Micah Wilder was born January 26, 1985 in Muncie, Indiana, and was the third of four kids. He was raised in the LDS Church (Mormon) and spent his youth playing sports like basketball, soccer, and track.

At the age of 5 he began playing the piano,

and at the age of 10 he began his true passion; playing the drums. Throughout his youth he enjoyed music in all forms, and picked up instruments such as the trumpet, French horn, bass and guitar.

When Micah was 14, his family moved from Indiana to Alpine, Utah. When he was 19, he served a two-year LDS mission in Orlando Florida.

It was on his two-year mission that he began to read the Bible for the first time, due to a challenge from a Baptist Minister.

Over the course of his two-year mission, he came to know the grace and love of Jesus Christ, and learned that salvation was by grace through faith, and not by works of a religion. With only three weeks left on his mission, he was confronted by his Mormon leaders about his change in faith, in which he was in turn kicked off his mission for no longer believing in the LDS religion, but in faith in Christ alone.
