem.

In Jerusalem we demonstrated in the midst of the plaza of Jaffa Gate in the Biblical Jerusalem. On the same location where the Maccabees declared the liberation of Jerusalem, we lit the Chanukah menorah with the torch of the Maccabees. We swore faithfulness to the G-d of Israel, to Jerusalem and to His Holy Mountain. During a time when Israel is rebuilding the Kingdom of G-d in the Holy Land, we shared the Word of G-d with all the Arab and Islamic enemies of Israel, with President Barack Obama and with the European Union: "... The G-d of heaven, He will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but you have not portion, or right, or memorial, in Jerusalem" (Nehemiah 2:20). We called forth the people of Israel not to fear any human being but to trust only our Almighty G-d, the G-d of Israel: "... Be not afraid of them: remember the L-rd, who is great and awe inspiring, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses" (Nehemiah 4:8).

From Jaffa Gate the Faithful marched through the streets of Biblical Jerusalem to the Holy Temple Mount, where we felt the presence of the G-d of Israel -- the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- so strongly among us. Here we prayed that G-d will give the wisdom, the courage and the faithfulness of the Maccabees to the government of Israel in order to purify the Holy Temple Mount from our enemies and to immediately start the rebuilding of the House of G-d as the G-d of Israel expects it to do. It was an inspiring moment when we lit the Chanukah menorah facing the Holy of Holies. For almost 2,000 years G-d longed for this great moment to see His children back at His Holy Mountain and glorifying Him with the light of the Chanukah menorah. When we prayed the Ma'alot song of King David we felt that the time is short and soon the Temple of G-d will be rebuilt in the same location as the 1st and 2nd Temples and that the Holy Mountain will be purified from pagan worship and from the presence of the foreign enemy: "I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the L-rd: when our feet stood within thy gates, O Jerusalem; O Jerusalem, built as a city that is compact together: there the tribes used to go up, the tribes of the L-rd, an appointed practice for Israel, to give thanks to the Name of the L-rd. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they who love thee shall prosper: peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. For the sake of the house of the L-rd our G-d I will seek thy good." (Psalm 122).

The Temple Mount and the Land of Israel Faithful Movement is calling on everyone in Israel and throughout the world to encourage, stand and help the Faithful Movement of G-d to bring about this vision of Holy Restoration, which is G-d's expectation to build His Holy House on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem during the lifetime of our generation with no further delay. Only this will bring true G-dly peace, morality and justice in Israel and throughout the whole earth just as G-d spoke to us about the end-times that we are presently experiencing: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the L-rd's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all the nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the L-rd, to the house of the G-d of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth Torah, and the Word of the L-rd from Jerusalem. And He shall judge among the nations, and shall decide among many people: and they shall beat their swords into plow shares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Isaiah 2:2-4).

In the G-d of Israel we trust!

Exciting times we live in.. I can't help but wonder if some of the very people we see that are wanting to build the third temple will one day be saved.. They have such zeal but not a zeal based on knowledge-Rom.10:2.

Regarding the Rumor about the Building of the Holy Temple on March 16th, 2010, and the Story that Lies Behind It

A STORY HAS BEEN CIRCULATING RECENTLY concerning the prophesied commencement of construction on the Holy Temple on March 16th, 2010. It would appear that the current interest began when a certain Israeli daily newspaper published a story claiming that the celebrated Rabbi of Vilna, Eliyahu ben Shlomo, known to this day as the Vilna Gaon, (The genius of Vilna), or by his acronym, the Gra, who lived over 200 years ago, (1720-1797), purportedly declared that the beginning of the redemptive process would commence upon the completion of the rebuilding of the Churva synagogue in Israel. The current excitement has to do with the fact that the Churva synagogue is being rebuilt at this moment and March 15th is scheduled to be the day of its rededication. The essence of this story is very beautiful, and most beautiful is the tremendous anticipation it has been generating.

BY MORPHING TWO DIFFERENT historical happenings into one, the story making the rounds today is one of prophecy, vision, calculating the precise dates of the redemption, and a strong dose of Divine determinism. After all, if March 16th is the projected date, then where is our input? Suppose we want to build the Holy Temple today? And we should so desire, of course, for G-d said, "Build Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them." (Exodus 25:8) Build Me - today, not necessarily on March 16th, 2010.
AS EXCITING AS THIS STORY IS, the true story, from which the current version has taken certain poetic license, is even more exciting. The Gra was very proactive, and he believed that the long awaited redemption depended upon positive steps being taken. He encouraged his disciples to pack up their belongings and move to the land of Israel. This they did, one hundred years before the advent of modern Zionism, and a number of them settled in Jerusalem. Basing himself on the Gra's mystical teachings, his most accomplished student, and leader of the Jerusalem community, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Mishklov, was of the conviction that the completion of a certain Jerusalem synagogue, known as the Churva, was an essential roadmark on the path toward redemption. Now at the time the holy land was under the authority of the Ottoman empire, and so when the followers of the Gra took upon themselves to complete the construction of the unfinished Churva synagogue, they needed first to be granted permission to do so by the Ottoman authorities. After twenty years of effort, in 1836 they were finally given the long sought go ahead. They began the rebuilding embued with the sense that the redemption was truly under way. A number of traditional observations marking the destruction of the Holy Temple were dropped from their daily and Shabbat liturgy, as they moved forward with the construction of the synagogue. In addition to resettling the land, and rebuilding the Churva synagogue, the community of the Gra's followers in Israel made tremendous efforts to reconvene the Sanhedrin, but in this they did not succeed.

