Re: It was an angel!
I love it! I remember a few years back I was with a friend going on a drive to a pastoral meeting about 40 miles west of home in Kansas. He picked me up and I said "let's see if we can pick up a hitchiker and share Christ with him." My friend agreed and we set out. A few miles into the drive a man all disheveled and looking forlorn had his thumb up so we pulled over and prepared. He got in and we introduced ourselves and he immediately started praising God and talking about Jesus and His grace and mercy. We had a good conversation and I was blessed to talk with him agreeing with everything he said while my friend sat silent. But what was interesting is he did most of the talking, sharing Christ with us. We arrived at our destination and he thanked us for the ride. As soon as he got out I turned to see where he was going and he was no where to be found. He just disappeared.
I have thought about that moment 100's of times since and wondered why he shared Christ with us so strongly. I know now. My friend was not saved. It just occurred to me this morning that shortly after that incident he was caught by the KBI as a counterfeit leader and thief. He ended up in prison. It is a long story but I knew there was something wrong but I couldn't put my finger on it. I especially knew when one day he showed up at church with cases of leather bound Bibles. He was giving them away for free, but he did not have the money to buy them. Later, I found out that they were stolen from a warehouse where the counterfeiters met to launder cash. (all of this came out in the news) He said they were given to him. He always knew the right words to say but the fruit of the Spirit and true love was not in his heart.
God knew this mans heart and I believe He sent the angel to share Christ with him. As subjective as it may be all I can say is it is true.
Praise God!
Thanks for posting Matt!!!
In Christ,

Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.
