Welcome to the Rapture Report, today we will examine the headlines for the past few days and survey the Middle East landscape for news as it relates to Bible Prophecy in the end times. One interesting article that popped up today was a declaration again from the Israeli Prime Minister's office declaring that Jerusalem would not be divided with the Palestinians and that no new offices had been approved or opened for the Palestinian Authority. Apparently there had been rumors going around that the United States had pressured Israel in to letting the Palestinian Authority open a few offices for carrying out official business in light of a two state solution being implemented in the future. The Israel National News is reporting:

The United States government is allegedly helping the Palestinian Authority re-establish an official foothold in Jerusalem, according to a report published this week by WorldNetDaily – but Mark Regev, spokesman for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu insists the report is inaccurate.

According to a senior official in the office of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas quoted in the report, Israel has silently agreed to allow the PA to open official offices in the eastern section of the capital. The report alleged that in recent months, the PA government has opened a number of offices, including PA ministry offices, in eastern Jerusalem, in defiance of an Israeli law banning the opening of any official PA institution in the capital city.
In the past the Palestinian Authority had been allowed to run offices out of the "Orient House" in east Jerusalem but this was shut down due to terrorism and illegal activity aimed towards Israel.

The previous PA headquarters in Jerusalem, Orient House, not far from Damascus Gate, was closed by the Israeli government in 2001 following a series of terrorist attacks in the capital. Security officials said at the time that Orient House had been a locus of operations for planning and funding the attacks.
As we can see from the closing of the Orient House in 2001 that the Palestinian Authority had been using the building for planning and funding terrorism against Israel. The Palestinians have shown that even when they did have an official presence in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood that they used this presence to continue with their wicked ways. With the Palestinian Authority still behind terrorism that is targeted towards Israel there is simply no reason to think that by giving them a presence in east Jerusalem today that it would change anything from the way it was before. The Palestinian Authority would likely go right back to planning and funding terrorism against Israel.

The Palestinians for their part have not backed down from their insistence on having east Jerusalem for a capital. The Israel National News article went on to detail recent comments made by Palestinian officials who have basically said that there will be no Palestinian state without east Jerusalem serving as the capital.

Dmitri Ziliani, a spokesman for the Jerusalem division of Fatah, confirmed to the news outlet that the PA holds regular official meetings in Jerusalem in anticipation of a future PA state that would encompass the eastern portion of the city. Ziliani was quoted by WND as saying, "Our political program, as Fatah, dictates that there will be no Palestinian state if these areas – all of east Jerusalem – are not included." Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad also insists that no Jews be permitted to live within the state he envisons and has demanded that Israel forcibly remove the more than 315,000 Jews who make their homes in Judea and Samaria.
The Israeli Prime Minister's office for the record came out and said that despite the Palestinian insistence of east Jerusalem as a capital of a future state, that the answer was "No".

When asked about the PA's claims, the prime minister's spokesman told WND, "The prime minister's position on Jerusalem is clear. Jerusalem will remain the united capital of Israel."
As we can see from this article that the Word of God is clear that Jerusalem would be made a "burdensome stone" in the end times for all those who tried to move it. That those who did try to move it would be cut to pieces.

Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Here in the last days of this age we can see Jerusalem and the status of the city is being thrust into the political forefront. It is just one more sign that we are living in the end times before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is quite likely that we will see wars, conflicts, and many attempts to try to take Jerusalem before the Lord returns. Yet each time the enemies of Israel will be defeated (cut to pieces) as the Lord God holds a special place in his heart for his holy city of Jerusalem. I encourage you all to keep your focus on the Middle East and continue to be watchmen on the wall as get closer and closer to seeing Bible prophecy fulfilled here in the last days.

    God bless.

All this activity in Israel seems to be a powder keg of trouble and the fuse has been lit! Only trouble is, the "fuse" has, for some reason, smoldered and seems to have gone out. You know how sometimes you'll light a firecracker, the fuse will have gone out, then all of a sudden it'll start burning again and - BOOM!- it goes off. Usually, right about the time you're about to reach down and light it again.

The illustration is the unknown factor of what we do know. Most of us are on the edge of our seats because we see all that is taking place seriously, but with a calm assurance that we will be removed in God's time. I have never had such a deep sense of urgency in my spirit that we are on the extreme edge of the end times of this dispensation and that the possibility of the rapture actually taking place in my life time is, for me a great expectation. The urgency is there for the discerning eye (mind). A large portion of the professing church is asleep when it comes to these events and signs.

1 Timothy 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

These words are some of the most powerful ones expressing clear teaching against determinism or “so called soft determinism."

Chris, thanks for an excellent summary of what's happening in Israel and with Jerusalem.