The construction of the Churva synagogue was originally begun in 1700 under the auspices of Yehuda heHassid, who had relocated with his follower from Poland to Jerusalem. The construction ceased upon his death. An ensuing lack of funds prevented the completion of the synagogue, until the effort was taken up by the follower of the Gra, in 1836. The "official" title of the synagogue remains to this day, the Yehuda heHassid Synagogue. The appelation, Churva, which means "a ruin," was given to it in commemoration of the Holy Temple.

THE SYNAGOGUE WAS COMPLETED IN 1856, and was one of Jerusalem's largest structures at the time. Less than one hundred years later, in 1948, during Israel's war of independence, the Jordanian Arab Legion, which occupied Jerusalem's walled city, razed the synagogue to the ground. When Israel liberated the eastern sector of Jerusalem in 1967, which included the old walled city and the Temple Mount, the Churva synagogue was a pile of rubble. Over forty years passed before the rebuilding of the synagogue commenced in 2003. Now, as completion of the synagogue nears, and a rededication ceremony has been set for March 15th, the original enthusiasm of the followers of the Gra from 1936 has been rekindled. Today, however, the enthusiasm has spread from beyond the wall of Jerusalem, and can be felt around the world.

HAVING EXAMINED THE HISTORY of the Churva synagogue, and the source of today's current excitement, it can be stated that heart of the matter is not a prophetic prediction of a precise building-of-the-Temple date, but something, in fact, much more compelling: The taking upon itself by the nation of Israel the performance of prophetic action. The return to Israel and the rebuilding of Jerusalem are precursors to the great event of the rebuilding of the Holy Temple. Israel today, unlike two hundred years ago, has the means and the authority to do so. The realization of the necessity for the rebuilding of the Holy Temple and the renewal of the Divine service for the spiritual revival and redemption of all humanity, is growing day by day. Both inside Israel and abroad, the longing for the Holy Temple is becoming a powerful voice for change. May it be G-d's will that we soon begin the rebuilding of the Holy Temple, if not before the 16th of March, then not a day later!

With the situation the way it is now in the ME, it wouldn't take much to tip the situation over to full-scale war.

Frankly, I think Israel has put up with more than enough of this nonsense, and with the announcement that they would continue to build settlements and that "Jerusalem is ours" , I think Israel had finally had enough of this nonsense.

Don't be surprised if you hear in the near future that Israel is taking back the temple mount.

I place zero credibility in any Rabbinical prophecy at this time. God-breathed prophetic words will not come from any Messiah-denying Jew simply because they are not baptised in the Holy Spirit.

Jewish prophecy will occur when the Two Witnesses in Jerusalem begin their ministry during Daniel's 70th Week and perhaps some of the 144,000 Jewish evangelists during Daniel's 70th Week will also utter prophecy.

Jews on the Temple Mount will incite an Islamic reaction, and that reaction would serve as a catalyst for more significant events as I was attempting to describe above.

So far not a word about it by the major broadcast media in the USA.

I have active search criteria monitoring for any "mainstream" US news agency mention of Hurva Synagogue.

There are Jewish-American news agencies reporting on this, but nothing from Fox, CNN, ABC, CBS or NBC. Foxnews has probably been forbidden to report on this by it primary investor, Sadui Prince Walid bin-Talal. There was one internet report published on Wednesday 10 March by the Wall Street Journal Online, but that generated virtually no interest in the US, nor was the report picked up by the broadcast media. That news cycle is now kaput.

We'll see what happens on Monday/Tuesday. If there are to be fireworks, those are the days to expect them on.

seems more like a smokescreen than prophecy

    Indeed it is.

The question is: Will certain sects of Jews accept Vilna Gaon's "prophecy" as legit and act upon it?

We know there are Jewish sects which are adamantly opposed to its rebuilding, but it's the ones who want the Temple rebuilt that are the concern. That group of Jews might be strongly influenced to act if the re-established Sanhedrin has been discussing the rebuilding of the Temple for at least 5 years now decides to act concretely.

From the above link there's this sentence which illustrates the power or influence such a "prophecy" from the Vilna Gaon might have over a Sanhedrin decision to commence the rebuilding of the Temple based upon a quite specific timing aspect:

The opinion that it is impossible to determine the site of the Temple without prophecy was also presented.
As a follow-up to that 2005 article, the Sanhedrin decided that a Temple should be built in Jerusalem on Temple Mount. Along with the Temple the Sanhedrin also wish to establish a monarchy under a re-established "King of Israel."

Hmmm, so many thoughts on this subject of the third temple....

