praying that she is kept safe and that her family also accepts Christ
How many more of these "You should judge all of Islam based on this one situation" scenarios are we going to have?
I have actualllooked alot into this and there really is no happy ending to this. Ether she is fearing for her life from a radical muslum father (which I find highlly dobtfull becuese what Muslum extremeist would let there daughter be a cheerleader?) Or she is just being used as a pawn by third parties. AllI can say is I hopethingsworkout forher and that the rhetroich cools down a bit this is America after all. Certin laws are in place to protect childernin this Country ultmitelly the truth will win out butwhat that is as of right now I dont know so I am less then likelly to "circle the wagons" over this subject. with all that being said Prayer is a must but to qoute blogger Katelyn Beaty "Seeing persecution where there is likely none keeps the church defensive, improperly focused, and forgetful of the triumph it already has through Christ". that's my two cents may God be glorified in this situation whatever the outcome
I have no King but Christ.
To pretend to describe the excellence, the greatness or duration of the happiness of heaven by the most artful composition of words would be but to darken and cloud it; to talk of raptures and ecstasies, joy and singing, is but to set forth very low

Runaway Christian Convert Not Required to Meet With Parents, Judge Rules
Wednesday, December 23, 2009
A judge has ruled that a runaway Christian convert is not required to attend face-to-face meetings with her Muslim parents as part of a possible reconciliation plan.
Magistrate Mary Goodrich of Franklin County Juvenile Court on Tuesday denied the request of Mohamed and Aysha Bary to undergo mediation with their 17-year-old daughter Rifqa.
A case-management plan filed last month says the girl and her parents must listen to each other's views about religion if they are to reunite.
But the plan, which is not a binding document, also notes the girl continues to refuse any contact with her parents or siblings.
SLIDESHOW: Christian Convert Fears Family
Rifqa Bary ran away to Florida last summer saying she fears her father would harm or kill her for leaving Islam.
Her father has denied the claim and a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation found no credible threats to the girl.

She did not have a choice her muslim parents found out that she became a Christian and was attending Church and Bible study. They are obligated under the qur’an and shariah law to sacrifice her to allah (honor killing) and they were going to take her to Sri Lanka to do just that. Now he parents are getting legal help from the US branch of the muslim brotherhood (who founded al-qaeeda) CAIR.

(WOFL FOX 35) - Fathima Rifqa Bary, the runaway from Ohio who fled to Orlando after converting to Christianity, is being treated for uterine cancer, according to her former Bary attorney John Stemberger. He said the 17-year-old girl has already undergone two operations and is scheduled for a third surgery on Thursday.
Stemberger says he has spoken with Rifqa and says she has great hope and faith but is somber as well. He says the only reason she wants it to be known is so people will pray for her.
Jamal Jivanjee, director of an Orlando-based ministry, sent an email to her friends and supporters saying, "Her situation is very serious... As soon as Rifqa heals from the major surgery that she will undergo this Thursday, it is expected that she will need to undergo several rounds of chemotherapy..." He also wrote that Rifqa "...is in desperate need of an army of supporters to know about what is occurring regarding her situation, and to pray for her healing."
In July of 2009, Rifqa rode a bus from Columbus, Ohio to Orlando and moved in with pastors Blake and Beverly Lorenz. She said she ran away because her father or members of his mosque would kill her for converting to Christianity. Investigators in Florida and Ohio found no proof to support the claims, and Rifqa was sent back to Ohio. Rifqa is now in foster care and is still involved in a court battle with her parents over how she is raised. When she turns 18 on August 10th, her court battles with her father should end. However, according to Jivanjee, Rifqa's immigration status is still a problem. He says Rifqa is in this county illegally and could end up being deported back to her native country, Sri Lanka.

Christian convert Fathima Rifqa Bary made headlines last year when she fled Ohio and sought shelter in Orlando
May 24, 2010|By Amy L. Edwards and Rene Stutzman, Orlando SentinelFathima Rifqa Bary, the Muslim teenager from Columbus, Ohio, who converted to Christianity and ran away to Orlando, is being treated for uterine cancer.
Rifqa, now 17, has already undergone two operations and will have a third one on Thursday, according to a close friend and her former Orlando lawyer.
"The only reason she wants this to be known is she wants people to pray for her," said John Stemberger, who represented Rifqa in her 2009 fight to stay in Florida.
she lost that battle and was returned in October to Columbus, where she lives with a foster family.
She has been in and out of the hospital but remains under the care of the foster family, said Stemberger, who said he spoke to her last week.
Jamal Jivanjee, an ordained pastor who directs an Orlando-based ministry, also confirmed that Rifqa has cancer.
In an email to her friends and supporters, he wrote, "Her situation is very serious, and she will need the help of many people in the weeks and months ahead. . . . As soon as Rifqa heals from the major surgery that she will undergo this Thursday, it is expected that she will need to undergo several rounds of chemotherapy. . . .
"Rifqa is in desperate need of an army of supporters to know about what is occurring regarding her situation, and to pray for her healing," Jivanjee wrote.
Reached by telephone, Rifqa's father, Mohamed Bary, would not discuss his daughter's health.
Neither would Kort Gatterdam, one of her attorneys in Columbus.
Rifqa rode a bus from Columbus to Orlando in July and moved in with a husband-wife team of evangelical pastors, Blake and Beverly Lorenz. She said she ran away, saying her father or members of his mosque would kill her for converting to Christianity.
Investigators in Florida and Ohio found no proof to support those claims, and an Orange-Osceola judge ordered her back to Ohio in October, where she and her parents have continued a court battle over how she should be raised.
She turns 18 on Aug. 10. As an adult, her court battles with her father should end.
Still a problem, though, is her immigration status. She is in the country illegally, Jivanjee said, and faces the prospect of possible deportation to her native Sri Lanka.
Jivanjee said Rifqa has finished high school early and has graduated.

Would it be possible to start a petition for Rifqa Bary's acceptance as a legal citizen? Election year and all that...
