Video shows Rand Paul quietly detained despite TSA claims of an 'irate' senator - The Hill's Video


Nashville International Airport released security camera footage Thursday of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) quietly sitting in a holding area after refusing a pat down, begging the question of whether the senator was as ‘irate’ as the Transportation Security Administration had initially characterized him.

Paul was escorted to the cubicle after refusing a full-body pat down while going through airport security. A law enforcement officer was called to the security area to deal with Paul, who was described as an “irate” passenger.

There is no footage of Paul’s run-in with the officer or of his escort to the holding area.

“I don’t feel more safe,” Paul told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Monday. “I feel our dignity’s been compromised, but I don’t feel more safe. I would rather see selective risk assessments done on people who are international travelers, people who have ties to groups who may be terrorists. But regular citizens don’t need to be put through this, particularly frequent travelers.”

Not only violate the US Constitution by stopping his travel to Washington, but flat out lie about the conditions of his detainment....

Now if this had been a UN diplomat.....
