    Default V is for Victory

Haven't got the bandwidth to watch this collection of videos, at least until next month...but some of you might find it interesting. A Sci-Fi series with a different theme, conservative even. Throw away Mao's little red book and put the CD of 100 greatest instrumental versions of the Internationale on pause, and take the time to look through the following 10 pages of selected clips:

Stefan, you've got me intrigued. I refused to watch this new series when it came out because I hated the original series. The original miniseries was good (back in 1983), but the series that came after it was just plain dumb.

I'll have to find season one and watch it now.

I remember when it came out on TV in the early 80's in Australia, but that sort of thing was not permitted viewing for me....though looking at the review of the series in those articles, it might have been worthwhile after all. Still, at the time we had plenty of other, wholesome and more interesting stuff to keep us occupied: fishing, boating, tending the garden etc. No idea if there will be any electronic technology in the Millenium and beyond, and truthfully, I hope there isn't. The wonders of The Lord's creation are more than enough. For now, there is a battle to fight and I thought those video clips were interesting, especially with the increasing interest in "aliens" (cue "X-fools files" music) and the pervasive propaganda in the media. Looking forward to getting my bandwidth back...

I'm with you. There are times when I'm truly sorry about all these "modern conveniences" of ours. We speed by so fast in our cars, we can't appreciate anything. It used to be if you traveled someplace you stayed there for a few weeks because it took you so mighty long to get there.

A few years ago, we visited my husband's aunt up in Wisconsin. She had lived by a small lake her entire life. She said when she was girl, she used to swim to the center of the lake and could look down and see the bottom, the water was so clear. But motor boats over the years had leaked oil into the lake and polluted it, and the water is now cloudy.

At the time I thought, when the Lord comes back and we get a new heaven and new earth, I hope he bans all motor boats. What's wrong with taking a little time and rowing a boat the old fashioned way?

Anxiously awaiting the glorious return of our magnificent Lord.

Rowing?!? Too much like hard work; hoist the sails, lash the helm and sling the hammock!

If a fallen creation populated by the mutated remnants of approximatley 6000 years of sin and decay can still present such wonders of design and sheer beauty for beauty's sake, what was it like before the Fall, and more importantly, what is it going to be like after He makes all things new, never to be corrupted again?

Your parents were smart people. In one scene of the show, a teenage girl has intimate relations with an alien (she didn't know he was really a lizard at the time) while the head alien watched through a one-way mirror. Can you say ewww?

She got pregnant and turned green as she approached her due date. Then she gave birth to twins. One was human but had a lizard tongue, and the other one was lizard all the way.

It was certainly a powerful message of remaining celibate.
