Default Hal Lindsey back on TBN - todays email

Received this email this morning. What I don't understand is that he does not say that he will continue to speak out against Islam. Wasn't that the issue that caused the split? Is it mysteriously missing from this announcement? He says he won't be sensored but is that because he has made a promise that makes Paul happy? I guess only time will tell as we watch his new programs and see if he has compromised in subtle ways. With good teachers dropping like flies these days into apostacy - I am going to wait and watch before making any decision. Paul is Hal's friend? That is a strange relationship isn't it - knowing all that Paul stands for?

    Greetings from Hal,
First of all, thank you. Thank you for all your support over the many years of ministry. Our Lord is truly amazing and I am blessed to be used by Him to speak the truth and preach the Gospel message in these last days. This year promises to be an eventful year. We’ve begun broadcasting “The Hal Lindsey Report” on TBN and we’re redesigning HalLindsey.com to bring you the latest audio and video content.

    New TBN Agreement!
I am thrilled to announce that Paul Crouch (who has always been my personal friend) and I have worked out an agreement for me to broadcast “The Hal Lindsey Report” on the Trinity Broadcasting Network every Friday night at 5:30 pm PST, 6:30 pm MST, 7:30 pm CST and 8:30 pm EST. Be assured that there will be no censorship or unscheduled preemptions of my programs. To guarantee this, I have taken a big step of faith and am buying my time on TBN. As you know, I already was paying for all production costs. This means I will need not only your prayers, but your financial support as well. I have never signed a contract that committed me to such a financial obligation as this one. But I know that God is in this decision. Joining TBN will add 100-million homes in the USA to my potential audience. As has been done for many years, my program will continue to report world news and events that are relevant to End Time Bible prophecy. I’ll call attention to the moral and cultural issues that concern Christians in America and worldwide. And I will continue to report the stories – and perspectives – that you’ll never hear in the mainstream media. The Lord has assured me that many thousands more will trust in the Lord Jesus through this enormous expansion of my audience. I believe they will respond to the Gospel presented against the backdrop of clearly fulfilled prophecies in the news today. So mark your calendars and tune in!

    Daystar Schedule Announcement
“The Hal Lindsey Report” has moved to a new time slot on Daystar. It can now be seen every Sunday night at 8:00 pm PST, 9:00 pm MST, 10:00 pm CST, and 11:00 pm EST. Please make note of this recent time change and tune in.

I think he's saying just that in very veiled ways to us. The big difference between now and then is that Hal wasn't paying for his air time before. It was given to him and the Crouch's got nasty and pre-empted his shows or gave him trouble when he went anti-Muslim. Now, he's paying for the air time. With Jan and Paul, it's not about the message, but the money. Now that he's paying them, I imagine he can pretty much stick to his guns and say what he wishes without them meddling. I'm hoping so, anyway. Hal doesn't seem to be one to kiss anyone's fanny and compromise on his message.

I sure hope you are right. I really like Hal and it would be devestating to see him compromise in any way. But, I am still having a hard time understanding his friendship with Paul Crouch knowing that Paul's god is money.

That is the way I perceived what HL was saying, but whether or not he is paying wouldn't necessarily be received or understood by the Moslems that Paul Crouch wanted to appease. In other words, unless the broadcast is being restricted to the US, Moslems in other countries would still be able to see the criticism of Islam......if HL chooses to present Islam as it is. Quite frankly, I am not sure that HL won't adulterate his message on Islam somewhat. I hope not, but he may choose to become more benign with Islam. Time will tell.

The mainstream media attitude on Obama? It's called ethnic/racial fawning.

I am not thrilled he is paying TBN for anything, I think Hal could have reached out in other ways/markets rather than pay the Woofing TBN anything. I have a great deal of respect for Hal and his ministry but very very very little for the TBN woofers, they should be shunned...just my 2 cents.

I agree. I am having a very hard time trying to understand how Hal is not bothered by making a deal with the likes of TBN.

Even if not for what they did to him but for what they did to Zola Levitt's ministry too.

I wish Hal would trust God's hand in helping to get His word out without having to compromise with people like TBN.

I agree with you guys. I hate to see HL pay TBN for anything. But I was wondering if perhaps he is doing this to tell the truth about Islam? He says he has never undertaken anything like this before, so perhaps it is a calling for him? Anyway, just a thought. :)

I really hope you are right Chris. But still, I wish he would trust God more and not so much leaning on his own way of working things out when it looks so bad.

It seems that every time man tries to solve a problem in their way of looking at things even when it seems wrong - they end up sorry they did.