What kind of Scriptural gymnastics have been done to get around this:

    Genesis 49:10-11
10 The scepter or leadership shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people.
11 Binding His foal to the vine and His donkey's colt to the choice vine, He washes His garments in wine and His clothes in the blood of grapes.

    How does any Jew today live even one day conscious that he is a Jew, and not notice;
that there hasn't been a Temple for nearly 2000 years,
that there has been no atoning sacrifice to cover sins,
that there wasn't a Jewish nation in the land of Israel between AD70 (or was it AD135?) and AD1948,
that the records necessary to prove royal lineage to David, indeed anybody's lineage to any tribe, were destroyed in the second Temple?

How are these serious problems dealt with, without acknowledging that Messiah has come and gone and is coming again in power and glory? Wouldn't a new Temple and sacrifice be a blasphemy, seeing as how the Passover Lamb has been sacrificed already and sin has been dealt with, not just covered? I realise that the Lord is being exceedingly patient and remembers his covenant with His people: however the snagging point is that as people who have been set free by Jesus' Blood, and brought from darkness to light, who are now in the counsel of the Lord and permitted to know the secret things of God (specifically, Jesus Christin us, and we in Him), shouldn't we be concentrating more on telling the Jews of the Gospel of peace, rather than supporting their attempts to reinstate the obsolete?

Don't get me wrong, I am aware that in the Millenium there will be a Temple with a sacrifice, but that is a memorial of the awesome victory of Jesus Christ on the cross, looking back at the past, whereas the OT sacrifice was a prophecy of the future demonstration of God's love and grace. Ok, I hope I expressed myself clearly, and would like to hear how others think. <<retreats to bunker, dons body armour, prays for peaceful answers>>

    micah719,

See Deuteronomy 29:4, Isaiah 29:10 and the entirety of Romans 11 (verse 25 in particular) to know why most Jews are in the unsaved condition that they are in.

Ok, I understand that the Lord has allowed them to be blinded as a nation, and also that individuals are still capable of being saved. To that end the Gospel is to go to the Jews first, and this mission will continue until the Lord returns. So, The Lord is being very patient indeed, not willing that any should perish.

Am I correct in my understanding that the attempt by the Jews to re-instate theTemple and sacrifice system ultimately results in the antichrist entering that temple and declaring himself to be God...seeing as following their rejection of Jesus of Nazareth as King, and their rejection of His sacrifice as The Passover Lamb, and their insistence on continuing the superceded temple system as a perversion from its prophetic function to a religious attempt to please God, they are providing the opportunity for the ultimate evil to play its hand and usurp the place of the Messiah. Remember, The Lord said they would welcome someone that will come in his own name rather than Him, Whose Name is above all others...

So, I'm trying to understand what we as born-again Christians should do...bless and support these efforts to build the third Temple, or take a neutral stance and neither bless or condemn it, or express disapproval of it. The way I see it we should at every opportunity witness the Gospel to the Jews, explain to them the futility and danger and ultimate outcome of this building, but protect them in their freedom and still pray for their salvation and blessings from The Lord. We know from Scripture how the whole thing works out anyway, but surely that doesn't mean we should applaud what is wrong. The reason I'm asking this is that I get the impression there are some Christians that seem to be attaching an unhealthy importance and attitude to this Temple, forgetting that it is in fact a fresh national rejection of the Saviour.

That said, I wish the world would just leave the Jews alone, and be thankful that the Lord chose them as the nation through whom He revealed Himself. Also, I'd rather see the third Temple on Moriah, rather than that shrine to a murderous demonic moon idol. All this is too much for me to handle, I'll leave it the hands of The Lord Jesus Christ...He knows what He is doing. May He especially bless and protect the Jews, and send us all peace, comfort and guidance in the midst of these evil days.

Yes, I'd say that you are correct.

However, one point to consider is that there will be a literal functioning Temple, and not just an attempt to re-instate a temple. I say this is a real Temple because Gabriel about it told Daniel and the Lord Jesus reitierated that prophecy saying, “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’[c] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place.” Were this not a real Temple in the eyes of the Lord then he would not refer to the place where the Abomination of Desolation take place as "the holy place," there would be no abomination unto God. This coming Temple will be as holy as was the 2nd Temple in which the Lord Jesus preached and chased out the money changers in a rage.

Bless and support, preach the Gospel to all mankind and speak to the prophetic Word of God regarding all these things coming to pass because they MUST take place exactly as foretold.

Thank you sir. I was forgetting that we live in a "timeout" phase, once we are taken away the Lord turns back to His people and completes His plan. Oh how great the wisdom, mercy, grace, patience and loving-kindness of our Lord and King! Praying for the peace of Jerusalem and the welfare of His people.

Would the Dome of the Rock be an obstacle in the rebuilding of the Temple? And could the mosque be destroyed by this earthquake:?

Ez 38: 19-20 "there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel..plagues, bloodshed, torrent of rain, hailstones and burning sulfer...

38: 23; "Then they will know I am the Lord"

39: 22; From that day forward, the house of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God
