Default Storm Warnin and a Picnic?

Last night I was getting ready to hit the hay and had prayed and was more than ready to crash but flipped on the tv to catch what new snow amounts to expect

flipping the channel Hal Lindsey was on

and as he was going through the litany of warning signs ...it hit me and not to criticize his ministry in the least (thank God for him) but....

How can He and WE be hearing and seeing the signs that are BLARING loud and clear to "Look Up Your Redeemer draws Near"

not be desperate in brokenness to reach those who are perilously close to facing a time of STORMS that will make Haiti look common place, that will render The Asian Tsunami that killed 230,000 people, a distant memory, that will forever erase 9/11 and Katrina from our focus....a time that unless God shortened the days NO FLESH WILL SURVIVE

Plagues that will wipe out 1/4 of mankind, Nuclear Holocaust, Human cruelty that will defy description, Hail stones stated to weigh a 100lb pounds crashing upon the homes and lives of neighbors, co-worker's, FAMILY MEMBERS who have NOT HEARD the Warnings!!!

So many pulpits are tickling ears at a time Pastor's should be in the deepest travail ...crying out for people to "make ready"

to me it would be like someone watching the News and hearing an F5 Tornado or Hurricane or Volcano or Earthquake was getting ready to happen but instead of crying out ..they are planning a picnic

Seriously ...get a picture of that..You are sitting in your house, The TV Blares...SEVERE WEATHER REPORT....A TORNADO WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR YOUR COUNTY.....but at the same time your getting a call from a local pastor or church member who's getting ready to have a picnic

Please hear the heart of this message...it's NOT to condemn or point fingers!!!! but to stir an Urgeny to sound the alarm to your friends and family while their is still TIME

in 2 Peter 3....Peter said through divine inspiration that in the last days.."Scoffer's would arise saying "Where is the promise of His coming?"

If we are not preparing with the greatest of Urgency ...are we not saying in our own hearts..."where is the promise of His coming?"

Are we living today "in light of Eternity" or in our hearts are we "scoffing?"

I'm praying myself for God to season me with His brokenness...and you too!

it's hard on me because my nature is to never offend anyone ..I want to be liked but I'm having to crucify that and the URGENCY I feel makes me ashamed that I allow my fear of men to keep me from sharing what I feel is laid on my heart to share

I pray that as God opened the eyes of the Prophet to see their were MORE for them than against them...He would open our eyes to the Urgency of this hour...KNOWING His coming is even at the door

Noah was mocked and ridiculed ..YOU KNOW HE WAS

and as it was in the Days of Noah so shall it be

People were eating and drinking (picnics) and giving in marriage..but Noah was GIVING THEM AN F5 Flood Warning...They Listened NOT ...TIL IT STARTED TO RAIN ...but then it was too late!!!

Romans 13:11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here.

You write this because you believe and you care. Both are excellent traits!

What does this thread have to do with you??

If you are reading this thread and you happen to be a pastor, or your a believer and you know family and friends who Don't know Jesus and You KNOW they are headed toward this Disaster Time known as The Great Tribulation

don't be a scoffer at heart and say "where is the promise of His Coming" instead take out a note pad or sit down at your computer and begin to write a heart felt letter that you've been meaning to write..

I know forwards are great and copy and paste are great..BUT there is something so much better that comes from "the heart"

Pastor, don't google this sunday's sermon....Get away into your prayer closet and cry out for boldness and truly preach as if there is NO TOMORROW

to assume otherwise is to assume something that was never promised

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION

SoundingtheAlarm, I guess, some might read your post and say, well, you're getting a wee bit pushy, aren't you? Some might see your post as, for lack of a better word, "in your face" type preaching. All I can say is, YOU KEEP RIGHT ON GETTING IN OUR FACES! You keep right on PREACHING what we a Christians MUST be doing in these End Times. The Word HAS to be shared and, after all, that's what we're called to do. Don't back off KEEP SOUNDING THE ALARM, as well we ALL should be doing!!

life at best is very brief like the falling of a leaf
like the binding of a sheaf, be in time!
if in sin you longer wait, you may find no open gate,
and your cry be just too late, be in time.

Many people will meet the Lord today/tomorrow, the young die as well as the old we should seek the lord now, not thinking that we still have plenty time left. Apart from the fact that Jesus is coming soon to take His own home to Glory.

You are right Mike, and there is ALWAYS a part of me that wants to back off, it's NOT my personality to share what I do, and I know if the messages I share are for anybody they are for me.

"don't be a scoffer Tim, Believe my coming is at the door, don't get complacent, don't draw back ...don't be timid"

I hope to never come across in any manner of condemnation or condescension but Only to share the Urgency I feel put on my heart.

Personally, I get the awesome opportunity to witness to people everyday. And, I absolutely understand the point and the heart of the message of this thread. However, I also encourage believers to rest in the fact that Jesus made it clear in John 6:38-40 that it is His job to gather His church and that not ONE will be lost of those that are His. He does not need our assistance, but because of His love and grace toward us gives us the opportunity to be a part of leading others to Him by sharing the good news. When I really internalized these verses it made witnessing to others so much easier and natural and took all of the pressure off of me to try and "save people" I was witnessing to. It is not my job to save anyone. It is ONLY my job to share the good news. It is then the Holy Spirit's job to convict of sin. Finally, it is Jesus' job to draw them to Him and gather them in. And, during that process it is my job to consistently pray for them through the process as the Holy Spirit leads. Hopefully this insight will be helpful to those reading this thread....

    Luke 12

35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; 36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. 38 And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and[d] not allowed his house to be broken into. 40 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
41 Then Peter said to Him, “Lord, do You speak this parable only to us, or to all people?”
42 And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. 45 But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, 46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
    Christ Brings Division

49 “I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! 51 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. 52 For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. 53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
    Discern the Time

54 Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. 55 And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

Again Amen but Dear Lord, help us to have Your Heart to do that job!!!!!

    Mathew 28
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

    Romans 10

14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

    2 Corinthians 4

1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

    1 Corinthians 1

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”[a]

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Default An Aside to this thread

Many times I have felt the exact same as you. But lately, when I start this worry about folks like those lost in Haiti, I get a response which is very sobering. When we reach our glorified bodies and renewed minds, we will be AMAZED at all that God has done to reach people who have rejected him. I always keep praying (what I arrogantly think are) new ideas on how to reach people. I think He tired of my assumption there are many who have not had adequate opportunity. Once I heard that, it almost seemed as if I was doubting God's ability to reach people, and that would be both silly and moronic. To this day, I doubt many have had the constant attention I have been given. I certainly don't deserve it, but realize how fortunate I am to have had all the stimulus, reminders, and good congregants to keep me hustling for the right things. Thank you God, and thank all you who edify me.

Absolutely, Adopted! He is MORE THAN ABLE to reach all those who are His with or without us! But, how blessed we are that He allows us the honor of being a part of the process by sharing the good news with others. What an awesome God we serve!
